Galesen blinked a little as Sevilin walked in and came back out carrying the boy they met yesterday by the collar. Soon enough Zahara disappeared and just by hearing what the parents had to say it didn't seem like things were peachy. Looking at Sevilin he walked over and stood near the boy. "Sevilin let him go, and how bout you and Zahara listen to your daughter? She seem to have an explanation about why he was there." He was trying to be a calm as possible, Sevilin was pissed and he did not want to encourage his anger.

Malik had to grin.

"Well. seems the boy has a lot more spine than I might have given him credit for. I'll let you sort this out though, I'm going to check on Malikhai, and see what's going on as far as his condition."

a slight thoughtful look.

"Anyone know if we had another boy girl sleep over last night?"

Other hand made a motion in the air, Galesen duly getting shoved back against the nearest wall with unseen pressure in a clearly aggressive gesture. "You do not tell me what to do. Especially when it comes to things involving my children. Have some of your own, then you can do what you want with them and the circumstances around them." Not good to crunch his toes right now at all. But still holding Mykorian and literlly a inch or two off the ground just because, he turned red eyes to his daughter's. "That's very nice of you to offer a place for him to stay. But firstly he's been here for days and should have his own place. Secondly, why in your bed?"

Still praying and not opening our eyes. After all we couldn't touch the ground with our toes pointed, which meant we were still in a bad spot to be. Nope, not looking.

Latch to daddy's legs. Look who was up! Clinging to his father's pant leg after unsuccessful attempts to poke mommy and brother awake, he had come looking for daddy. Big triple colored eyes blinked though at what was going on. Well, that was odd.

Yup, this was very much not good. She knew better than to try to calm her husband down at this moment though she did flinch when Galesen was driven back against the wall. He should know better than to get involved. Malik had wisely abstained. Resting her hand on his arm lightly, she softly urged him to relax. "Sevilin, put the boy down, at least on his own two feet."

Faate faltered for a moment and shook her head, "He doesn't. All the inns were full by the time he got here," she lied deftly, searching for another half truth that might work as well. "He...I...we...he was more comfortable in the bed and we kinda fell into reverie that way. That's all. I thought it was silly to make him reverie on the ground like he tried to do last night..." Snapping her mouth shut...she shouldn't have said that. But she got irritated too and crossed her arms. "Why can't he reverie in my bed? Lyssie does and you reverie with Mama and Kelli does too."

Well if he was going to be the boy's guardian then he had to start acting like one right? Still Galesen should of tread carefully but instead he wound up against the wall, gritting his teeth as pain racked through his body a little. "Alright I get it, can you at least put me down then?" Then again if he had a daughter, one day he might, he would probably act the same way. Well except he would freeze would was ever in her bed in a chunk of ice.

Malik picked up his youngest, and gave a visible wince at Faate's words.

"Not the wisest thing to say, I imagine."

then turning to his youngest, getting himself away from the volcanic eruption that was about to be Sevilin, adn going into his oldest's room, setting Dhairiss on the bed and getting some fresh water and some painkillers he'd smuggled out of the healer's area.

"Boy..that's not going to be pretty. this is going to make for an interesting morning, apparently."

He wasn't sure what was going on at all, but he didn't really care and merely gave a look then took to kicking his feet lightly as his father picked him up and carried him off. "Not pretty." Merely more or less repeating because he wasn't sure what this was all about but hey he wanted to be involved. But now back in his brothers room and set on the bed he crawled up tthe bedding and took to poking his brother again, maybe this time it would work.

A bit of movement from under covers that were pulled up over his head even, one arm snaking out to swat at his brother. "Donnh...poe..." Mumbled obviously and drowsily. And arm back under covers.

