Thom relaxed visibly once they had Lucas's agreement, sinking down in his coil as if he were sitting at the base of the tree. "Bia. Bia worked inside th' labs, she knows 'er way around. Newt probably does as well, at that, though he won't know th' details of much. That'll be a start, an' from there...maybe I can get inside. Air vents or some such. I'm quiet."
Laughing once more, he shook his head. "Ah, I don't know. Look, I shouldn't stay 'ere much longer. I don't think we're goin' t' make much progress today. I need to talk to Newt, talk to Oz.. Just keep in touch. If you come up with any ideas, let me know. An' start talkin' with more people about it. People you trust... Or anyone who's against th' labs an' smart enough t' keep 'is mouth shut."

Gaius's ears perked up as Lucas talked, his intensity fading a bit. Slowly, he nodded. "Yeah... no, we don't want to go into this without thinking... I'm just anxious... You're right though, we should think it over."
The need for information was a problematic one... Gaius scratched his scruffy black beard. Then Thom spoke up. He blinked. "Bia?" Slowly, a smile crossed his face.
"Right then," he nodded as the snake finished, standing up himself. "We know what we need to do for now... I'll search out more people who'd be loyal to us. But be careful if you do talk to anyone... Talk near the ocean, as far from the cameras as you can get. That's the best way."

"I didn't know that Bia used to work for the labs." Lucas rubbed his neck while he processed that information.
Lucas shrugged. "I was just throwing it out there. Things to consider and all. Talk to Newt and let Oz know. Just don't do anything stupid and get yourself caught." Pulling himself back to his feet, Lucas stretched, tail twitching. "I don't know what I can do, but I'll try to get more information. Not sure who I would talk to, though." He already felt pretty useless to the group. "If you need anything you can try to contact us."

"Bia told me what I was turnin' in to," Thom offered dryly, mind wandering back to the unfortunate meeting in the entertainment room.
However, after a beat he smiled and lifted a hand in goodbye. "I'll be in touch." And, turning, he quickly climbed back up into the tree he had earlier vacated, from there beginning away through the branches, very soon completely lost to sight from the path.

"Don't do anything stupid. Right, I can do that," Gaius chuckled. Of course, knowing the pegasus-man's track record...
Hope springs eternal?
Stretching out his arms and wings with a grunt, Gaius waved at the snake before turning back to Lucas and giving the dog-man a nod. "I should be going too, I think. Don't want to get caught here when they fix the cameras, and they might get suspicious." Catching Vixen's leash, he began off into the jungle with a wave over his shoulder. "I'll be seeing you. Good luck!"

In response, Lucas lifted his own hand to Thom as the snake took off up the closest tree and disappeared.
He nodded to Gaius. "I was thinking the same. I'd rather not deal with any staff members myself." Turning to head in a different direction, Lucas called after him. "Take care of yourself. Good luck." Lowering his hand, the dhole signalled to the two dogs and they started back for the Village.

NEW RP
The meeting had gone well, and Thom had spent the following few days loitering about the path to the beach in the hopes that someone else might happen by. He had made a point of avoiding the spot where he had broken the camera, and thus far had no risks or run ins with the guards. Cameras were all angled towards the path and easily avoided, especially once Thom had settled himself comfortably in the lower branches of a tree to wiat. He was visible, but would be easily missed if one wasn't paying attention. That was good enough for him.

Zach felt restless, even a little sick. It had been some time since the night he got drunk. He remembered the dhole was there, for some reason, and discussing things that in retrospect may not have been the best things to say to him. Too late to do anything but hope that Lucas had been just as drunk, or more.
The jungle still seemed like a dangerous place, and Zach never ventured near it if he could help it. The neat path between the village and the beach was the closest he would get. There were usually people around the beach at all times of day, but if he was lucky there would be no one. In all honesty he couldn't swim; not before when he had only one arm, and not now that he was weighted down by a few extra limbs. Wading into the ocean was about the closest he got to it. There was something about swimming that intrigued him, and being unable to was just as much of a mental itch as not being able to fly. He wanted to do both, but he couldn't.
He should have been paying attention to his surroundings (and more importantly, to the presence of a familiar human snake in a tree not far away), but he had been lulled into a false sense of security over the past few months. He'd buzzed out Thom with the panic button before, and he could do it again to anyone who threatened him. What with all the cameras around here, no one would think of ambushing him for the hell of it. Yes, for a victim of multiple attempts on his life, he was pretty safe.

