Hmm, so she hadn't connected the dots? Then again, Piper hadn't really made that real clear. Zahara glanced up from Malikhai for a moment but chose to hold her silence since Malikhai came first. "You look a little bit better." Reaching out to lightly push at an area and test just how long it took him to yelp. She did chuckle and shake her head. "Did my son introduce you to another of his lady friends again?" Piper got a shake of her head. 'Two is your limit. I've said it before and I'll say it again. One more would do irreparable damage, Piper." Before a look over to the female surface elf. "Might I inquire as to your name? You are talking about my services and I only give those to a select few. Are you attempting to have a baby of your own?" She could sympathize, after all she'd die if she couldn't have all of her children.
"I like doing things my way. Just makes it all the more easier." Giving him a grin, she headed off with him and glanced around. "Your mother was drow, right? Father surface elf? Which one do you take after the most?" Scanning the crowds then pointing to a young female drow that would probably be easy to convince. "If you were willing to switch things up a bit, I could find an old friend of my mother's. I don't think my uncle ever met him and he'd be willing to play for a few steel, I think."
Following at enough of a distance but keeping an eye on the young pair of elves, Zykariel stepped out and stayed under cover. He'd become adept at sneaking many years ago. Now what were his sister and this boy up to? He watched them stop amidst a gaggle of elves and frowned. Dad was probably not going to be happy...
Kelligrin wiggled when he was picked up, getting ready to fuss since he thought he wasn't going to be able to go and blinked as he was once again set down, but held up this time. "Bath!" Giggling, he liked baths. He took a shaky step, holding Nym tightly since he didn't want the ferret to fall but really he only had the poor thing around it's upper body and the rest of him was more or less dangling on the floor. "Daddy help. I catch." Thus another little step. This didn't seem to be going any faster though.

And cue annoyed look. "Lucky you, I come from a semi-closed plane...the surface elves there found no need for a high fertility." And it had bred into the genes. Whoopie. Not. But a grin and a nod to Zahara. "Yes I know. I'm not asking you for anymore. Besides, being under the watch of you and Malik is quite the frustrating experience in itself." Shaking her head though it was a curious thing that she was mentioning such things...though Zahara never passed up opportunities really. She seemed genuinely sincere, making jokes at Malikhai and everything. Okay...so like Piper herself she had married a man who was an overbearing jackass at times. Understandable.
He gave a cringe and a hiss, holding in a yelp as he was poked and and promptly took on the brood/pout look at Zahara and her poking. He really really hated that. But a blink as apparently women turned to what women did best...gossip. Or so his father and friend had told him that's what they did best at least from time to time. "Her name's Kaelin...and she's just a friend, someone Zykariel goes to school with." Not to mention Zykariel was apparently trying to set him up with the girl. "Not really in the market for queens though." Even though he was technically a prince as well so it was kinda true...eventually...maybe one day.
"Yeah, mom was drow and dad was surface. But I can't flip those around really. Pathtell is a surface name...and I was told I look more like my father anyway, just with my mother's hair and eyes. I'd rather not take chances...and I have some steel too if need be." Despite how she wanted to do it her way. But then it was onto interviewing wasn't it? People watching and pulling based on what he thought was close to his own parents and letting Faate do the talking. She was good at it. Though he rubbed at the back of his neck. "What if this doesn't work? I mean your uncle said they did business...It could of been a lie and it couldn't of been. What if I get caught like that?"
"No one likes a leech, but admittedly he hasn't been leeching so much as Faatallon has been pulling him around. You know, like Zahara does to me." Focusing on his son but holding conversation with Malik at the same time. After all they were both men who didn't appreciate deception and the like. Poor Nym though, crouching down next to his son, he helped him right his hold on Nym, or rather let Nym latch to the boy's clothing somewhat in a fashion that would give the child more balance at the moment. "So what are you going to do then when you expose him? Faate won't take kindly to it I would think." Standing once more and holding his son's hand still so he could keep his balance a moment more. "But what if I want to stay here Kel?" Letting the child's hand go again, trying to get him to walk on his own.

Malik shrugged.
"Once he's exposed, we'll deal with him. I could be wrong of course. he could just be here without his parent's permission. But if he is a street urchn, we'll see about what to do. in all honesty the proposal to have him as one of my eyes and ears in places outside my empire sounds like a good deal. a street rat has far more access then most think, and he'd get the added support and backing to make his life much better."
"I am Justwysper Wyndrider. Master Enchantress of Felwithe, or one of, at least. And yes, the subject has come up a few times. We haven't had any children yet, and honestly I'm begining to get a little concerned."
A resting her head on her hand moment, before her eyes turned back to Malikhai.
"Kaelin. From what I gathered, she's looking for a bit more than a friendly banter from you. judging from her reactions during your last match. as I recall she was using some rather...aggressive language toward your parents in thier box. or at least appeared to be doing that."

