Hidden Flame  Kikyo Soshi & Ӄanshin Enkou In a profound sense
every man has two halves to his being;
he is not one person
so much as two persons trying to act in unison.
________________________________________ Kikyo didn't even need to use any of her elemental attacks to sense that to try using them now would not work. She had used this attack herself against enemies to take them by surprise that she was willing to sacrifice using her own clan techniques to go for a kill. Why? Because she had a couple of tricks. From the foliage not far from where Kekkaishi landed, the melodious sounds of a harp could be heard. However, he would soon find himself feeling remorse for all the wrong he had done in his life. Even if Kikyo knew that only a fellow clan member could use the Darkness Rains technique, she needed to confirm that this was really him.
Meanwhile, as Kikyo's song played, another began as well. This one was in the form of singing. It was a slow and soft tune. However, Kanshin was making sure to project her voice out so that her tune, mixed with Kikyo's would combine to more or less put Kekkaishi into a place where he would fall asleep and have terrible nightmares about his past deeds and the things he regretted most. In the past when they had done this, it lead to their opponents to talk in their sleep and give away their true identity. Kanshin just hoped that this would be the case as well.

Kekkaishi Soshi Hidden flame  Kekkaish grabbed his head. last time this happened he lost control of his vectors he reacted quickly, and let out a screech, the screech did two things first it would make the two girls be death if only for a few seconds and the second, it woudl protect him form other sound based techniques, after all the screech should also affect him, but just to be on the safe side, he ran away from the noises. he should have remembered that kikyo knew how to mess with people minds, what pissed him of was that others had acted like him he threw his shield in the direction where one of the harp melody came from and the lance in the direction of where the singing came from. he had to focus, luckily his musou made it harder to be influenced, but Kikyo was above his level. he needed to get stronger faster Quote: Technique name: Musou Musou is a blank state of mind, where the user is uninfluenced outside forces, and greatly increases the speed, power, and effectiveness of kekkai, making them easier to summon. In this state the Kekkaishi forces his mind operate at its optimal level as a result he seems to abandon all emotions making it hard for anyone not above his chackra level to influence him emotionally.in this state Kekkaishi finds it easier to use his chackra more effectively reducing the amount of chackra needed for his jutsu. Musou can be maintained by force by forcing chackra into his brain, but before he has to do that he can maintain himself, for each made up he has he get two post free use of musou cuts the chackra needed for made ups and hidden heaven techs by 50% cuts the chackra needed for non heaven or made up jutsu by 25% 500cp to activate. 200 each turn to maintain *14 free turns and counting* Clashing screech-the user will will cry a loud screech able to mess up opponent ears and make there almost death for a for a short time-200 due to musou 52,318-200= 52,118 left

HIDDEN FLAME  a yawn escaped a little now figure in hidden flame. Joachim Armster had just gotten permission from his eaon to visit Kekkaishi, they always met once a year, and Joachim had taken to walking around hidden flame before going to hidden volcano. His normally red eyes seemed to have somehow quieted and where now black eyes. As he walked among the people of hidden flame Joachim smiled he had grown since the last time he had come here, his body was made mostly of red and pink muscle, and he carried Genji on his waist and hid his staff. no telling when one woudl need a second weapon style, he got a few random stares from having his hair spiked in such a weird way but he just smiled and looked at them with kind eyes. once he was nearing the border of flame, he heard a battle taking place. and even a screech that hurt his ear. ever the curious traveler he decided he could put of hidden volcano for a few minutes, while he walked to see what was going on183 WORDS

________________________________________ Both girls stopped their songs and held onto their ears in pain. Well then, if he refused to go down peacefully, then they would have to begin to get a little more serious. As his weapons were tossed at them, both used the art of substitution to have a nearby branch take the damage for them. They both landed on either side of Kekkaishi, just as Kikyo finished the hand signs of her next attack. A huge pillar of water sot up from the ground next to Kekkaishi and froze, trying to get him to stay in place. As this went on, Kanshin moved on to a new song to sing. She knew Kekkaishi wouldn't be able to hear it, which was probably for the best since, if he did, he would probably try harder to get out of there. She could feel the ground beneath them rumbling slightly as something stirred. Kikyo felt it as well, and sent her four vectors to crash through the icy ground and pull out large chunks of frozen earth. Within a minute of her doing this, four sets of hands appeared just above the surface as something made its way out of the ground...

