Look at the dates on that neglected, the poor thing must've been abandoned and adopted four times, and still almost ran out of time... glad it made it in the end!
Sorry I couldn't save the egg, I tried but I need about an hour usually to hatch one from scratch...

I was kind of shocked. It still had .24 time remaining when it grew up. I think that was the most time I have seen in one of them.

Repost from scroll on previous page. About 1.5 days left to grow up. ~edit~ whoa. Grew up. Going through more eggspam now and finding the ones in need of help. 2.8 days and no cracks. Posting this before it becomes an impossible emergency. 2.9 days and no cracks 1.6 days to grow up 2.3 days to hatch, no cracks.

Hmm .. before I post to many more ... what *is* everyone's working definition of an emergency? I figure anything under 3.0 days with no signs of progress or under 2.5 even with progress could use the nudge and is worth help.

It's 2 days or less in this thread. We can get them all hatched and on their way within an hour or two. We never say anything about the 2.5 or 2.9. It's the one's that come on here with 3.5 and more days thinking they have an emergency when it's not. They still have plenty of time.

The thread's first post says "Only eggs and hatchlings with up to TWO days left are allowed here" which should mean anything up to 1.99, but many people post eggs & hatchlings with 2.x days (which is *over* two days, for those bad at math and decimals smile ), and no one -including me wink - has really been complaining about that. I guess a lot of people think 'OMG 2 days' as soon as they see a '2', even if it's 2.8 or 2.9.... redface
To me, 2 is the key number; 3.x it is nowhere near an emergency, and anything over the 3.5 mark (the minimum at which an egg will hatch or a hatchling will grow) is blatant spam & thread abuse. 1.99 max is the official rule and, and as I've said before, it is plenty of time! I've never seen anything die that had over 1.0 days left, almost everything over 0.5 days makes it too (unless perhaps it's posted very late at night when hardly anyone is online anymore), and even a good percentage of those down to their last couple hours are saved.
Just my two cents; if any of the (new) mods want to crack down harder on the 1.99/2.00 limit I'm sure they'll chime in.

Hmmm ... so then it sounds like the 2.5 and 2.9 and such are tolerated, though not really the goal. For mine, which I keep track of and for my broods I will keep that in mind and not bother unless they're under 2.0. For the ones where they're not mine and I've stumbled across them, especially if I'm unsure they're going to receive help I'll stick to that looser guideline, if that's alright. ^^ Or ... Well, I'll see what's said in response to the question over this day and the next. I'm not concerned for me and mine, but I would like to be aware of when it's okay to post the ones that I find that may need assistance.

@_@ Okay .. either or this one's in. It was from a group that died .. but somehow it's alive again? @_@ I know I saw this one posted here and that I saw it die ... but it has less than a day somehow. ~ 1.8 days
