You totally can. Although it's a hell of a lot easier with Soren than it is with Ike and his "I now have the personality of a rock"-syndrome. You can interpret it as a lot of things. I still maintain that both interpretations have some validity.

I get the point you and Rath are trying to make, but it IS entirely possible to make a LOGICAL argument for Ike being gay.

And here's a thought: what evidence, assuming that Ike isn't gay, is there that would suggest he's straight?

And although I interpret IkeXSoren as a pairing, the best put-together argument I ever saw concerning Ike's sexuality maintained that he was asexual.

It's really all in the eyes of the beholder. I for one am a Ike/Soren fan but if you see friendship it's fine by me. I'm depressed we lost a fan hardly two posts ago but I won't judge. Heck. I wrote a SSBB fic with Ike/Pit, Marth/Roy and Link/Soren. Want to know how that worked out? BECAUSE I MADE IT LIKE THAT!! And it WORKED. The only problem would be to say the don't really care about each other all that much and it's strictly business. THEY FREAKING LOVE EACH OTHER DANGGIT!! That's in an either friend or lover way but it should only matter to you. I see it as a closet love in the games but when the games are all said and beat the real love journey starts to fool the fangirls.

Like I said, it's possible for people to interpret them as lovers, but they have no logical basis for their view. Simply that they talk with each other, and are closer with each other than other characters is not enough.

Joshua, in FE9, yes, Elincia was his paring, but in FE10, that utterly changes. Ike shows no romanticisms with any character. Also, FD, Ike and Soren don't have a romantic ending. They just leave together, instead of Ike leaving by himself. There's nothing supporting them as lovers in that. *Also, I know we disagree here, FD, and it's best to avoid this subject so I'll just mention it once, that homosexuality is a choice. A choice that one cannot know unless the person outright tells you...or displays. To just assume that about somebody is completely irrational. Personally, I don't care if Ike is straight or gay, but he certainly isn't gay for Soren, nor does he have romantic feelings for any other person.

Mistress gray-freak: I'll say it now, that I mean no direct offense to you in particular. But, I despise it when people ship brawl characters together. It's absolutely inconceivable for characters like Marth and Roy, despite being from the same game series, to be lovers with each other. I cannot stop people from shipping pairings like that, or writing those boorish brawltard fanfictions, but they're still illogical and 90% of the time the handy work of immature 10-year-olds. Identifying relationships properly requires a logical foundation for making a wise determination of the facts given. Not "oh, they look good together".