 Hidden SubstanceHedoro's eyestalk swiveled up to point toward the sky as the rain started falling. Vaguely she was aware of the nearby humans rushing to get indoors or under cover, and once more she felt a touch of disgust for the fleshy creatures. Avoiding the rain like that, one more reason to view them as inferior. Returning her gaze to Mamichi, she could tell that the little one still seemed very nervous. Very well, if she was still so tense, then maybe if she took the next step herself, maybe that tension could be dealt with. "Alright, I suppose I can work with that. Let's give it a try, then, shall we?" As she spoke, she emerged from her barrel. After all, if they were going to try doing that evaporation trick together, she would think they'd have to be somewhat close at the start. She didn't bother with forming legs, leaving her lower half in a more or less solid mass under her. Turning her gaze to Randal, she remembered that he didn't speak any normal languages. He didn't seem to be particularly nervous or aggressive, so was this other fellow not an enemy? She knew better than to try and ask, knowing that at best she would only receive grunts or barks in reply. There still wasn't much information to be found, she still didn't even know where she was, who any of these people were, or why GeininX had needed them here, some random location such as this. Turning back to the knight, she attempted to fabricate a reason for her interest in Randal that might seem plausible in the given surroundings. "... It would seem you found Randal, my thanks. We became separated during our... transportation, and I've been looking for him." That seemed truthful enough, and just vague enough to not really say anything that could be objected to. So unless Randal had some form of fame or infamy, or horrendous luck, there was a decent chance that her excuse might be accepted. If not, well, it still might not turn to violence, but sometimes that was unavoidable. Right now, Randal was her only clue toward finding GeininX, she couldn't afford to lose him. Kekkaishi Soshi Hidden flame Kekkaishi Soshi did not smile or do anything to stop the water technique he was disappointed and spoke for the first time since the battle " you did well to sense my darkness rain. but i also used Elemental disable right afterwards to make sure you could not do something like this kikyo. i am disappointed." he said this because he knew she used an elemental attack it was the only way she would be doing nothing, plus her skin had blue.with that he let two of his vectors sweep the ground to make the girls fall down and distract them as he stomped on the ground to make sure whatever they where doing was stopped. as he stomped he also used the rest of his vectors to push himself into the sky, and escape the fisure that appeared under him burning the hands that came up with the fire from the core of the earth. as he landed away from he spoke " if your going to use elements make sure that they are not being summoned or used by you. fire exist in the earth already so creating a way for that fire to escape is well elementary my dear kikyo." the digital spear and Shield once again appeared in his arm Quote: Technique name: Musou Musou is a blank state of mind, where the user is uninfluenced outside forces, and greatly increases the speed, power, and effectiveness of kekkai, making them easier to summon. HIDDEN FLAME The pretty young Armster continued his walk. not really in any hurry, fights normally did not last long, and since he was not hearing a lot of noises, nor was he feeling or seeing any strong waves of chackra being used, it was probably just a sparing match. that was what he thought until he saw someone flying in the air. he squinted his eyes. Leonine armor? this close to Volcano? could Kekkaishi be in a spar? but he doesn't spar with anyone outside of that village. when he felt the ground shake twice. he growled. " that damned idiot, just who is he fighting." Joachim held unto his blade as he began to run at the fastest pace he could while remaining silent. just what the hell was going on here? could kekkaishi be trying to kill someone?138 words

________________________________________ Kikyo chuckled as she was lectured. If her skin was blue, it was because of the fact that of the three here, she was the only one who had been exposed to the coldness of the area the entire time where as Kanshin's natural body heat constantly kept her warm and Kekkaishi had the armor to protect him from the frozen hell she had created of the area. "You're one to talk about summoning elements. If you knew me, you'd know most of my attacks involves releasing water that's trapped in the ground or manipulating the water in the air..." Speaking of the water in the air, it began to turn into a thick steam as the fire from from the earth made contact with the frigid air. Now she and Kanshin could move about on the ground without Kekkaishi seeing them as easily had he not used his stomp.
Kanshin finished her song to find that only one of the undead ninjas she had summoned had survived his attack. she did a quick prayer of apology to those who had not made it to the surface. This fallen nin was a recently killed member from the nearby Lava village-- someone that Kekkaishi would recognize. Kanshin gave her orders and the ninja left, willing to seek revenge on the one who killed him. As she watched her undead nin go up, she went over to Kikyo and readied her shield and rosary beads, having them circle the two girls as she kept eye eye out for any thermal movements that would belong to anyone besides the two girls. She did see someone nearby running towards them with heat ringing off of twin swords, so she wondered if the guy they were fighting actually was another assassin and this new comer was his accomplish. Oh, how could she have made the mistake of thinking that the man they were fighting was Kekkaishi... Now Kanshin felt like a fool. She whispered quietly, "Kikyo-sempai, another one is approaching. Should we use the fog to escape?"
"....Not yet. we'll wait to see what this new guy does and if he's here for us or him..."
From the fog, the undead nina burst out with his former weapon in hand and took a swing at Kekkaishi. If he couldn't at least kill his slayer, then he would at least take pleasure in giving the man a small scare.

