3.14 My English teacher is insane.
11 point font? Ugggggggh. Times New Roman? Double Uggggggggh.I am afraid of my English teacher. Having seen him talk today, I am pretty sure we are not allowed to disagree with him. emo Because it is not THE PROPER WAY OF ENGLISH. And he spoiled the end of one of the books we're going to read! He says it's not important!

They question everything. English doesn't always make sense, dammit! Just accept it!

I left the class horribly, horribly confused. He said there are two kinds of fiction: interpretive and escape. Interpretive provides an insight into human life, escape is pure entertainment.
We read this story about a crazy dude on an island trying to hunt another guy. He said it was an escape story because there was too much coincidence for it to provide any insight.
I was like.. wtf? gonk What does that have to do with anything?
I /sort of/ got it, and tried to ask him.. "Wait, do you mean that because there's too much coincidence with the situation, it's unbelievable as a realistic story and therefore can't shed any insight onto a realistic situation?" or.. well.. it was less better-worded than that, but I still got the point across. His answer was something like "there is a lot of coincidence." gonk

My college classes were more fun, except for the raging feminist teacher who gave out A's for papers as long as your paper revealed how literature and the media portrayed women as being oppressed and that all men are evil overlords who still seek to keep women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. rolleyes

Might be due to the fact that he didn't really give your question an actual answer.
