So not only was this dockmaster a complete a**, he also enjoyed holding back information that was important for Ruu to know; looks like he defintiely drew the short straw on personalities here.
Ruuvan sucked it in and smiled at the man, nodding slightly as he walked up the ramp and over to where D was leaning over the edge. He set down the duffel bag and the case, leaning on the same rail looking out into the sky. There was a light breeze in the area, blowing his short hair around quite a bit, or as much as wind can blow short hair, but at least it didn't get into his good eye. "Looks like we're in for a long drop later on, D. So enjoy being on solid ground whilst you can."

Gwound?
: biggrin looked down and tapped his feet against the wooden deck.::
Awww....I wanna fwy! Fwoooosh!
::He swooped his hand past his face like an airplane.::
Big brudda told me all you have to do is, do like this and then run around like this!
::And as he said "do like this", he extended his arms out on both sides. Then as he said "run around like this", he ran in a circle around Ruuvan with his arms extended making "Fwoosh" and "woosh" sounds. This would last for about 30 seconds before he plopped both his arms by his sides again and stopped right in front of Ruuvan.::
You know how to fwy right?

Ruuvan couldn't hold back a small laugh as D ran around him with his arms out, doing what could only be described as an impression of a plane. As far as knowing how to fly went, Ruu didn't have any idea how to start. Of course, he could just turn into his Undead form and take the fall, no matter how high it might be, or use some kind of magic to slow his descent, but that wasn't until later on. "I'm afraid I don't, D. Which raises the question: What am I going to do?" Of course, as this Narrator stated earlier, Ruu had some ideas of what he could do, but maybe the imagination of a child would pay off again with some rich ideas.

: biggrin held out his arms and pretended to be holding a sword in his hands. Ruuvan might remember that stance, it was the stance the child had taken when he cut down several lizards. But he was very unarmed at the moment. He pretended to swing the imaginary sword around his head as he spoke.::
I use dis, it helps's me when I'm stuck or scared or stuffs.
::Yes. The boy did not know the word, or the meaning of the word "sword." But his gestures made it clear what he was talking about. Finally he released his imaginary weapon and pointed at Ruuvan's bow.::
What does dat do?

It's strange how it takes the simple acts of a child to bring a smile to even the most hardened of men, but it always worked. Not that Ruuvan was a rock or anything, but he was smiling as D went around striking with his imaginary sword. It wasn't until the question about his bow that Ruuvan was truly stumped. Not that he didn't know how to use it, much the opposite, it was a matter of not knowing what any of the arrows he had did. "It's another weapon, though different to a sword. A sword being the weapon you use, that dark one." He pointed to his own sword in an attempt to convey the message before carrying on, "It fires things called arrows, but I don't know what half of these do." Ruu unclipped the quiver from his waist and put it on the ground, pulling out barious arrows and showing them to D.

S-sww....syoo...Sord. Sord! I did'd it!
: biggrin stuttered a bit, as he tried to get the phonetics out but he finally squeezed it out. Its not like the boy went to schoolr or anythin. And triumphantly he thrust his fist into the air as he achieved verbal victory.
And then as Ruuvan presented his arrows D, being a curious child, he jumped at the opportunity to grab a couple in his hands and play with them. Of course not know what they were, he couldnt properly play with them, and so he more held one in his hand and scanned over it. Until, accidentally, he poked himself on the arrow head. The drop of red on his finger told him exactly how it would be used to hurt people....but how did someone get it into them.::
How'dya use it?
:: D said as he pretended the arrow was a dagger, a sword, and then, even gripped it by middle and got ready to try and toss it like a javelin. Until finally he offered it back to Ruuvan, as he was thoroughly confused.::

Regardless of the fact of whether or not the bow could fire four arrows at once, what with the extra grooves and the general shape of the bow, but for demonstration purposes Ruu was only going to fire one.
He smiled and laughed again as D tried to wield the arrow as a sword, proving just how oblivious children could be, before offering them back to Ruuvan in order to get some kind of demonstration as to how they would go into someone. So, with his bow in hand and taking one of the arrows from D, Ruuvan stood to his full height and placed the arrow into the groove on the side of the wood, placing the flight notch on the string. "This is called a bow. Basically, it throws the arrow at the target for you and at much higher speeds." Ruuvan trained his eye down the shaft, aiming at nothing bu air, as he pulled the string back to his ear, "You have to pull the string back, like getting ready to throw something, and then simply let go of it." Already being on the Dockmasters bad side, most possibly not getting any lower, Ruuvan fired the arrow off the side of the airship, watching it fly out into nothingness, "And that's how it works." He had no idea of the speed, but it did go pretty darned quick.

::The moment Ruuvan pulled back the bow string he would hear...snoring. Like someone was sleeping. As he was talking to D, he and only he would hear a bit of a yawn. And finally, it spoke to him, just before he would fire. It was the same womans voice as before and yet now she spoke in a more triumphant tone.::
I see, I see a demonstration! Show him the greatest bow in all creation!
::Of course D didnt hear the voice. But he did smile and watch, and his eyes traced the arrow off the dock, and watched it whizz off into the distance. About 40ft out the arrow turned green a bright green like a shimmer of emerald. 400ft away it struck a neighboring boat floating in broken pieces in the ocean. The arrow almost immediately shattered piece of its emerald body could be seen spinning around the boat as a host of visible green wind lifted the already destroyed boat up into the air and caused it to hover for a few moments, before finally drifting back down to the water.
D's mouth hit the floor. Not literally, but in shock and surprise as the word...::
Woooow....
::...slipped from betwix his lips. He looked at Ruuvan, looked at the boat, back to Ruuvan, back to the boat, and then shouted.::
Do another one! Do another one!
::Ruuvan would immediately hear the voice echo in his head.::
The child wants to see some more! Come now Ruu, dont be a bore!

