Well, what makes them so special? Are Echani from any published Star Wars or fan made up?

I do beleive they are canon, as they appear in KotOR 2. If I'm not mistaken, they have great fighting prowess, and make high quality items. ^^

Echani are basically a newer culture. They are like the Mandos, but don't believe in the heavy armor and whole tribal instinct kind of gig. They're into light armor, hand to hand combat, and belive fighting a person for five minutes tells you more about someone than talking for five hours, so they tend to be very ritual in their fights.
good summary right there.
I just tend to like them so much better than the mandos because everyone can't stop ranting about mandelorians. I mean, its good and all, but its like going into a thread about hayden christenson at times...

And I'm one of the guild's foremost experts on them.

I mean, after Vizsla's Death Watch only ruining all the Mandalorian culture, people and planets. And don't forget about Boba bringing all the Mandalorians to defeat the Vong. And with such Mandalore's like Boba Fett and most likely Kad'ika after him, the Mandalorians shouldn't be fighting. And Kad'ika is all for reuniting the people, and ALL the Mandalorians are for it. And, from the sounds of this Civil War, Mandos are just being killed off like Stormtroopers on the Death Star when it blew up! I mean, come on, thats not the Mandalorian way or path at all! stressed ... Ok, I'm done ranting... Thus is why Anzle is not involved in such that "War"

Thus is why Anzle is not involved in such that "War" The reason behind the whole 2nd Mando civil war is simple. EK played the Mandos as warmongering morons and basically played them all wrong. I created Mandalore the Immortal to show people how REAL Mando's fight and live. Then it ballooned into Separate camps, with The Mando of the Mandalorian Sector being all conquest driven, and the Mando'ade outside of the sector being the more Traditional ones. Then Stellar Magic threatened all Mandalorians because of EK's actions, holding the entire culture responsible for allying with Kenet. Kenet wouldnt do a damn thing about it. But I did. I eneded up allying with the Empire to defeat Kenet on the grounds that the Empire would give Mandalore the Immortal control over the entire Mandalore Sector upon victory.

Well, how its been aimed so far in the time period between the book Star Wars Bloodlines, and Issue #1 of Legacy, this is what should be happening based on text from the book right in front of me:
SPOLIERS!
1- Fett retires finally from Bounty Hunting to become a full fledged Mand'alor. 2- The Vong were a wake up call that the Mandalorians/Mando'ade can not just stay as clans, but unite on Mandalore as one people. And, all surviving Mandalorians of the Vong War are beginning to fallow this idea. They want a strong symbol to lead them into something new on Mandalore. (Basically to be a world army-for-hire) And, when not fighting or training, then farming and building an economy. 3- A Mandalorian that is becoming well known by all other Mando'ade is Kad'ika, who supports Boba Fett, and is trying to help unit the people as well, and Boba Fett would like to meet this Kad'ika, because, someone will have to become Mand'alor after Boba Fett. I mean, come on, Boba Fett is 69 by 40ABY.
[EDIT:ADD] So, basically, my point is, by this time, Mandalore, and all Mandalorians/Mando'ade should have a strong economy and culture! Not some blasted Civil War leaded by some Vizsla thinking Warlord!
Ok, now I'm done ranting... stare

Well, at least that explains why its happening a little better...
I'm sorry, I have just been Mando at heart ever since I saw Fett on my old black and white TV when I was like 4 or 5.