Kekkaishi Soshi Joachim ArmsterHidden flame  a head fell. the last of the summoned was dispatched. by kekkaishi's favorite weapon. once he noticed that something else was coming from the fog it was a simple matter of throwing his weight catchign his aponent of guard and then rushing foward cutting the head clean of. " summonig the dead...." Kekkaishi turned around. "leave them be." he fell on his knees. he could not fight for long. his hands where shaking once again. he took of running. he did not know where he was running but he could not stay here. not near her. that's when he stopped and began to laugh the Reason kekkaishi stopped was because waiting in a tree was non other then Joachim. he had grown and had new armor covering him, but it was still the same Joachim. he held his shoulder. "whoever is hidding in that fog, listen to me. it is unjust to ask the dead to come back. surrender now and i will think of not fallowing you. hunting my friend is unfair and a two on one is unjust."" i agreed to it." they booth shared a look.. and Joachim sighed. " you spent too much time int he volcano Kekkaishi. sulfur is bad for the body." they booth turned to face the fog. "Listen up until he meets Kikyo i whotn let my friend die. so prepare for the end. Unleash your mighty wrath unto the the unjust BEHAMUT" a roar came from the skies as did four dark balls of energies that tracked the two girls that Joachim could not see, the balls woudl not stop until they hit something, and they woudl also allow the fog to be dispersed so they worked doubly.. he had summoned Behamut earlier but decided to wait to see what was going on. seeing the unjust act of the people was just too much, even should he die. he would never let them survive. For his Part Dominus used the clashing screech once more to disrupt any moves they could make. ________________________________________ Kikyo had been reburying the dead as Kanshin thanked them for volunteering-- how she asked them to volunteer was beyond any one's guess, but she had not forced them to come back against their will-- and apologized they couldn't stay for any longer. After all, she always did feel guilty after using that particular technique. When they heard someone talking about Kekkaishi meeting Kikyo, both looked to one another. So he really was in on this as well. Well, might as well let him play, too. Kanshin used the fire that Kekkaishi had brought from the ground and created four fire clones to deal with the black orbs, keeping her and Kikyo safe. Kikyo was thankful for Kanshin's skill and sent one vector out of the little amount of fog that remained. It latched firmly onto Jaochim and whipped him towards her. Without warning, she brought out the hilt of her katana and held it out so that when Joachim was brought to her, it would smack him hard in the ribs or stomach before she brought him within a foot of herself, a dark smirk on her face and her gold eyes shining. "Demon of Heaven, at your service. Now then, who the hell are you and why are you interfering? Don't you know it's rude to walk in on a battle you weren't asked to participate in?" Kanshin went ahead and buried the last of the fallen ninja and looked to see who Kikyo was talking to. She tilted her head to the side, the fox tail and ears sort of twitching as they were blown by the wind. "Hmm? He seems familiar too. Maybe he's been following us for a while. It could be how that other guy found us." From the way Kanshin was talking, it was clear she was starting to doubt it was Kekkaishi just because of the fact that Kekkaishi would never allow someone to interrupt a battle he had asked for in the first place. She walked over and leaned so her face was only a few inches from Jaochim's as her bright red and glowing red eyes scanned him. "Hmm... Yeah. I really am starting to think I goofed again. I'm sorry, Kikyo-sempai! I was so sure that the guy in the tea house was Kekkaishi-kun! Maybe you're right. Maybe he really did die. I'm so sorry. I just feel so bad..." Kanshin stood up once more, tears forming in her eyes as she sniffled lightly. she felt rotten for possibly letting her best friend down. She had no idea how she was going to make it up to Kikyo for getting her hopes up once more. Kikyo looked to Kanshin and sighed lightly before reaching out and pulling Kanshin over for a one armed hug as she kept an eye on the person she had trapped in her vector. "Calm down, Kanshin. You meant well. It was nice thinking that this one was him. His techniques are of Hidden Heaven. Maybe he's a follow clan member and Kekkaishi asked this of him." She pushed Kanshin away, clearly done with being affectionate. She tossed Joachim to the side and stretched her back, giving a slight yawn. "Well, whatever. I'm pretty tired of this nonsense. I hate all these people trying to trick us for whatever pleasure it gives them. I say we just beat these two up, teach 'em a lesson, and then move on. As much as I wanted to check up on Hidden Flame some more, it's clearly not safe for us to be here if people are looking for us." Kanshin stumbled a bit as Kikyo ended the hug as quickly as she started it. She tugged on her skirt before she pouted lightly and rubbed the tears from her eyes. "Yeah.... I wish people would leave you alone. You have become such a good person. Oh! I know! Maybe if you dyed your hair and became a priestess as well, people won't suspect a thing!" Kikyo rolled her one good eye and huffed. "I'm not becoming a priestess, and I'm not serving under this Sun Goddess you worship, Enkou. You know very well that sort of life style doesn't suit me. Now then, let's figure out how we're going to beat the crap out of the shaved on and move on." Kanshin pouted and crossed her arms, glancing off to the side. "I told you we should have escaped when the mist was up." "Oh, shut up. I don't do retreats."