Of course, being the demonstrator and not a member of the audience, Ruuvan had to pretend that what the arrow had just accomplished is what he intended it to do. "Impressive, eh?" Ruu chuckled a little and brought the bow back up, taking two arrows from the quiver this time. It was at this time he decided to address the voice the bow seemed to have, though he'd think of what to say rather than saying it out loud and causing confusion in the child; telepathy if you will, but he only attempted this as D obviously didn't hear the voice and it was coming from his head, so how would it not be able to hear his thoughts? "So how do I know what these arrows do?" That was said internally, hoping it would warrant some kind of answer from his weapon.
Once this was thought, not said, Ruuvan notched both the arrows on opposite sides of the wood and drew the string back once again. He'd need to practice in order to be able to fire four, what with normal bows only allowing for two, so that'd come at a later date. Anyways, with the string back slightly further this time, Ruu let them go in the same direction and waited to see what the arrows did and what the Bow had to say for itself.

Ruuvan "So how do I know what these arrows do?" What do arrows...? My oh my...you've really lost more than your eye... my dear Ruuvan, arrows fly!::She'd say as he finally fired the two arrows. Impressive is what he wanted, impressive is what he'd get. In mid flight both arrow errupted into energy, one bright firey red, one brilliant glowing saphire. The close approximate company of the arrows caused them to swirl around each other leaving a beautiful trail of red and blue as both arrows repelled and attracted each other until finally they both struck their targets. The visual effect was stunning. An explosion of firey proportions immediately quelled as a burst of blue looking something like a smoke screen or a gust of blizzard shot from within the firey erruption and snuffed it out, freezing the air for a moment as finally bits of snow and ash fell down where the boat once was. The boat made a satisfied "mhmm", as D just looked on dumbfounded by the display.::

Atleast the bow had his sense of humour, if not a little too cocky, but it seemed to be having fun on this little demonstration of Ruuvan's. He decided to try and ask her the question again, rephrasing it this time to get it right, and try to fire four at the same time. "I meant the effects. How do I know which arrows do which?" This was definitely a more exact question, hopefully getting past her sarcasm and getting a straight answer; strangely enough this annoyed him more than the rhyming in everything she said.
So, with the question asked and all four arrows notched, even though he hadn't done it in a while and he managed to finally get it done, Ruu drew the string back even further this time, once again aiming out into an empty space. Ruu could onyl imagine what people watching from their homes would say as they saw these things fly from the sides of the boat. It didn't matter to him, he was just happy he managed to fire four at the same time!

Questions, questions, so odd. You've had me for years, could you have forgot?
::She seemed deeply saddened by the thought that after millenia of waiting in a void...her master had forgotten her. The bow string pulled back, the arrows were notched, and yet the string seemed tense, the bow seemed brittle...
And he fired. The arrows flew as only an arrow should. Not an arrow launched from a bow such as this, but any arrow from any bow. Nothing out of the ordinary, they soared a good 400ft, and fell with a sploosh into the water. Why? There was no answer.
D just kind of looked back at Ruuvan with a silent look of confusion. As if to say, what happend? With just his face.
The bow however was silent. It didnt speak, and while it had no face as long as it rested in Ruuvans hands this all encompassing feeling of sadness was bleeding from it.::
I waited so long...I knew you would come...now its all gone...how could I be...so dumb.

And so, as the arrows did nothing interesting things time and the sad female voice sounded in his head, Ruuvan slumped onto the ground with the weapon in his arms and his eye closed. She obviously had no idea of what had happened to him, what with the Dark Lord doing something that threw him into another world without a memory to call his own, but how was she meant to know what happened? As far as this bow went, she was simply thrown back into the hands of a person who she assumed would remember and then was shot down. Ruu didn't want to lose the bow - that just wouldn't be right; it was his only link back to his past, aside from the necklace and Maximos - wherever he was - so how could he explain?
"you're not the dumb one here, I am..." Ruuvan was now thinking the words and saying them allowed, a distinct sad tone on his lips as he made his case, "I've got nothing from Aria, just this necklace and now you - the bow that obviously belonged to me. I can't imagine how much coming back to an empty shell of a man you once knew must hurt, but you have to believe me that I want to remember... I want to find out everything I did, no matter how insignificant, and I want to know why the Dark Lord did everything he did to me; why he cast me here, why he took my memory... why I can't remember anything!" Ruuvan was getting angry at himself now, gently resting the bow across his legs and he looked up to the sky, "Please don't leave me alone like this, I need all the help I can get to try and remember. I feel this bond between us, don't get me wrong, but I can't understand it. Please, don't go..." This was all he could say; a warrior reduced to a sad and lonely fool wanting his memories back. A single tear rolled down his cheek, but he didn't care, he just wanted to remember everything including this magical bow of his; she would be his key to unlocking that part of his past.

:: Immediately he felt the tiny embrace around his warms and only partially around his chest as D huggled him. And squeezed him tightly, and nuzzled his head into his arm.:: I'not gonna weave you. ::Granted the rest of the conversation totally confused the living crap out of his mind. But he went with understand, and why not, he was a little kid. And while a grown man talking to thin air and then falling on his knee's in tears is normally seen as crazy...But who was D too call anyone crazy? Meanwhile...Ruuvan would hear what sounded like thunderous laughter inside his head. But a sobby laughter, like someone laughing after crying. It was the bow, and she was laughing so hard she'd break a muscle that she didnt have.::
