Maia beamed at Toby as he found one. And in the shape of a heart. She studied the app for a moment and nodded. "It is a heart!" She looked up at the sky and then to the app. She traced the shape of a cats head. "Look, it's Seamus," She offered the phone back to Toby.

Toby chuckled and took the phone back. She really was addicted to the cat sidhe. Se seemed to find him everywhere.
"Hm... how about...?" he scanned the sky with the phone. Hm. Hah. "It's a snake." A wiggly line, yup. Just like the Ancient Romans did it.

"Oh, nice one," Maia said, looking up at the sky and failing to spot the snake. She was impressed with Toby's constellation making skills. "Look, a smiley face," she pointed it out.

"What? Where?" Toby squinted at the sky and then at the cellphone screen but still couldn't see it. He handed the phone over again so she could mark it. Their sky was becoming somewhat cluttered what with the actual constellations and their grey-lined fake ones. It was a nice distraction, though. He actually felt pretty good tonight.
Dari turned to lean over Maia to look at the screen. He was curious where she saw it as well, and what direction it was facing.

Maia took the phone and dutifully marked it, she showed it to Toby and then to Dari. "Your turn," She said. She'd only realized Dari hadn't had a turn to make a constellation when he leaned over. She made an apologetic face.

Dari laughed and shook his head, waving a dismissive hand. They were having fun. They should keep it. He was just a bystander now, but he was alright with that fact. They were either bonding, or Toby was baring himself to her and things could go wrong. Nobody would know until said things did or didn't.
"Oh, I see..." Toby said, then pushing himself up and looking over to Dari who had pulled another marshmallow from the bag.

Dari didn't seem to mind being excluded, but Maia did feel bad. She offered the phone to Toby. "Our sky is getting full," she said. They'd have to find another patch of sky if they wanted to continue doing this. "We'll have to find more room."

"Well, we'll see different stars all year 'round." Privately he knew that he would be turning off the homemade constellations whenever he used the app for real, except with Maia. He was mostly just enjoying holding her hands.
"I think I just want to watch the stars for a while," he said, not taking the phone, but holding his hand out for it if Maia wanted to get rid of it.

Maia set the phone next to her, in case they wanted to use it again later. She scooted closer to Toby, silently agreeing. Yes, it would be nice to just watch The stars. "We'll find constellations all year, then."

"Mm-hm," Toby agreed. Maia came closer, was actually touching him now. He turned to look at her. She really did have a gorgeous profile. She was a pretty girl. His thumb stroked her hand and he turned back to the stars.

The stars were so much more beautiful when they were together, weren't they? She gave Toby's hand a squeeze, keeping her eyes on the stars. Maybe they'd see a shooting star! Maybe they'd be able to make a wish.

The stargazing went on a while until hot chocolate went cold and a chill started to settle in the yard. Toby wished Maia a good night and went off to bed alone with a pillow in his arms again.
After breakfast the following morning, Dari looked up from his upside-down perch on the couch... or was it down?
"What's the plan for today?"
Toby frowned in thought and shrugged. Who knew? He'd been sticking close to Maia, flirting, joking with Dari. He still seemed to be doing fairly well for the day-before. "We could go see a movie?"
Bah. Dari wasn't sure he wanted to get all made-up for a movie.

"A movie?" Maia asked, wandering into the living room. She'd seen things on television while living with Toby, but she had never been to the theater. "Can we get popcorn?" She asked. Movies were date things, weren't they? But also friend things. "Dari, are you coming?"

Dari shook his head. "I don't think so. We'll watch it together when it comes out on Blu Ray."
"Of course we can get popcorn," Toby said, and then to Dari: "Are you sure you don't want to come?"
Dari nodded and smiled. "I'll play a game. I don't feel like going out."
Toby smiled and nodded back. Some days Dari didn't want to spend so much time layering makeup just to be out for an hour or two. They were still looking for another option down in Research, but nothing had come up so far.
"What do you want to see?" Toby asked Maia then, "Comedy, action? Thriller?" He wiggled his fingers at her.

"That'll be fun," Maia agreed. She perched on the arm of the couch, looking down at Dari. It usually took months for movies to come out on blu-ray didn't it? Dari would have to wait an awful long time.
"What game?" She asked, curiously.
She looked to Toby. "Anything's fine," she said. "As long as it's not too scary." Or violent. "What do you want to see? I haven't looked at the movies out right now."
