I have just a single point of clarification. As academy students I would ask if we are in full Shimigami garb, or in the student uniforms. From the Anime I have seen there was a different garb for them than full Shimigami. As such, would I actually be walking around with my Zanpaktou?

Even in the academy uniform they carried their Zanpakuto, so i don't think that's an issueThe only difference in the uniform is the black garb that goes on top, underneath it's pretty much the same i believe as the academy uniform.
Perhaps it's something we are awarded when we graduate from the academy?

I have a suggestion, I think that you should make a thread in this forum such as a "New Member Guide" That could tell the new members what to do as soon as they join, I'm a little weary my self of where to post right now xd .

I know this might contradict what storyline you have so far, but if I remember right. In the series they state that a hollow, shinigami fusion never happened before. So why would they exist at this point when this is far before then.

The story states that there were no...Experiments regarding Shinigami and Hollow fusions before, for instance there are no records.
However, Ichigo wasn't an experiment as such, he's a natural fusion and not induced.
No one will know for sure if there was one or many before Ichigo or indeed the Vizard.