Galesen allowed the comment between both drow to slip on buy. He didn't after all want to get upset over something so little. So with not another word he turned back to his table and grabbed his drink, taking a small sip he moved over to wards their table and sat down, listening to the others as they spoke. A look to Sevilin though when he picked at the boy being surface elf. "Oh don't start on that." He muttered lightly before taking another sip.
After listing for a moment the elf leaned forward and sighed a bit. "I still think I don't have much say but I'll say it anyway. The boy is impressive with his abilities I give him that, but when you expose him go easy. He is just trying to get by and I think leeching will be the last thing on his mind." A small pause as he finished off his drink then sighed a little. "I do think that if given enough time and not bombarded with so many questions and whatnot before he will probably take your offer Malik, just give the boy the time he needs."

Zahara merely rolled her eyes to the pouting. That was a D'vinn thing. Intharas either threw a fit or stomped off but they didn't sit there and pout. And he knew she had to do it, she'd already told him why. "So they only look better but they still hurt just as bad, hmm." Thus a shake of her head and she dug in her bag and pulled out a jar of cream, tugging his hand straight out, then began gently rubbing it into Malikhai's skin. Handing Piper another jar. she gestured for her to do the same. The cream would be soothing at first because it was cool but the rubbing was likely going to make Malikhai uncomfortable and fast. "If her proof can't stop him, would the possibility of never having a child?"
It wasn't too hard to find someone willing to play Mykorian's mother. She looked like any other drow but she was one of the most motherly types that Faate had ever come upon. She shook her head and patted Mykorian's arm. "It'll work. Uncle Malik is big on proof. But if you get caught, you had a good reason. Trust me, my Uncle hates people who take advantage of his charity. By claiming you had parents, no one could pity you. Which I don't." Making that very clear.
Zykariel had seen just about all he needed to. His sister was spending her steel to hire two elves to play this boy's parents because his own were...gone? His guess was killed but he wasn't going to bring that information back until he knew for sure. Thus onto more watching and listening.
It was much easier not having to hold Nym and he'd been afraid for a minute that he was hurting the ferret and he'd get bitten. That was never fun because his finger got all gooey and it hurt. He gave his father a grin and reached down patting Nym on the head. "Stay Fuzzy. We go." Taking another step, he paused as his father let go of his hand and he wobbled unsteadily. Plopping on his butt, he looked ready to fuss and shook his head. "Daddy come. Help Kelli find sissy."

"Always looking for new fodder, aren't you Malik?" Which made him chuckle lightly...not that he found it particularlyy, but just becuase really. He didn't need excuses, the crazy was acting up. "Children such as that also have a certain pride about them. They're not molded easily. But he angled his eyes at Galesen. "The reputation that you all have made for yourselves is your own doing."
And thusly his attention turned back to his son, who apparently wasn't going to play nice nice with the walking thing. But he shook his head at the child again. "I have to stay here with Lyssie and mommy." Picking the child up a third time, but this time crouching with him again and holding both of the child's hands. Therefore, Kel was standing between Sevilin's wrists, hands on each others so he could steady himself between them. Was always good to try at least one more time on things.
Okay so in a moment of self validation and just because she was stressed, inside her head she was secretly enjoying that fact a little that they didn't have children and apparently wanted them. But she wasn't malicious enough to indulge in such thoughts for too long and thus came the sympathyzing in her head. "She likes him, it's quite cute." Taking what Zahara had handed over and being gentle with her son, or at least to the levels she could tell through bonds that he could tolerate. But then a blink...as Zahara decided to start playing dirty. Piper knew what Justwysper was going to feel at that moment...it was like holding a hunk of meat in front of a starving dog. The presentation of a way to get things you wanted but you had to play by someone else's game.
He supposed her words were true enough and he elected to let her be the optimist in the situation. IF things went wrong, well he had evasion techniques that he could use to make things work now didn't he? Very much so. So then, mother secured they tagged the woman along until they found a suitable replacement father as well. Then it was all about filling them both in on vital information, and making sure they were going to stick together and anything else that he could think of to relay. He was nervous though and it was clear in his body language. "I feel like I'm going to throw up."