Stuttering meant lying because you were trying to think of something plausible. He was crazy, not stupid. "Because I don't know him. You don't know him. And you should never let someone you don't know that close and leave yourself open. What if he decided to smother you with a pillow? Or tie you to the bed posts and rob you blind, or kidnap your sister?" Note how his mind hadn't instantly jumped to things of a more sexual nature...probably would have if this wa the other way around. But his grip had only tightened on the boy's clothing at the other revealed statement. "So this isn't the first time either." Cue one of those head shakes before his attention snapped to Zahara and he gave her a hard look, eyes still narrowed before he set the boy down. Still had hold of him though. Those eyes trailed to Galesen. "Cross me again and I won't just push and shove." And thusly back to the teenager in question. "Well Faatallon?"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 02, 2007 2:48 pm

Faate's hands hit her hips. "No, he took reverie in our room last night, too. We're all still here, still healthy, and no poorer." So there, she thought though knew this was by no means going to end with her winning. The truth is, she hadn't considered any of that, but she'd never had to worry about that. The teenager visibly faltered and shook her head. "I would have known if he'd tried anything. I runed the door on purpose so he couldn't get out if he did choose to steal something." Of course that didn't take care of the smothering and her shoulders sagged. "I was just trying to help him. He didn't have anyplace to stay, Daddy...I wasn't trying to hurt anybody or anything. I thought he was safe enough..."

And the situation went from bad to worse. Zahara bristled under the hard look but she admitted silently that it had probably been warranted. She was operating under the same belief as her daughter; the little elf in question wasn't dangerous but they had all seen his magical ability and she knew just how easy it was to slit a throat while sleeping. "Very irresponsible and quite immature, too. I understand your wish to help but you have to protect yourself and your sister first. You never ever invite someone into your personal areas until you actually know them. I'm not talking about spending a few hours with them walking around the tournament grounds. I'm talking about knowing them so intimately that you know what they are capable of and then you still need to be leery. Just because someone looks nice, Faatallon, does not mean they won't hurt you. Remember that." Setting Lyssie down, and qalking over and checking Mykorian for weapons, pulling out a pair of daggers. "Did you know he had those?" Her daughter's face was all the answer she needed.

Malik took a long look at his son's condition, and stood up, taking the covers and jerked them off to about midthigh.

"It's early enough in the morning to be somewhat awake. and which would you prefer, him poking you awake, or Zahara poking you awake?"

taking a moment to look at his bandaged ribs.

"Besides, you need to sit up, that bandage needs to be changed out. being bedridden with little movement isn't good for such things. even a good bandage can't stop sores from forming if it doesn't get changed daily. oil and dirt and the like in it."

He merely continued to watch his daughter, knowing he could stare down that posture of hers. She wasn't as grown up as she thought she was. "Windows." That was all he had to say about that and he merely shook his head as she started to faulter. For the moment he held his tongue and let his wife do the child soothing before and let himself think things out in his head. "You can't let your more tender sensibilities get in the way of your logic Faatallon. Some people prefer to get you when they earn a close and trusted spot to you." Shaking his head as apparently the boy had daggers to boot. "You see?"

Mykorian sighed, bad going to worse and what not. At least his feet were on the ground right now and he wasn't dangling. But the daggers made him look bad. "Would if help if I said I was sorry? I didn't meant for her to get in trouble, she really was trying to help and I know it's hard to trust me because you don't know me." Toeing the ground a little, "But I'm really not a bad elf..."

Sliding, or rather plopping to the floor, he sat there on the wood and crossed his arms, giving a huffy look. How come no one wanted him around today? It was frustrating.

And apparently it was get up time as per his father yanking covers. "Zahara is going to poke at me anyway. She enjoys it." Trying not to fuss and only make a displeased face as his father took to his own inspecting. Oh he was going to be sick of peopel touching him by the time this was over....now he knew why mom always fussed about such things. But with a tad bit of struggle and pain he made himself sit up as per parent order. "Well we can look at it this way...I can actually expect what things will feel like next year. I think I was very very unprepared for consequences this year."

"I runed those too!" she snapped defensively, seeing her own foolishness paraded before her eyes. Not that she thought Mykorian would hurt her, she knew he wouldn't, but another elf at another time could. "I'm sorry. Mykorian doesn't have anybody here and he was nice to me. I spent time with him and I didn't feel anything strange or off about him so I thought it'd be okay." Gaining a bit more confidence and meeting her father's eyes head on. "I know he wouldn't hurt me or Lyssie or even Kelligrin."

