Yume looked at Pander hard. Did he really feel a heartbeat? She put a hand on her wrist, and felt for a pulse. Thump thump thump... there was a faint one...just detectable. She sighed and moved her hair over one shoulder. She crawled on her hands and knees over to Pander and lay on top of him, her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. Their legs were entwined and Yume continued to listen to Pander's heartbeat. Pander, will we really get...married?" Yume hesitated a little before saying the word.

If you want. I still don't have a ring so until then you have time to think.
He smiled in an odd way. He wrapped his arms around Yume, kissing her gently. He pulled the blanket up over them, resting his head on the pillow. He yawned slightly, giving away his secret. He had tried to appear awake but he had been wanting sleep since they left Ria.

Yume giggled, hearing Pander yawn. Sleep, Pander. You need rest too, no matter how much you think you can hold it off. Yume yawned too and lazily drew circles on Panders' arm. I probably have asked this too many times, but when do you think we'll get to the village?

It's only a few hours climb up from here. We should be there by noon.
He rested his arm over Yume's side, pulling himself closer to her. He pulled the blanket up higher until the point where it covered his head. He ran his fingers down Yume's side slowly. His hands were slightly cold.
Don't worry. It's not hard from here, just long.
He laughed, thinking of the vertical climb they had. They had to scale one third of the mountain to get to the village. Doing it from inside was safer and less time consuming.

Yume nodded, putting her hand on Panders' cold one. I wish we could just stay here, but we can't...can we? We have responsibilities, and things that we have to take care of... Yume smiled. What do you think everyone will think when they see me? Will they shun me like they did so long ago? She pressed her lips against his.

They won't shun you. They would be stupid to. You are a beautiful woman with a knight in a leather jacket. Not to mention they are afraid of me.
He intertwined his fingers with her as they kissed under the blanket. He rolled Yume ontop of his, his arms wrapping around her from both sides, holding her from falling. He closed his eyes His right hand sliding up and down Yume's spine.
He moved her shirt up, sliding his hand up her bare back. His hand was warming up, now only cool, leaving a refreshing feeling under its touch. He began to kiss Yume's neck gently. He continued to move his hand gently along her bare back.
I won't let them shun you.

You promise you won't let them? Yume breathed in deeply and ran her fingers over his chest. We have to stop before it goes too far...I won't be able to control myself, and neither will he...but then again, who's to know that we went out of control? She brought Pander's head up from her collarbone and wrapped her arms around his neck. I don't think we should go this far...should we? No one would know, but...when you know something is wrong, it's always wrong, no matter how you feel when you're doing it... Yume's eyes closed for a brief second then opened again. What was a girl to do when she was torn between to decisions?

Pander could see that Yume was uneasy with this so he stopped running his fingers down her spine. He pulled her shirt back down and hugged her. The blanket was now down near the small of Yume's back. Pander rolled to the side, pulling the blanket back up.
He slid off the bed, walking to the door. He pulled on his boots and picked up his jacket. He collected his rapiers in one hand and walked out of the room. He turned, just outside the door, looking back at Yume.
I'm sorry if I made you feel uneasy. I'll be in the living room.
He walked down the hall and into the living room. He set his rapiers on a table with his jacket. He pulled off his boots then wrapped his feet in cloth bandages. He stood up, wrapping his hands in the same way. He took up a fighting stance.
His feet glided smoothly over to stone floor as he moved from one attack on the air to the next. His attacks became increasingly faster. The air surrounding his fists and feet became blurs of white and small tornados. This was only from the velocity of his attacks since he had no magical abilities.

Yume sat up and watched Pander get up and leave. She regretted making Pander feel like she didn't want to do this...she bit her lip and walked outside, adjusting her shirt. Pander? I'm sorry...I'm not ready just yet... She looked like a child who'd just gotten caught stealing from the cookie jar. She walked towards him and stopped right before the invisible hitting distance line. You're not mad at me, are you?

His onslought to the air continued. He didn't even look at Yume as his movement became faster and more wild. He suddenly stopped. Both of his feet were on the ground. His left was bent and his right was as far forward as it could go. His right hand was palm up above his right foot and his left hand was palm up behind him.
It's fine of you're not ready. I can't be mad at you for that.

Yume let go of the breath that she didn't know she'd been holding. I'm sorry...I'm sorry...I'm sorry that I wasn't ready when you were...and that I'm not perfect... Yume's body was racked with sobs and she fell to her knees on the stone floor. I'm sorry...I don't deserve you... Yume's eyes went blank and shadows curled around her. I'm sorry... She collapsed on the floor.

His body twisted as he dove underneith Yume. He stopped her from hitting her head off the floor by using his body as a cussion. This promptly knocked the wind out of him but he soon regained his breath. He looked over Yume quickly, seeing that she had no injuries. He whispered gently, even though no one would ever hear.
It's ok if you aren't ready. I understand. You don't have to be perfect in every way to deserve me. To me, you are as perfect as it can get without becoming too good to be true.
Pander smoothed out Yume's hair with his hands as he craddeled her in his lap. Why had she colapsed? Would she be ok? Pander had thoughts like that running willy nilly through his mind at that point. He was scared for Yume.

Yume was in a black nothingness with no light, no people, nothing... Is anyone here? Please call out if someone is there! The scence changed to a small village filled with bustling people and playing children. Yume looked around. This place looked so faimiliar...she saw a little girl crying in the middle of a feild surrounded by flowers and other little children. she shoo-ed the other children away and approached the little girl. " Why were they picking on you?" the little girl didn't look up. " Little girl?" the child looked up at her. Yume gasped. That girl was her..." They were picking on me because i'm not like them...they're picking on me because the grown-ups hate me, because they think I'm a bad omen..." The girl sounded so sad and depressed, so Yume bent down to look straight into the girls' eyes. They were so lifeless...Yume turned the girl around and moved the hair from the back of her neck. A tattoo...Yume traced a finger over it and the little girl winced. " Please don't touch that! Jangen-sensei and Pander-kun helped me get better, so I don't want to get sick again so that I have to burden them..." the little girl turned around at the sound of rustling leaves. " Brother!" Yume turned her head to look, but she awoke from her unconsciousness in a cold sweat. What happened?

You colapsed. We should get you to the village. They will be able to do more than me.
He sat Yume up, rubbing her back gently. He knew that they needed to get to the village, but how. He could climb and carry Yume on his back, but not the whole way, not without stopping. If he stopped they might not get there in time.
Jangen half emerged, talking to Pander in his mind. They desided that Pander would take her to the village if Yume collapsed again. Jangen would lend Pander his energy and strength so that Pander could climb nonstop and carry Yume.

No! Not the village! Im fine... Yume put her head on Panders' shoulder, feeling the warmth radiating off of him. I don't want to go to the village...not today...tomorrow. We'll go tomorrow...It's daybreak already and we haven't slept any... She looked up at him and kissed him on the lips softly, leaning in before pulling away slightly. I'm ready now, but the time isn't right yet... She took Pander by the hand and led him to the bed. Good night--uh, Good morning Pander! Yume smiled and went to the bed, sliding underneath the sheets.
