Zik thought for a minute. He didn't have enough speed to catch the monster, but he did have...Yes! He only hoped they worked in this form... He reached around to an enlarged, dome-shaped, silver scale on his back. He poked one of the polka-dots on it, and four skinny, jointed legs popped out of the dots. He smiled, satisfied, and charged down the passageway on his four mechanical, spider-like legs, screaming fierce battle cries in his native language, which consisted of shrieks, pops, and snarls.

Sigilos was still trapped in his own mind, out cold on the cave floor. In his mind, he reached the light-speck. It had grown as he walked toward it, becoming a huge brightly lit door by the time he reached it.
{*I hope this leads back, I have to find a way out of here.*}

Zik turned around. He couldn't just leave Sigilos there...alone and conked-out...Meh. Who cared? Not him, that's for sure. He was about to continue down when a huge, familiar, booming voice bellowed in his mind: *MORON!! YOU MACCHIAVELLIAN MORON!!! HOW DARE YOU LEAVE SOMEONE BEHIND!!* His jaw dropped to the floor. "A-ANK?!?! He shouted, quite loudly. *No. It's Stephen Hawking.*, an irritated Ankaara thought back, *OF COURSE IT'S ME, YOU TWIT!!! Now, go back, and BRING SIG WITH YOU.* Zik, unwilling to face her rage, went back, picked up the unconscious gold, and sped down the passage once again.

Josh caught sight of the beast in front of him, "hold on!" Then he extended his chain on his sword and threw it towards the back of the beast.

Lex sat beside the gold, watching and listening to the others in the dark cave. "I guess I'll stay with him, then," she thought reluctently. She shifted into her tiger form and layed down on the floor beside Sigilos. Her tail whipped back and forth slowly, showing her boredom. She sighed. "What to do now?"

((Josh, the beast disappeared a while ago, how can you throw a sword at thin air? confused BTW, Sigilos is not in the cave, he's with Zik in the tunnels. )) ~*Ank's Narrative*~
Ankaara, bound in heavy chains, was brought to a pond in the middle of the forest. Green scum laid on its surface like a heavy blanket, and it reeked of dead things. On the other side of the pond, a gnarled, chair-shaped tree held a vague figure that kind of looked like a dragon. It laughed, a cruel, coughing hiss, and got up. It flew across the pond, and it was Skelegar. He was a gold, but large chunks of skin and flesh had rotted off his body, attracting maggots and flies, which wriggled in his wounds. In some places, a glittering, white bone showed. Half of his face was this way, and his skull showed. Ankaara, helpless in human form, had a spiked metal collar around her scrawny neck. She writhed, shouting numerous curses at Skelegar, but she could not get free. "Oh, come now," he said in a slithery, slimy voice, "You know you cannot essscape from me! Unlesss of courssse, you do me one favor..." "And what would that be?" Ankaara said, angrily. "You will give me your Shadowstone...Only then will your friendsss -Zzzik, Lexxx, Sssigilosss, and Josssh- will be sssaved." He laughed again. Ankaara gasped. "I will never relinquish my kingdom to you..." She paused. "...Father..."

In his dream world, Sigilos recoiled from the door when he opened it, his eyes growing wide in astonishment.
*What? But, how?*
As the light faded, he could see clearer. He stepped hesitantly through the open doorway, not even noticing when the door closed softly behind him. He stared at the man sitting before him. The man looked to be about middle aged with a touch of grey in his dark hair. The liquid grey eyes watched him calmly, seeming to pierce straight to his deepest thoughts.
*Father, what are you doing here? Where am I?*
"Good to see you again Sigilos, it has been much too long. This is your mind, you where watching your power flow before, the rivers of light in the sky. You see, you have been under a powerful spell, much too strong for me to break from so far away. The strike from the beast of the forest broke the spell. I don't know how, but it did. Regardless, you're here because you must pass a test. When the spell broke it almost took your life with it. To live, you must decide something."
The gold sat down suddenly as his knees gave out, the enormity of what he was being told being too much for him. A chair from his mind caught him as he fell into a sitting position.
*But, I don't understand, what's happening to me? What test?*
"You will die if you fail, I can put it no simpler then that. As for the test, you must chose which door you wish to pass through. If you choose correctly, then you will live. If not, you die."
As the man spoke, three doors appeared beside them, each of them a large mirror. Sigilos stood up shakily and stood in front of each door, then realized something. Each door had a different reflection in it. One was him in his Full-Blood form, one his Human form, and the other was his current Half-Blood.
*What's with the doors?*
"That is how you choose. You must find the door that shows your true self, and speak your true name. If your right, then the door will open and you will be back in your body."

