Blah. Not that I've been around much anyway, but I don't think I will be much for a while yet. Now time to finish lunch break and get back to work. =/ Goddamn, but that sucks a**. I know it probably isn't much consolation, but there's a chance of Luna and I making it next year since the position I've been working is up for hiring, and everyone here wants me to get it. I hope you see this since it'll probably make you laugh (and you're one of the few who will get it), but I've been playing KOL at work when things are slow, and I recently accessed one of the alts I haven't used for a while and was mucking about with my familiars when I saw the name I'd given that account's Howling Balloon Monkey... Furious George. I almost totally lost it, to the point where I think I giggled a little as I answered two phone calls several minutes later... That is just so much win Stream. I've got some pretty amusing pet names... but that's one of my favorites. Oh, for those of you who love portal and understand KOL, this year's Crimbo event involved the Borg taking over Uncle Crimbo's town... and this year's version of the Pet Rock familiar is the Bulky Buddy Box... which (like every other Rock-type familiar) does nothing... although if you're in the KoL chat with it equipped, it occasionally tells you to do... things... I've had my KoL account deleted twice now due to inactivity. rofl

Dr. Fomite Such a bad mood.
Pretty much since the AG decided to try a get-together at AX '08, I've been telling my bosses I needed that week off. Always been fine. No problem. My week. Great. Start of the year, I double-checked, let them know the exact dates I needed, which days I'd be gone. Perfectly fine. No problem.
Today I find out the good news. Not only am I not going to get that time off -- they're both taking the time off! So instead of going on the vacation that they've told me I could have for over a year, I get to be the only working doctor in a three doctor practice for over a week. So considerate.
So. Yeah. Not going to AX this year.
On a happier note, hope you have a great birthday, CB. heart What the hell? How is it that they can do that... they just have seniority even though you've been telling them for so long about this? That's ridiculous. I'm sorry Mala... I'm really sad I won't get to see you this year. I guess in 09, then!

WTF, Orlando!
I saw a huge iguana in the middle of the road. Then about two miles down the road? A homeless man projectile vomiting into a lake. Well, that wins. Today I took pictures around campus, since it wasn't raining. A nice boat washed up and was abandoned on shore. I wanted to get closer, but I was afraid that there would be sleeping hobos in it.

It sounds like what Josh's job tried to do to him.
He asked for two weeks off for Christmas the previous March. Then a month before Christmas they told him that he couldn't have the time off because another person wanted that time off too. He was upset. Then we he found out the other person was a Jehovah's Witness, he threatened to quit. So they gave him the time off.

AzurePaleSky That sucks... but I don't get why his being a Jehovah's Witness made him want to quit? Because they're annoying knocking at your doors early in the morning? But that doesn't seem right. They don't celebrate Christmas. It's against their religon to celebrate birthdays! rofl