Zahara could tell the point had been driven home and now was not the time to ruin the girl's outlook on surface elves with Sevilin's own prejudices. "Mykorian, care to tell me what you were thinking of? You're no different, sleeping in a room with a bunch of drow who you don't know. Neither of you thought about the possible consequences of this decision, did you? No, you didn't. You took the limited information you had about the other and decided you were both safe. Does that sound like a smart move to either one of you?" And she still got that vibe that he was lying about something, but she could look at the child and tell he wasn't dangerous. One of the differences between her and her husband, Kefele love him.

"Woefully underprepared indeed. but then again, there was no way to be prepared. like actual warfare...there's no way to really prepare until you've been through it. traingin does give you an edge. but it can't encompass all of it."

Picking the youngest back up and putting him on the bed, and handing him a roll of bandages.

"hold that for me, and lets get your brother in a new one."

before starting the process of getingthe old bandage off, washing the exposed skin with the water and painkiller mixture of his own use during his days as a soldier.

"So. how did you and Kaelin fare after everyone left?"

getting that off, and let his son hold the bandages, unwinding them in his hand and working on getting his son rebandaged. there now he was able to get this done, adn entertain his youngest at the same time.

He couldn't do this. Right now was really really not a good time to pit him against any logic that he could use to bash a surface elf and trample all feelings of those around him. It was one of those times that he knew to keep his mouth shut, and thuly he let Mykorian go and shook his head, turning a look to his daughter. "And should no one be around to undo those runes and you not able to yourself then more damage could take place." Then a look to Mykorian and a point, "Let me catch you as I did just now again, and you won't meet so much mercy." Turning and scooping up Lyssie, heading back down the hall to his own room. Kel was probably up with all the commotion as well.

Mykorian merely watched the ground, nodding at Sevilin's words before he turned tenative eyes up to Zahara. "Sometimes tempting things cloud our judgement. If we can't rise above that and give into it...then we should strive to not make the mistake twice." Obviously this was something that he had heard somewhere else.

He smiled and stuck one finger in one end of the bandage roll and the other finger in the other end, thusly he had the roll between his fingers, very much amused as his father pulled and made it all spin.

Painful painful painful. Especially for a body that wasn't really used to pain at all. His normal training was sissy stuff compared to all of this. Though at least that meant that he could advance up in the levels easier in his own schooling when it came to combat. But he tried his best to not depict abject pain as he let his father change bandaging up. Oh look, dad was trying to distract him. "We just talked some. Apparently my social awkwardness is somehow something to smile about and not in the haha way..." Women, still confusing.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 02, 2007 7:10 pm

Things were progressively getting worse, weren't they? Sadly. Sevilin was not handling this well at all and she was seriously afraid he was going to murder poor Mykorian. And then he was suddenly gone. Zahara ran her hands through her hair and pointed to the room. "Both of you inside, now. No need to broadcast this to everyone." Thus ushering the children in and hten pointing to the bed. "What's tempting about this?" Waving her hand to the room. Or was it her daughter? Narrowed eyes at that.

Faatallon was not pleased at all and she glared at her father then turned and stomped inside, plopping down on the bed mulishly with her arms crossed. "Mama, stop it. Mykorian didn't meant it the way you think he did. But he can't tell you why he feels the way he does because he just can't."

Lyssie had calmed considerably when her parents had shown up and the action had easily caused her to forget her own problems but she was still pleased when she was picked up and carried quite snugly in her father's arms. Sniffling and rubbing her hands over her eyes. "It was real scary, Daddy."

Kel was indeed up, sitting and holding onto the bars of his crib and blinking sleepy eyes in his footed pajamas. He wasn't crying...yet. Seeing his father and his sister, he made grabby hands at them.

A slight grin.

"that's a double edged sword. your not cocky, overconfident or brash. hich is good. but it also means that she can get away with little things that wouldn't bother you, not to mention that you wouldn't jump to conclusions on, that she can't get away with in others."

A glance up.

"So what time did she leave? and you agree to see her again or anything?"

Well at least he wasn't hearing anyone screaming in abject pain or feeling any of the ripples that resulted in a soul being shoved out of a dying body yet. someone must have either calmed sevilin, or he just hasn't gotten aroun dto murdering him yet.
