Ren turned back to his throws and took a pose. This one was the same as the one prior to the one he tried before. He figure spinning in place to release kunai...or fluttering across the battlefield while dancing could one day save his life. His dancing could quite possibly distract an opponent, leading them into false sense of security, thus paying the price as a result. He knew that masters of his family's dance use similar methods.

With a last look over at Andou-Sensei to keep his mind in check, Ren took aim - his eyes focused on the wall intently. He was ready to try it again he figured so gripped the ball as he was instructed to and loosened up his muscles in the rest of his body, preparing to jump and twirl.

With his left foot pushing him upwards, Ren gracefully spun almost like a petal in the wind, almost seeming to hover as he tossed the ball. The ball whizzed through the air and hit directly where Ren had intended, after which bounced off and rolled to the ground accordingly. When Ren reached the ground again, he ran his fings through his bangs, a bit pleased with himself.

"Hmm.. my reason?" Andou echoed. He really had to think for this one. It was so long ago! Not to mention his time in the organisation had really clouded parts of his childhood memories. "It was just the typical shinobi clan reason. I come from a reasonably adept swordsman clan. I suppose it was just the thing to do." Andou was nothing if not brutally honest. "Sorry if it undermines your reasons. The reason i wanted your reasons was to get a feeling of how committed you would be to the course. I will say that I grew to enjoy shinobi training after a time, though. I was exposed to different people and styles that I couldn't come into contact with training at home," he mused aloud.

"As for becoming a teacher, well, I did choose that. It was right after our last Kage invaded. Mistress-sama,"
Andou clarified. "She liquidated my job so I had to look for a new one." And I wanted to make sure the academy kids didn't turn into fascist clones of each other, Andou also thought, but refrained from saying out loud. It would be a bit embarrassing to say that in fact.

He watched Ren experiment with stances, inwardly amused at his obviously off-balance attempt. "I'm not a medic-nin," Andou replied him. "I know basic medical techniques, but it was more out of necessity. I had to widen my scope a bit in order to become an academy teacher," he said to his students. "You see shinobi who claim to specialise in a certain type of techniques, but you'll find that they often know lots of techniques from other branches of the shinobi arts as well, especially if they're experienced." Not that Andou was claiming to be.

Batosai sudden joy turned into disappointment. Not because he didn't think about picking the lock, which was so obivious, but he had to do training in ranged combat. It didn't really bother Batosai, it really didn't, he just wanted to enhance his weak points. He was weak in taijutsu, but when it came to ranged fighting Batosai was nearly advanced, well in his class anyways. But he learnt it the hard way, its Andou's way or he'll throw you over the school. Batosai picked up a nearby tennis ball. He really didn't want to practice, but he knew that he have to. Batosai quickly threw his arm forward, letting go of the ball too early. The ball bounced hard againgst the ground as it sped across the field and stop as it hit the wall.

Batosai let a a quiet sigh as he watched the ball fly across the ground. "This is so boring. Why doesn't Andou give me something worth learning already?" he thought. Batosai may be very ambitious, but he wasn't as calm or focused as Andou. But what could he do? He knew from the previous classmates that if you complained, the entire class had to work harder. He wasn't willing to do that to Ren or Gennosuke. Not when they only just started here at the academy.

Batosai slowly headed towards the wall to retrieve his ball. On his way there, he focus his attention on Andou's conversation with his other peers. Hearing a lot into their conversation reminded Batosai of a lot of memories here. Mistress-sama upon his arrival to the village. Batou and Cassie on his first day of class. As he picked up his ball and walked back to his spot he remembered Hiru, Vesime, Jericho, and his previous peers in the obstacle course. Those were all his memories on what seemed to be the good days. But for those days to return, he didn't know.

Batosai turned his head and looked over to the outer wall. He held the ball between his thumb and index finger and held it like he was throwing darts. Batosai then lightly moved his right arm back to his head and threw it. The ball flew quickly threw the air as if it was paper and striked the wall. It recoiled against the wall and started bouncing back towards Batosai, only stopping a few yards away.

Batosai slowly walked the few yards to retrieve his ball. But he rushed back to his spot right away, feeling like a dog playing catch with itself. He positioned himself like before and held his arm forward. He bend his arm up and down, like he was aiming for a certain spot on the wall. Suddenly, in a split second, Batosai stretch his arm out, releasing the ball. It flew throught the air and struck the wall.

Ren nodded as he ran quickly over to get his ball, an almost routine regiment now during this training. He looked to Andou-sensei and spoke warmly," Well, I appreciate it, I really do. I don't think I could have moved a step more if it weren't for that. I should probably keep that in mind..." he paused a moment to think as he walked back to his starting position.

He once again gripped the ball and took his strange stance. He was getting more accustomed to it for now, but planned on mixing things up after a few more successful throws. After all, he wanted to prove to Andou-sensei that he can effectively use both his arms for ranged combat. His smile almost glued to his face by this point he begins.

