One of my biggest peeves with RPs have been how in an RP you always get at least one person who fears age.

You know, the person who in the age category puts some large number in the hundreds or thousands but say that they look something in their late teens or early twenties.

The fact that most characters are rarely over 26 and actually looks it annoys me a little.

Does aging for certain immortals and elfin like races stop at 25?

To address Bern's peeve, I think my oldest character is late thirties. I actually avoid going to high over my own age because I don't think I can properly imagine what it would be like to be an older age and don't want to portray it badly.

I learned this because, I used to be a teenage kid playing a 24 year old, and looking back at it, I realize how immature I played the character...definitely not suitable for any adult.

So yeah, I can foresee my character's ages increasing as I age myself.

But wouldn't you think that with all of that time being 'immortal' or slowly aging they would be mature for their physical age?

I admit that for once I've actually created an 'immortal' character, but she is newly immortal and this immortality comes with sort of regenerating every day from any wound she may get and the process of regeneration is a very very painful process, one that makes her wish that she were dead. So now she lives trying to find someone who can kill her.

It's the immortality as a curse cliche yes (got the idea from our villain thread), but she looks the age that she is and acts accordingly.

Ugh, Immortality. I don't even want to imagine existing forever. Even the few immortal characters I have haven't exceeded a natural lifespan yet and aren't really aware that they will live beyond that.

In an old RP I was in, a guy was playing a vampire who was around 10,000 years old. A friend of mine lampshaded in RP that the guy was playing that character as a petulant child even though he was supposed to be some wise and ancient creature.

I think the oldest character I've made stopped aging in his forties. He was a mad scientist type though, so sensibility was going to be a questionable thing from the get go. He doesn't actually know how much longer he's going to live yet, but he used his genetic tinkering to restore himself to his physical peak, and subsequently to gain superhuman capabilities.

Most of my immortals are bat s**t crazy unless they're absolutely alien in mentality. I depressingly enough have trouble with being 25. I can't imagine past 200.

But think of all of the people who wants to live forever as teen or 21 year old.

I don't know about you but that's not a time I'd like to live through. And very rarely do you get someone who does it wisely, such as making it happen while one woman is menstruating so for the rest of her immortal life she is on the rag.

Think of the one guy who will forever be stuck in that awkward red pimple ridden stage of puberty where their voice hasn't fully changed so it's constantly squeaking with an upward affliction. And even younger for the poor boy whose balls haven't dropped yet. There should be more immortals who suffers the cons of it vs the pros.

I think what annoys me the most are rpers who are Damsel in Distress 24/7.

Either they suddenly faint in the shower for no apparent reason or gets kidnap by a side character they created on their own. :/

Yeah, and guess who tend to play the Damsel in Distress? =_=

Speaking of damsel in distress types here is something somewhat funny.

I was talking with my hun the other night and to get his goat I said that the Super Mario Brothers movie was the best movie ever made.

He sort of went off and ranted before finally asking, "Why Princess Daisy? Why didn't they go with Peach?"

My answer was that if they had gone with Peach then near the end of the movie where they finally get to the room to rescue her that little Toadstool guy would be sitting there telling them that the princess was in another room in another building so the horror of the movie would have lasted much longer.

Anyhow a damsel in distress type of woman is rather rare in RPs. We have plenty of strong, independent females in these RPs. Finding a well balanced weak damsel has been hard.

In most cases people (mainly girls) who does the damsel in distress wants the focus of the RP to be all on her. She wants it to revolve around her, and she wants at least two guys to be in love with her, perhaps the villain too.

Which is why in some movies I think that the damsel is really the villain, if it wasn't for her I'm pretty sure none of that would be going on.

Makes me want to try it my next RP around.

This might be a rhetorical question, but I'm going to ask who.

For me my current one is people who ditch a one x one in the planning stage, or just when you make the thread to start posting. I've had that once this week so far. The girl plotted out with me, I made the thread with character skeletons, posted mine, and just was waiting for her to post her character and intro. She never posted. After a few days and seeing t hat she was active else where I asked if she was going to post. The PM I got said that her internet had been spotty (A lie as she had been on all day for the two previous days) and that she was going on a trip soon and would have to say no to the roleplay. When I tried to reply, she put me on her ignore list preventing me from trying to ask if we could just start after she got back.

Some rpers I like to call "desperates" go back to the previous or so and you'll get the gist of it.

I love the news, it's just so mentally deadening the things people decide to focus on rather than the problems we're facing.

I got a small chuckle out of this ironic situation how a motorcyclist died during a rally to protest helmet laws. What could have saved his life? If he was wearing a damn helmet! I've been to the classes I've learned how important it is to wear your helmet while riding a bike. It's like wearing a seatbelt in a car. By law you should have it on.

Yeah I laughed at it. And I bitched at one woman who was going through the comments wagging her finger and tsking at anyone who pointed out that it was like a Darwin Award nominee.

Anyhow my biggest peeve with the news came from learning how people have gone crazy over the violence in Mortal Kombat. And how in Cali they where trying to push the violent video game law.

I've played games where you could use a baby as a weapon during a fight. Funniest thing in the world! The baby lives but still it's as funny as the first time you see the girls' boobs bounce in DOA.

My peeve is this. These games all come with that little rating box on the back. I get carded at my game store every single time I buy a rated M game. The game industry has done their part to make sure that kids don't get their hands on games they shouldn't. To me it's the parents fault for not paying attention, instead they whip out the cash and pay out so that they feel like they are a good mommy and daddy and no one fights. It's so easy to put the blame on others.

Now if they want to see violence inspired by video games I dare them to try and take it away from people. Gamers will put on cosplay t-shirts, and everything in support of their games and riot!

Yeah you do NOT take away video games from people. It is a very scary image.

(Knows from seeing after effects in grounded friends) xD

My petpeeve: Sister that says she is only staying a few days on Thursday and so far is showing no signs of leaving while the kids are starting to get on everybody's nerves.

That and the person that rear ended the car two days ago leading to spending 5 hours in the hospital to get no pain meds after saying at least 6 times my head was killing me. (Got a touch of whiplash. I'm okay~)
