This is from the Promotional Video of "Music of the Night" (the video is on my profile if anyone wishes to view it!)
"Close your eyes, for your eyes will only tell the truth. And the truth isn't what you want to see And in Dark is it easy to pretend (oh, how I love to hear those long, sweet high notes! Michael Crawford's voice is so unique!) "That the truth is what it ought to be"
I like this version of MotN than the one in ALW's. It sounds more passionate than the original, in my opinion. Not that ALW's version isn't powerful and moving...just saying... sweatdrop

I heard on Behind the Mask that Michael had asked Charles Hart (lyricist) to write different lyrics to MotN because he didn't like the vowel sounds...and he had this particular dislike for the letter P (because of his puffy lip thing). Nanyway, I *heart* those lyrics too. The official ones sound too repetitive.

XD I like it better too. Especially the part "hearing is believing, music is decieving" and I was studying for a test and as soon as he hit that last word I was studying the spanish word for "to decieve".

The other lyrics are just...deeper than what you expect it to be. I've noticed that with a lot of show tunes. There is so much more than what's on the surface of those lyrics, there is another story not many people see.