Kekkaishi Soshi Joachim ArmsterHidden flame  Joachim smiled and let himself be taken he brought out genji enough to block the move and smiled as he was being talked to. once he was pushed away he finally spoke. " i cant believe its you Kikyo... but Kekkaishi let me interfere because he needed you to believe it was him. he has changed in the years since you left. his heart has become darker. I am joachim Armster, and i tell you he has hidden heaven techniques, but he also has techniques unique to him, such as elemental kekai, kekai, and his musou, but does he seriously have to waste all of his chackra? Kanshin you should know why he comes to hidden flame every year. hell you should remember this spot. sure a lot has been moved but here was when he decided to fight of Santa clause."Kekkaishi was running still out of sight and his body became englufed in Zerroes and ones. " you dont belive him.... i am sorry for that."a houndread chains came from the ground to hold them still while behamut unleashed another bolley of energy balls around them. Kekkaishi appeared from the left. " enough Joachim." he looked to the ground his Armor vanished. his eyes seemed to show sadness though still cold. " i am tired Joachim... i was right. she has moved on. she cant tell its me. she cant sense me.... i am just" he fell on his knees. the chains vanishing as Behamut landed and Joachim walked towards Kekkaishi. "Kekkaishi." kekkaishi smiled and fell on the floor unconscious, a bottle of pills falling from his hand "Kikyo, Kanshin... how could you two not remember someone who you two fought besides? i know you two dont remember me, but i helped you get to the other side of the chunnin exams Kikyo... hell i have seen him lose a little fo himself every year. why dont you believe its him? do you whant him to bleed?" he took out genji and pointed at his throat. " say your judgement, what does your heart say when a blade is this close to his head?" the blade was risen to above his head. Once bound, the user can actually cause the chains to begin slowly pulling, by the hooks that attach to them, in order to pull them limb from limb.

________________________________________ Kikyo and Kanshin both watched Jaochim as he spoke. Kikyo was reading his body language while Kanshin watched the pulse of his body temperature the way a lie detector watches ones' pulse for any indication that the person talking to them was telling the truth. After a few minutes, Kikyo did eventually catch that this was the same guy who had helped her at the chuunin exams so long ago. Wow. He had changed a lot in physical appearance. If this was really Joachim, then, maybe...
But just as she was starting to trust Joachim, he had his chains grab onto her and Kanshin. Kanshin gasped in surprise and tried to struggle while Kikyo looked to Joachim with a bitter and betrayed look in her eye. Both gritted their teeth and endured as the orbs fell near them. It was the best they could do for now. When the attack was over and Kekkaishi came back out, Kikyo looked over to him, fury in her eyes. As Joachim moved to attack Kekkaishi, one of Kikyo's vectors moved over Kekkaishi and took the impact, working as a shield. Another reached out and grabbed the sword, pulling it up so it would be over Joachim's head. She walked over, that same bitter look in her eyes. However, there was something more. Maybe it was disappointment. She kneeled down to Kekkaishi's level and sighed, turning her head away slightly. "....You've, and not in the way I would expect of you, Kekkaishi.... Of the two of us, you were the better one. Now look at you... You're hardly a shell of your former self. And for what? Me? If you had loved me, you wouldn't have let yourself fall to the level I used to be at..." She stood up and looked down, not even sure Kekkaishi could hear or was listening. Kanshin looked over to Joachim and put on a very apologetic expression, almost as though she was going to cry in Kikyo's place since she knew the proud woman wouldn't allow herself to cry. "I'm so sorry if we did cause you two trouble... The tension in the air from all the wars that are about to happen but not wanting to start is so thick that a knife could slice it. It's made the two of us worried that any little thing we do might affect what happens to our people. I'm sure everyone's like that now... Heck, I just got my village back about a year ago, and within the past few years I've been kidnapped more times than I can count because of one reason or another. You can understand why we were both so skeptical... People are jsut willing to do anything to get what they want now." She sighed sadly as she allowed the rosary surrounding her to shrink back to their normal size and began to thread the beads through her fingers.

