Everyone: After a few minutes of flight, the ship lands on the planet's surface. When you walk outside the ship, you see the larger ship from before already unloading people and machines. There is a river a short distance to the north and a forest off in the distance that goes around the southern and western sides of the plain where you have landed. To the east appears to be more plains with nothing but a few hills and trees to decorate it, though in the distance you notice an obscuring darkness that prevents you from seeing farther than about a mile away.

She looked at the terrain and then frowned seeing the darkness, she then took her sniper rifle and set the optics on full zoom trying to see farther in that direction.

I search the area for any unwanted visitors, or for something off.

Solomon: There don't seem to be any hostile creatures in the area. The plain is very peaceful and quiet with the only living things you can see in the area being a few trees and shrubs along with a few new species of animals that appear to be peaceful herbivores.
Kristina: Even on full zoom, you can't see anything. If there is anything out there, it is too deep in the darkness to be seen.
Everyone: "Alright everyone," Allen says, "All we have to do is make sure nothing shows up and attacks. Since it seems that nothing dangerous is in the area, we'll just have to keep an eye on the surrounding areas to make sure nothing was attracted here by the sound of us landing. Kristina, you keep watching the east. Solomon, you watch the south. I'll watch the West. Yumi, keep an eye on the river to our north. And Anima, you can take to the air and fly around as much as possible to get a good look at all of the surrounding area. Any objections?"

"No objections."she began to walk a bit more towards the east, trying to find a bit higher of a landscape to try and get a better view of her appointed positions surrounding area.

"No," I state, and head to the south, trying to find a good vantage point to see as much ground as possible. I also constancly check my scanners for targets that might be hiding.

I deploy my wings dramatically, with some pink sparks of lighting added for dramatic effect. I make the take off just as dramatic before soaring off to recon and carry out my orders.

Kristina: You are able to find a fairly high hill that provides you with a good view.
Solomon: You find a good hill to stand on that lets you see quite a bit of the landscape. Your scanners pick up signs of a few animals roaming around the plain. They are medium sized, wooly animals similar in size and appearance to sheep except that, instead of having heads, their mouths are located on the underside of their torso and they have multiple eyes symmetrically placed along their torso.
Yumi: The river is surprisingly deep and is moving quite quickly. If there are any fish in it, you can't see any at the moment.
Anima: From the air, you can see that the only noticeable creatures in the area are the sheep-like ones that Solomon saw.
Everyone: About 10 minutes go by and nothing eventful seems to be happening. The crew of the larger ship is already working setting up shelters and various other buildings, though it seems like you'll still be here for a while...

I keep a look out, and check to see if there are any possible areas that would be likely places for the natives to set up an ambush.

Solomon: The cover that the hills and bushes scattered throughout the plain provide is very limited, so as long as you remain vigilant, the best ambush spot that the native creatures could use would be the edge of the forest, which you are able to compute is 1.67 miles away. Otherwise the only at all feasible ambush spot would be the river to the north, but that would only be viable to amphibious creatures.

I keep scanning the area for anything that might seek to attack us from the air. I try to see if there is any terrain that might give an attacking force an advantage against us.