Zik looked down at the green patch where the monster had disappeared, puzzled. There seemed to be talking down there...He could hear it! It was Ankaara! "Stand back, everybody!" He drew an "X" on the bit of moss with his claw, and pressed another dot on his back. The jointed legs turned around, glowed blue for a moment, and suddenly, a torrent of light came out of them, and temporarily blinded them. When the smoke cleared, a rectangular hole was cut in the moss, opening yet another passageway. The legs went back into their normal position to help him run faster, and, seeing that it would be a hassle having to carry Sigilos through the maze of tunnels, enclosed him in a floating bubble, and passed him through the opening before going in himself.

Lex sighed and got up, following Zik into the dark cave. She was humming quietly to herself, making it seem as though this was just a walk through a flowerd forest. She hated flowerd forests. These were the kinds of walks she enjoyed. And she knew she could fight anything that came out of the darkness. She was not worried.

Zik looked up through the hole to see everybody coming. He waved his hand. "Hey guys! Down here! i think this is where Ankaara disappeared to! Come on!" He pulled his head back into the hole, but didn't realize the large, three-headed monster coming towards Josh... It had six eyes on each of its three faces, and each head had a satisfied smile. Two large horns sprouted out of each of its heads, and blunt spines ran down its neck and tail. It was an Azhi Dahaka, an evil creature of Persian myths. It roared savagely, which alerted Zik. Suddenly, Ankaara's presence angrily growled in his mind again. ((Get the stupid sword, you idiot!)) *What sword? I don't know what you're talking about!*, Zik thought back. ((MY sword. Look in the shadows.)) Zik rolled his eyes, and groped around in the darkness until he pricked his paw on something that was rather sharp. He picked it up, and sure enough, it was Ankaara's golden sword. ((Good. You've found it. Now, run the monster through as it passes! Show them how brave you can be! You have the advantage of being below it!)) Slow, thudding footsteps were heard above him. ((Now is your chance, fledgling. You must learn bravery, and overcome your cowardice and Macchiavellianism. Go! Charge when you see its belly-scales! Watch out for those poisonous things though, they can be troublesome...)) Zik had no time to think about the last thing Ankaara said, for the monster's pale tan scales soon came into view. Taking a deep breath, he raised the sword above his head, and flew up as fast as he possibly could. The monster said no words, but instead deflated like a large helium balloon, and that was what it was: no more than a distraction set by Skelegar in order to scare away intruders. A chuckling came from nowhere, and Zik suddenly realized that he was stuck in the hole. He wiggled his way out and fell, but landed on a large, damp, squooshy pile of moss. ((Congrats, kid. You saved your friends from an angry balloon animal.)) She laughed. ((But hey, at least you had the guts to do it. That's my pupil!)) Zik recoiled as he felt a playful punch on the back of his head.

Lex ran up behind Zik. "Sorry I couldn't join you, I was memorizing the runes on the wall. You said they were interesting. Wait....a balloon?" She picked up the skin of the 'monster'. "Wow, and we were scared of this?" She sighed. Ank was back, Zik and Josh were both here, and Siglios was lost in a dream. She did not know what to do. Her first thought was to walk right out of the cave, shift into a small bord and fly away to where people could never find her;she hated people. But, she stayed, and she really didn't know why.

<> Zik stared down the long hallway, totally mystified with The Beast's balloon-animal-making skills. He could seriously become a professional clown... ((Hey kid, great job back there. You had some gumption with that stunt, and I'm proud of you. Now, you've no time to lose, an' I've got none to spare, so you need to continue down this hall!))

Sigilos stared at the doors for a moment, not quiet understanding the task. How could he find his true self, not to mention his true name? He shook his head in bewilderment, and sat down to think.
