Well considering they're always showing up, and I never knew about them until now, we're in the same boat pretty much. I'll forget to get them (missed the Rotom event by a few days)

isnt there a way for someone to transfer a mystery gift like that to someone else? 'cause if i knew how to send it to you i would. if it wasn't for wi-fi i'd be really hosed in the legendary pokemon department, that's for sure. ^^;;;;;

Some are nontransferable.
I'm not sure about the Rotom one though.

Mmhmm, like the NEP is nontransferable (or evolvable gonk ) or however you spell that.
The Secret Key...I have no idea. And once you have the Key, do you need to keep changing forms? Cause that wouldn't be good...but if I gave you my Member Card so you could get Darkrai...but would it work? *goes to google* xp
EDIT: As far as I can tell, none of the event items are friend transferable, unless you have a Japanese game. But the info is spotty... gonk scream

I was able to get the member's card from the wifi, so it was all good. they just usually neglect to mention that things are available in canada, too.
from what i can tell i *could* copy over my Secret Key to your game, but only via wireless. -_- so we'd have to be pretty much face-to-face for it to work. =/ but at least i can give my secret key and member's card to my friends with platinum if they miss out on the events, which is something at least.

Wireless...needs to have a larger range XD I sometimes lose contact with my sister who's in the same room as me.
Mmhmm, I'll just have to wait for more events to come out. I heard an Arceus event is next. *rolls eyes*

Arceus huh? I think I'd rather have Shaymin actually, but actually being able to get these elusive legendaries is actually pretty nice. *shrugs*

I've already had a Shaymin, and traded it for a shiny Duskull. So Arceus sounds good to me. One more to add to my pokedex (so close! Less then 80 to go!)

Once I trade my Darkrai into my Diamond game I'll be at less than 25 to go. Though I am still missing Deoxys, that stupid ugly brute. xD

Ugh Deoxys...That's still eluding me. Can't wait til HG/SS, then I'll have all those legendaries taken care of. That will leave me with a few I've just been too lazy to catch/evolve, and Celebi, Mewtwo (too lazy to get from LG), Deoxys, and Latias. And freaking Manaphy. The GTSplus site though has helped alot.
