I have a friend who is a walking MOTU encyclopedia. Ask him anything about He Man, anything at all. I've scoured the net for over an hour trying to stump that guy... stare

I was always afraid of He-Man fans. I never saw the appeal of watching a cartoon with that many men wearing so little.

I love how both the Ghostbusters and TMNT started out with adult audiences and all of a sudden became massive in the children's market. It's really kind of funny if you say that the two defining children's properties of the nineties were based on a Bill Murray comedy and a Daredevil parody respectively.

Yeah. xd And up until a couple years ago I didn't know that TMNT was "originated"/parodied from Daredevil, either. Apparently the comics aren't that bad though, for TMNT... a lot of stuff is different between them and the first TV series, for sure. The new Ghostbusters comic, additionally, is pretty damn good, but it comes out SO SLOWLY. But Bill Murray is one of my favorite actors, still...

I was like, "Whoa... how wierd."

Yeah it was a bit more directly related to Elektra since Raphael was the first one drawn. To their credit the connection is pretty loose considering that and Splinter are the only really similar elements.

Ricochet Rita Splinter=Stick. xp And, ACTUALLY... Mikey was the first turtle In the years since the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were created, Michaelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello have become a classically comical part of Americana. Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the creators of the Turtles, started the black and white comic book with just $1,200 in 1984. With tons of work and a plethora of good fortunes, they've seen the Turtles go from an underground hit to a world-wide phenomenon. It's been a wild and crazy ride, to say the least! After a long day of work way back in 1983, Kevin and Peter were relaxing at Peter's house watching television and sketching. "We got real punchy!" Peter explains, and they started drawing cartoons to amuse themselves. At the time Peter was doing editorial illustration and advertising art with some success while Kevin was working as a short-order cook and drawing comics in his spare time. As the evening evolved, Kevin eventually drew a bipedal turtle with nunchuks strapped to his arms and called it a "Ninja Turtle". Peter, aware of a nifty idea when he saw one, asked "Why not a teenage mutant ninja turtle?" and thus the legend was born.

A young boy is going through a warehouse zone holding his pet turtles when a truck has an accident knocking some radioactive canisters from the back one breaks over the kids eyes the rest hit the turtle and one rat that was outside. I was given the first eight issues of the series as a gag gift from a friend... the books were very dark and well written... then they became popular screwing up the series.