"they usually don't need much molding. the streets teach them all the need to survive and adapt. you just have to refine them. like ore."
though a slight smirk.
"Always, no. but I don't pass up a good opportunity if I can help it. I can't be everywhere, and I still don't trust a human any farther than I can throw him. any and all eyes and ears I can get in the human empire are valuable."
Justwysper's eyes got dark. dark, mean, and very, very cruel. obviously Zahara's dirty trick had struck some cord somewhere that wasn't a pleasent one.
"That is very unfair statement to be making. I don't control my husband's mind and thoughts anymore than any wife. But if you want to talk about what I can do and what I can't do. you obviously haven't seen many in my trade at thier full ability. I could get whatever formula you used from your mind wether you wanted to tell me or not."
She got herself up from the chair she was sitting in, and moved to the door. yes she was upset. quite upset.
"I'll be waiting for your guest to arrive, Lady D'vinn. please inform me or the innkeeper when he or she arrives."
Before leaving the room, and robably closing the door a bit harder than she needed to. an illusion spell later and she left without anyone knowing who she was.

Zahara quirked an eyebrow and then chuckled, "You're a woman. Of course you do. You convinced your husband to allow this chance, did you not?" Score for Zahara. And as soon as that door slammed, she just wanted to laugh and laugh. "They always think that, don't they? I'll just snap my fingers and you'll give it all up. Malik threatened that too as I recall and she would get the same response Malik would have. It's not in my head so that does neither of them any good. Personally, I didn't think it unfair at all. She wants to let her husband take yours away so it's only fair she should lose something in the bargain as well, don't you think? It's all about family and honor. Wyndriders strips the D'vinn's of theirs and subsequently they lose theirs. Seems fair to me."
Mother and father both secured in relatively little time and even less cost. THe drow had been only too willing to play the part but the father was a little more difficult. At the very least they'd found one that had nothing against drow and he really did look like Mykorian. She patted his back lightly. "If you feel like you have to, then do so. Everyone will put it up to nerves when you show up in the competition. If you don't want to, I could give you something to settle your stomach?" Digging in her pocket and extracting a vial her mother had given her. "Here."
Kelligrin frowned at that and shook his head. "Daddy play find sissy!" He held on and took another step but glanced back uncertainly and nearly plopped on his butt. Grabby hands on his father's tunic he started to fuss, his breathing picking up as if he was going to cry. "I fall!"

Galesen just angled his eyes right back at Sevilin without hesitation. "You know for a fact not all 'surface' elves fall into that reputation. But hey if you want to look at it like that then go ahead." He really wished that the guy would stop placing ever single surface elf in the same place. "Well hey if you can get this kid to come aboard then that's good. His skills will be put to better use than now." Galesen had to agree that having the kid under Malik's wing would be good. After waiting a few minutes he asked for another drink then turned to the blue elf. "So how are you going to go about all of this?

"I suppose you're right. Besides, spreading across different platforms of beings to get your information has been a well known tactic for millenia." Turning his eyes up to Galesen a moment, "Show me a surface elf who has never committed a wrong against another in some form or fashion that wasn't ill intent or for pure manipulation and then maybe I'll change my tune." But again his attention went back to his son and the child's frustration. If he had known the child wanted to go so badly, he would of let Zykariel take him. But there was the about to cry breathing. "I promise I won't let you fall." A nod to thier hands, "See? I have you."
And apparently a nerve had been struck. But at the same time...it was true. If they wanted to take her husband from her, then why should she even give them the chance of a child by her or Zahara's knowledge? But there hadn't been much room for argument or soothing as she made a quick and angry exit. No need to slam doors, but if she wanted to fair enough. "You have a point and at the same time I can understand her frustration at such proposals. You tried to do it to me when it came to Dhairiss. Still...call me selfish if you wish but I don't feel it fair at all to give her something when her husband wants to take away something of mine. But speaking of children, " turning a look on Malikhai, "He needs some food in him."
He took the vial and studied it a moment before tucking it in his pocket for the moment. He may feel like he had to throw up but he was good at supressing his need to hurl...no one liked loosing the food you got that day and making yourself hungry all over again. "Right competition. Come on we need to go sign me up before I miss out." Thusly heading over to officials with her...whom indeed gave skpetical looks but with name drops he was handed paper to fill out with Faate before giving it back. "Okay...so I guess I get my equipment from your uncle?"

"Very easy. he'll compete, I'll take him aside, call him out on what he's hiding, and we'll go from there. depends on how obstinant he is. though Jiscal's human empire is still here, and portion of it has transfered surface side, I still would prefer to keep an eye on things. I don't trust the human empire as I've said, anymore than I trust the Llothians."
though he did point a pork at Sevilin.
"point taken, but there are more than enough documented occasions of the same happening among the Tier'dal and drow breeds to warrant the same kind of thing form the surface. and more often, too."

