"Technically I'm not. I'm not even a minor one," he explained. "Thanks the Gods for that. I do have some powers, but not many." He glared at Ares some more. "... and it's not 'Anteros' it's 'Ross', if you would!"

Ever glared at Ares. "Fine then. You're not joking. You're just adding another element to your sick game that I refuse to play any longer!"
Then, she turned to Ross again, getting a little dizzy from turning her head so often. "And so, you ARE a god, un-technically speaking?! And you didn't feel it was important to tell me this?! And what the hell is up with you two?! You're fighting more with each other than I am with Ares!"

Ares, now thoroughly disgruntled, grumbled something before glaring at Evermore. "Riiiiiight. Because I've been playing a damn game with you. Of course." He ignored 'Ross'.

”Sure,” he said to her. ”Whatever. I only make up a ‘whole’ God when with my brothers… and you didn’t exactly give me time to tell you anything since you threw yourself at me!” he said calmly. ”… and since your accusing me of not telling a random stranger girl ‘anything’… your φίλος* there happens to be my Father!”

Ever's jaw dropped and she let out a rush of air as if she had been kicked in the gut.
She looked back and forth between Ares and Ross quickly, many times. The passion, the flippant attitude, the facial structure...
God, it all made sense now! Horrible, sickening sense!
Ever started to look, and feel, sick. She reached her hands up to her temples and dug her fingers into her hair.
"Oh God.... Oh God!"
She ran, and she had no idea where she was running to. She just ran to get away. She had almost had sex with Ares' son! His SON!
If she had noticed, she was running toward the forest, at night. Not exactly smart.

"s**t!" Ares, not even bothering to say anything, ran after Evermore. What was she thinking? The forest was almost deadly at night! "Evermore!"

(EDIT)
Unable to bear watching on the sidelines any longer, Aphrodite appeared in front of Ares and her son. "You," she said, "Are both idiots! What did you say to her?! Never mind... I don't want to know," she hissed. "You better make up by the time I get back or else!" Ares, however, seemed to have a mind of his own. That dummy! He'll screw her up for good!
Storming off, she turned and ran after Evermore and Ares. Evermore had run into the forest... she must be really angry not to realize it. Taking a deep breath to center herself, Aphrodite caught up with Evermore. "Ever, sweetheart..." she said softly with no trace of her usual standoffish tone, "Will you please slow down?"

Ever shook her head, tears forming in her eyes, when she heard Ares call out after her. "Leave me alone, Ares! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
She wasn't looking where she was going, her tears and emotions blinding her, and she bumped right into a tree. She didn't bump hard, but she did scrape up her forearms.
She hissed and pushed herself away from the tree. "Dammit..."
She looked down at her arms, wondering how she could have run into a tree when she was running in the opposite direction of the only tree by the lake.
Then, when she heard a distant cackling sound, Ever raised her head and found that she had run directly into the forest by Bai Ching.
"Oh.... s**t...."
Then, suddenly, Aphrodite was at her side. Finally, she just screamed. She threw her head back and screamed loudly, her three-tone octave Fury voice coming through. Several birds flew out of the tops of the trees and other animals in the distance reacted by screeching themselves.
When she was done, she threw her head back down and glared at Aphrodite. "YOU are the last person I need to see right now!"

"Yes," Aphrodite said sadly, "I know. You hate me. You wish I just didn't exist. I get it..." she said softly. "Sometimes," she said quietly, "Even the best, toughest, and the bravest of us need someone else to listen to them. You've been mistreated and abused, Evermore. I promise that won't happen again. You are now free from your mother's control," Aphrodite said, looking unusually small and contrite. She looked at Ever's forearms. "Will you let me heal those for you?"

Ares came up quickly, finding Evermore and Aphrodite. "Evermore..." he said. "Listen to me, please!" He hated how he sounded like he was begging, how he knew he was begging. It disgusted him. She wasn't facing him, and he took advantage of that, grabbing her around the waist and holding her. Mostly, it was to keep her from trying to run away.

"Let her go, Ares," Aphrodite said in a deadly voice. "If you respected her at all, you'd listen to her and leave her alone until she's ready to talk to you. If you know what's good for you, you'd let her go." Aphrodite sighed. She wouldn't make Evermore sit and talk to her... she would let her choose. Ares needed to learn that not everyone wanted to be forced to listen all the time.

{{What is Ross doing now? Just curious b/c he just kinda... got left behind. lol!}}
She gasped when Ares grabbed her from behind and she instantly started fighting him. She tried to get out of his embrace, but he was far too strong. It was like his arms were cement walls.
Just him touching her was making her think of how she had not only kissed Ares but his son as well. And it made her think of his betrayal, his false words and emotions to her just to entice her to find the Room and whatever was in the lake.
Aphrodite's words were all bleeding together and she couldn't make sense out of any of them, and Ares' words were like nails on a blackboard.
She screamed loudly at both of them. "Would both of you two just SHUT UP! I don't want to listen to either of you! I don't want to listen to anymore gods! You just play mind games! That's all you do!"

"I'm not here to tell you what to do, I'm here to listen to you if you want me too... Now may I have the pleasure of getting him off you? I'd just love the opportunity to punch him in the face!" she said, unable to keep the glee from her voice.

Ross stood stunned for a minute. Whenever mom and dad got together these days, it was never a good thing. Sighing, he jogged after Evermore. He found them easily enough... Evermore's shouting led the way.
Anger flashed through him when he saw his father holding Evermore, obviously against her will. He also heard his mother's gleeful tone. He sighed, and stood by his mother. "Ares, let her go!" he said threateningly.

Ares didn't let go and didn't loosen his grip at all. "Evermore," he said, holding her close. His armor rippled and was replaced by his normal leather get-up, allowing him to hold her closer. "Pepromene mou..." He didn't care that she knew what that meant now. He just didn't.
"I don't want to play any games with you."