As safe as once could be when presented with a would-be murderer in the middle of a jungle, anyway. Thom's tongue had alerted him to the dragon's approach, and a please smirk had crafted itself onto his face by the time he caught sight of Zach through the trees. While he awaited Zachary's approach, he glanced around for cameras, picking one out a short distance up the path, but none in the immediate area. Perfect.
He waited in silence until the dragon was almost directly infront of him on the path, then sat up with a wide yawn, stretching out his arms before moving one hand to stratch the back of his neck. "Zachary Bloodstone, so kind of you t' drop by. S'been a while, 'asn't it?"

The movement caught his eye and adrenaline rushed through his system as he realized it was the cobra. He stopped, even taking a step backward.
"Not long enough," he replied sourly. Nothing seemed to teach the cobra to leave him alone, which was unnerving. The way he was clenching his jaw in his nervousness had his frill spread wide. He eyed the space below the branch. Maybe if he darted past Thom fast enough, nothing would happen... he was unsure if he could make it past the cobra without him pulling something underhanded. The grin plastered on Thom's face could mean nothing good. He took a step forward again, trying to work up some confidence. "And now I'll be on my way again."

Zach's fear was more than obvious, as had been with his previous meetings with the dragon, a fact which always delighted Thom to no end. He had never been much of a bully, persay, but in Zach's case, as much as he hated the dragon, Thom was more than happy to fill the role, and it was that much more fun knowing he did it well. He remembered the last meeting, remembered that, somehow, Zach had had him zapped, and the dragon was still scared?
This moment deserved one of those evil, mad-doctor laughs.
However, Thom refrained from laughing and instead shook his head, noting the escape attempt and promtply lowering himself from the branch directly in Zach's path, hanging in place until enough of his tail was on the ground to support him, then releasing his hold and lowering to the dragon's height. "Now, now, what's th' rush? We 'ave a bit of catchin' up t' do, wouldn't you say? I've been hearin' some interestin' stories about you, Zach."

At the sight of the cobra coming down from the tree, he took two steps backward. At this rate, he'd never get to the beach.
Thom terrified him. Even though he'd seen the cobra zapped the last time they'd met, nothing was going to rid him of the memory of nearly being strangled to death. There was something wrong with Thom. He was crazy, and dangerous. Zach opened his mouth slightly while he thought of what to say, knowing there was nothing good about the cobra keeping tabs on him. He kept his eye on Thom the whole time, afraid that looking away for one second might be lethal. "That's, uh, that's great. Really. Can't say the same about you, though. Maybe if you weren't skulking around like that all the time there'd be more people would have to say about you."

"People will have plenty to say before long, I think," Thom calmly assured him. If the plans he had discussed with Gaius and Lucas shortly beforehand were ever actually acted upon, his name would be heard fairly soon even if he was 'skulking about'. A second Jamal, and a bit less insane. But only a bit. Even Thom wasn't sure how far his sanity stretched anymore.
"Tell me somethin', Zachary. A little bird told me that you attacked a doctor a year or so back. S'that true?" There was no point beating around the bush. He was sure Zach would up and run from him before long, and Thom wanted to ask before the dragon had that chance.

"Uh-huh." Zach had no idea what he was talking about, assuming it was just crazy babbling on the part of Thom. Word certainly traveled quickly around here. Lucas must have been eager for some kind of revenge. He rolled his eye a little, though the lack of an accompanying movement in his left socket made the action feel very weird. As if his frill being spread wasn't enough, he was raising his wings as well. Looking big was important. He couldn't let Thom get to him. Especially not about that. He'd been drunk and worrying too much when he was talking to Lucas. He held up a finger, switching it to two as he spoke the other number. "Alright. One, it was an accident. Two, she's didn't die, so everything is fine. Thrilling, huh?"

"Thrilling." Thom flashed a fangy grin and folded his arms, watching the dragon curiously. He wasn't intimidated by the display. He had no reason to be scared of Zach. He could probably take a snap at the dragon and Zach would be off screaming, so why worry? Zachary wasn't about to attack him. "I'll accept that it was an accident. Moreau's girl, wasn't she? I 'eard he nearly killed you after that. Begs the question of why you've sided with th' labs all this time if they nearly offed you over an accident."