As he twirled, once again gracefully lifting himself off of the ground, Ren had let go yet another ball hit the targeted wall with ease. He was surprised that he was doing so well and had 1/3 of the training for this portion of the course completed. His mind instantly went back to Andou-sensei...would he be proud of him if he were to complete the rest of the training before everyone else?

Ren was getting a little overconfident by this point, he normally hadn't let himself ever get so carried away with himself. As he went to retrieve the ball, his mind was clouded by the thought of Andou-sensei's approval. If he could somehow make Andou proud, he would be making his father proud as well.

Walking back to his starting position, he wasn't expecting anything to go wrong with his training. As he took stance, it was clear his mind wasn't completely focused on the task. He gripped the ball and began to whirl upwards.

He lifted himself off the ground but come time to throw the ball, it slipped out of his grip and flew across the field, only to hit the ground and roll to a stop. Ren's mind snapped back to reality and realized he had not been focused on his work. He had to do much better if he would ever prove himself. A lesson was learned for the most part.

Ren went hastily to fetch his ball from the ground across the yard. He figured this time would be very different for him. He focused himself once he reached his starting point. He attempted to clear his mind before beginning so gripped the ball and took stance.

Ren's smile still remained, even though he was blushing quite red, being that he felt silly for getting cocky. Medic-nins are supposed to help their allies, and being prideful can only cause their allies to become endangered. He had to make sure to remember what he was trying to prove.

With a few minutes dedicated to clearing his mind, Ren leaped a little off the ground with a wonderful spin. Everything seemed perfect, but just as Ren let go of the ball, he threw it too low. In fact, the ball flew and did hit the wall, but not where he had aimed. He chalked this up as a failure and went to retrieve his ball.

Usually young students would have been pleased or cheerful that they did something right. But that wasn't the case for Batosai. All he did was let out a sigh. He was a bit displeased that he missed his mark just by a few inches. He grabbed the ball and walked back to his usual spot. Batosai wasn't really that focused as he usually was. His mind was still day dreaming as his mind wondered off into the memories of the past. If his emotionless face didn't show it his performance did. Batosai threw the ball but it just hit the ground only a few inches from the wall.

"Ugh...I'm so not in the mood for this. I got better training I need to do than this. How does he expect me to become a fine shinobi if he keeps training me on the basics?" he thought. Batosai grabbed his ball and squeezed it into his hand until his palms hurt. He always hated being behind in class. Yet when he finally turns out ahead of the class, he gets stuck are their level. He didn't want to seem shallow about it, but he felt like this training they were doing was under him. Like he should be doing other things that this. In his sudden temper tantrum, he threw the ball as he could. It struck the in between the wall and ground.

After the throw, Batosai started to get control of his temper. He really didn't like showing his emotions and he wasn't going to start now. All he wanted to do is be the best the village could offer. He knew he shouldn't be mad, but he just couldn't help it. How can he become stronger if he stuck here? He looked over at Ren. Already, and Ren is making progress. Batosai was hit a little hard by it, but deep down he was pleased at Ren. Especially since Ren did it with a grin on his face, and yet remained so calm. "Maybe I should give it a try." Batosai thought. He closed his eyes and concentrated very hard on his target. He Threw the ball, and just like that the ball hit right in the center of the wall.

Batosai let out a small grin on his face. Maybe keeping calm was the key. Hell that would explain how Andou probably survive this long as a shinobi. But Batosai didn't want to think about him, not when he was just a few yards away. All he needed to do was complete the training exercise, even if its just throwing a ball to a wall a dozen times. He attempt to throw the ball didn't go as well as he planned. Batosai lost his grip and accidently dropped it on the ground.

Batosai faced turned a little red after dropping the ball. He just hoped that no one else was paying attention to him. Or let alone seen his little embarassment. But all he had to was just forget about it and continue the exercise. He would forget about it. That little moment was locked up inside his mind. Batosai focused his mind on trying again. Batosai held the ball tightly in his hand. As he moved his arm back to throw it, his muscles suddenly cried out in agony. Batosai dropped the ball in pain as he placed his other hand on his right shoulder.

Batosai rubbed his right shoulder as the pain slowly starting disappearing. Batosai moved his shouder around, stretching it. "I probably just over exerted myself. Not really suprising when it concerns me anyways. Should do a little stretching so that doesn't happen again." Batosai thought. Batosai started stretching his body, from head to toe. He didn't really care about pain, it comes with the job. But he was deeply pleased to not have injured himself, he had enough of those these days.

Once he felt like he did enough stretching, he picked up the ball off the ground and turned his attention back to his target. Batosai did a few practice throws, not letting go of the ball. Feeling like he finally hit his comfort zone, he started to focus and keep his mind clear and calm. He threw the ball. The ball landed on its mark, exactly on the spot.
