"Yeah, I realize that also. Just keep an eye out ok?" Vaek said as Cairne left. He didn't notice a pair of people watching him from behind. They dissapeared, and Vaek turned around, thinking he heard something. "Must have imagined it." He then walked back towards the inn.
"I guess I should get a good night's sleep."
"You said it. I'm exhausted."
"I haven't even been with you two that long, and I'm already tired."
"You get used to it.
Meanwhile, from a distant cliffside, a man and a woman watched Vaek walk into the inn.
"He seems alert. Do you think he knows who we are?"
"No. He hasn't stopped abruptly in his travel, so he must not know yet."
"The Fire Adept seems to have noticed us. That may pose a problem."
"Relax. We'll take care of him eventually. For now, keep an eye on the Earth Adept. He resembles Isaac in many ways."

" Nothing like a good nights sleep" Quint got out of bed and got dressed " I guess the others are still asleep, not disciplined at all... oh well i'm gooing to get some food"

"Huh?" Lord questioned out loud, and turned to where he heard some hushed voices moments before. He swore that someone, or thing, had been speaking in that area, and now? Nothing. Paranoia? Fear? Or was he not actually going slightly mad? Something, just something, had to be wrong. He couldn't explain it at all. Vaek's little chat with Cairne. The upsurge of undead. And now, some unknown beings stalking them. This really wasn't much of a day...

Vaek woke up after being asleep for only an hour. He couldn't fall back asleep, so he decided to take a little walk in the forest next to Biblin. "The others can sleep a little more." he said to himself. He turned to Geode and Ptera whom were sitting on his pillow.
"Stay here and keep an eye on the others."
"No problem."
"Just be careful."
Vaek nodded and left the inn and headed towards the forest. The sunlight bleeding through the trees gave a soothing feel, and for the first time since they left on their journey, he was relaxed.
Just then, Vaek noticed two cloaked figures from behind the trees. "Show yourselves, whoever's hiding back there!" He pulled out his sword, turned around, and raised it towards the tree they were hiding behind.
"Very clever boy!" Suddenly, the tree erupted in flames, only revealing the cloaked figures.
"You two are Fire Adepts?"
"You are quite the astute one aren't you?"
"Why are you following us?"
"Oh you'll find out soon enough, in death." One figure cast a fireball at Vaek, so he screamed "GROWTH!" A wall of vines rose from the ground and blocked the fireball, but were burned with little ease.
"So, you do have some fight in you. Good. This will make things interesting."

Cairne awoke suddenly. He had a strange feeling something was wrong. There was fire nearby, in the forest. Ember and Forge were restless as well.
"This might be trouble. What if... no, he's not stupid. Is he? No matter. Lets go guys."
"What about the others?"
"We'll come get them if we need to."
"I don't know."
"They're still sleeping, lets go already!"
"Right." Cairne ran out from under the tree and into the forest.

Shade and Dew had woken up Nlai for someone had used peyenergy
"your sure?" Nali said getting dressed
"positive" the djinn replied in unison
"all right" Nali said running out side to see a tree on fire
"Dew, Shade come with me" Nali said running to the fire

"I won't ask again! Who are you, and why ae you following us?"
"Silence!" The man launched another fireball at Vaek, but he dodged and yelled, "Earthquake!" The ground began to shake roughly underneath the cloaked figures, revealing their faces. They were two Fire Adepts whom Vaek thought he would never see in his life.
"Oh no. Saturos and Menardi." Vaek said in a surprised tone. "But, that's impossible. Isaac killed you two at Venus Lighthouse 50 years ago. You two can't be alive!"
"I'm impressed." Saturos said. "You're smarter than you look." He raised his hand and yelled, "Curse!" A black aura swirled around Vaeks arm and left a black mark. Vaek began to feel a sharp pain in his hand, blocking his ability to use psynergy.
"What the hell is happening?"
"Your psynergy is blocked with the curse, and there are other side effects as well." Menardi sneered. "Your only hope lies in Mercury Lighthouse. You better hurry. You have only so much time left before the curse consumes you." She then launched another fireball at Vaek, but this time it hit Vaek square in the chest, launching him into a tree. Vaek fell and hit the ground hard.
"We're done here. Soon, you'll be killing your friends instead of us." Saturos said with an evil laugh. "I'll be very impressed if you survive this curse, in which case I'll get rid ofyou myself, and then your friends." Vaek tried to get up.
"If you hurt them, I swear I'll tear you apart!" The Fire Adepts laughed, and then dissappeared. Vaek pounded his fist into the ground. "Why does this happen to me?"

Nali had gotten there too late. "PLY! what happened?" Nali asked helping Vaek up "are you ok?" Shade and Dew had gotten there shortly after Nali
"what happened to him?" the djinn asked in unison

"Yawn...." Lord yawned as he woke up. He hadn't slept within two days, and had only just pulled himself together. He had just had an utterly bizarre dream. There were two fire adepts, and they were plotting something. What was it? Nothing came to memory. Bugger. Well, at least it wasn't something important... or so he thought. He sat up, and looked around from under the tree he had thought looked nice to lie under. What a nice view... The entire town, below him, and not a single rogue fire adept in sight. He glanced around, and noticed a small commotion. That lass, the water adept, was near some person. Vaek? What had happened to him now? Something really was up here. He got up, and walked over to them, and prepared for more chaos...

Vaek slowly got up to his feet, but noticed the curse mark on his hand flashing a little. He shoved Nali away from him and stepped back. "Stay away from me! I'm not safe to be around anymore!" He then noticed Lord approaching them. "Lord, round up the others. We have to get to Mercury Lighthouse now! I'll explain later." He started running towards the inn. Once there, he found Ptera and Geode still on his pillow.
"What happened?"
"Saturos and Menardi are alive. They are the ones who've been following us. And they just placed a curse on me."
"What? That's impossible! Unless..."
"Exactly. It must be the Wise One. Only he is capable of this."
"But why would he do it in the first place?"
"I don't know, but we'll worry about it later. The only way to cure this curse is at Mercury Lighthouse. We're leaving now."

Lord sighed to himself, once more. What the smeg had happened now? First sinister discussion, then sinister dream, now sudden rush. Blimey. Still, he had better get to work. Lord ran down to the inn, and realised that the door was indeed, locked. Bugger. Remembering some play he once saw, he ran around the back, and looked for an open window. And lo, there one was. On the second floor. He weighed up his options. Smash through the door, or go in through the window?
"Growth!" Lord commanded, and a small shrub grew to a useful size. He began to climb it. As he reached the window, he heard a noise coming from around the front door. The innkeeper walked out, and Lord cursed, slid down the plant, and ran inside to wake up his companions...

Vaek noticed Nali running beside him. "Nali, I'm sorry for that scene back there, but I don't want to see you and the others get hurt. This curse is going to take control of me if we don't cure it at Mercury Lighthouse, and Saturos and Menardi want to use me to kill you guys."