"Well so can I but if she wants me to provide life then she better get pretty adept at figuring out a way to keep her husband from taking it away. May sound harsh but she's nothing to me. You, on the other hand, are nearly everything. Only Sevilin means more and that's required." She took a breath and then shook her head and finished rubbing the cream into Malikhai's skin. Stepping into the bathroom, she ran a rag under water and brought it out to Piper to wash her hands. "We can order him some or we can take him downstairs and let him eat there."
He'd seen all he needed to see really. Talking to those two hadn't proved very fruitful and he had a feeling that his sister and her friend had paid them for their silence. He wasn't stupid though and he certainly had something to report so he headed back to the tavern. "They're signing him up as we speak. They should be back soon." And speak of the devil, there she was.
She backed up Mykorian's story, name dropping like crazy and then nodded. "Yeah I think so. He seems to be the one who's willing to sponsor you and whatnot." Thus back to the tavern and she plopped back down at the table.
Kelligrin held tighter and calmed slightly taking another step and then looking up as his brother came in and he shook his head. "Sissy? Find sissy! Find sissy! Daddy?!" Really beginning to fuss now and he let go of his father's hands and tried to turn but fell instead. Thus began the tears.

Finishing things off and applying names and the like where they needed to be, it was back to the tavern. Hopefully this time they wouldn't grill him about things, but he remained standing this time, turing a look to Malik and giving one of those little respectful nods. "Okay, all signed up. Things start in about an hour or so."
"But has it not become such an occurance that it is expected from the elves that live below the ground? Surface elves are supposed to be the ones who are all good and benevolent and what not. However that is not the truth...but politics are something I really don't care to discuss too much at the moment." Catching his son before he truly fell but not fast enough for the child's liking and thus Sevilin picked him up and retook his seat, laying the child against his shoulder and soothingly patting at his back as Nym took to occupying the other shoulder. "Well it was worth a shot." But his attention turned to the little pack of elves that came back, "Everything settled?"
"Nice to know I win. And I suppose all that trying to hurt me and stuff got solved by providing the greater means for having children." Wiping her hands off on the rag that she brought back, she handed Dhairiss to Zahara. "You take this one, and I'll help this one. Movement is a good thing for him. More he moves around the better he'll feel." Thusly slipping an arm around her son and pulling him up, helping him downstairs and the like. Look at that, all the menfolk and children at one table. "Not out causing havoc yet?"

"Good. time enough for you and I to have a little talk."
Getting himself up, and expecting the boy to follow...before giving a kiss to his wife and helping his oldest into teh seat he had been occupying.
"I'll be back in a few minutes."
A grin to his wife.
"and who said we had to go anywhere to cause havoc on any scale?"
drumming his fingers a moment, taking the boy outside were other ears weren't so easy to hear. handing over a bandolier of throwing knives.
"Now. I want you to come clean. I looked at the ledger. there's no pathtell, no mykorian. I know your hiding things, but this particular thing is of some importance if you'd like to keep you head on your shoulders."
crossing his arms.
"you aren't staying here. so exactly how did you get to my niece without any member of the staff seeing you and without her father being alerted to you?"

Faate frowned as Mykorian was taken outside. Glancing at her father and waiting for her brother to pipe down slightly, she shook her head. "Where's he going? What's going on? Daddy?" If he started badgering or something like that, Mykorian would just stand there and take it and that wasn't fair. At all.
Zykariel knew exactly what was going on and shrugged. "Probably teaching him a thing or two about throwing." But giving a sympathetic nod to Malikhai. He still looked pretty bad. "Look who's no longer soup. Mom turn you a funny color, poke and prod then force you downstairs to eat or was that combination of the moms?" He was in a rather good mood considering he hadn't fought once with his father.
"What was worth a shot?" Zahara's eyebrow quirked at the sound of her youngest's tears. She'd been monitoring bonds and knew his feelings were spiking in various directions but since Sevilin had him, she restrained herself. Setting Dhairiss in a seat at the table, she grabbed a piece of toast from a plate on the table and took a bite. "Everything's fine. We had a visitor but she left in a rush. I think I pissed her off." Glancing at Dhairiss. "Hungry little one? What would you like to eat?"
Kelligrin quieted and rubbed his face against the soft material of his father's tunic. It didn't take long to calm him down and his ears perked at the sound of his mother's voice and then his brother and sister's as well. Well that was much better. Now his whole family was where there were supposed to be. Twisting in his father's arms, he reached for his cup. "Mommy! Lookit."