HIDDEN FLAME Joachim breathed out a sigh of relief.and walked over to behamut he petted the giant dragon"friend you may go now."Behamut nodded and turned into pyreflies that danced around them before vanishing. Joachim turned around a smile on his face. he summoned his blade to his arm and put it away, he also picked up the pills. and sighed." from what i was told when he was found in hidden volcano Kekkaishi was in a hell of a fight, the last thing the person did was put him in a genjutsu, whatever he saw sent his vectors out of whack and made him attack like a beast." he looked at the floor and sat down. "you changed for him into a better person, but your wrong abotu one think Kikyo he changed into a worse person, your eyes never looked as cold as his did. many assesins that came looking for you because they heard he was alive where...." he put his hand over his head." he never enjoyed what he did, and i could not stop him for he had agreed to the duel to the death... but the person was garented to have lot once he activated his musou.... he used a kekai on every part of the persons body and broke them one by one..... the guy said he had killed you.. the look of terror and anger in his eyes...i think he is the real demon of heaven." he then turned to kanshin his smile back in his face. so much as two persons trying to act in unison.
________________________________________ Kikyo was about to say something, but quickly bit her tongue. What she wanted to say was, "I died once and came back. He should have had more faith in my will to come back to him." But... How could she say that sort of thing when he would have done the same in her situation. To say what she wanted would be hypocritical since she had thought for years he had been killed and had moved on in the afterlife like the rest of her family had.
Kanshin looked to Jaochim and smiled. She could be of help! She knew lots of ways to help people! Well, alright. Maybe not as many ways as she would like, but she knew enough ways to help a person when they needed it. "There's two ways we could go about this one. One is a technique from Hidden Volcano. The other is simply making him throw up. So, which would you rather have to go through."
Kikyo looked back to Kanshin and frowned grimly. "But, Kanshin... You didn't fully learn that technique, did you?" Kanshin looked to Kikyo and tilted her head, that happy-go-lucky smile of hers still pressed onto her face. "Hmm? I read about it. That should count for something, right?" Kikyo sighed and shook her head as she ran her fingers through her hair. "It's one thing to read abut a technique. It's a completely different thing to actually do the technique..." Kanshin smiled happily and placed her hands on her hips with a determined expression. "Well, then, I could try it for the first time on him~!" Kikyo closed her eyes and groaned lightly, shaking her head in doubt. "I'd rather we just take him to the temple and have someone there help him... No offense. You're great with stitching wounds and such, but I really don't want to take too many risks with his health..." Kanshin's arms and shoulders dropped as she pouted sadly. "Okay... I suppose you're right. It'd be wrong if I forced him into being the test subject to a technique like that..."

HIDDEN FLAME Joachim could not help but smiled. he picked up Kekkaishi and dropped him at kanshins side."and you whont learn until you try to use it. Kekkaishi can come back from the dead, jus as easily as we all can."His smile was as big as it always was. he was glad he did not have to kill anyone, but as he remembered what his friend did during the last time they visited his smile vanished replaced by small frown." The reason he turned out like this... kikyo three years is a long time to be separated.... why did you hide from even him for so long? was kekkaishi right. did you fully move on from him?" in Joachim s eyes it seemed to be the reason why kekkaishi was always troubled. he always seemed to be struggling with the idea that she found someone else, could she have? as he thought about it was true three years was a long time.... they had been separated before, could she slowly have gotten used to his absence as he slowly began to grow crazy from it? " his father died.... i think about two years ago, i was in a visit to heaven and saw him die so i came here to give him the news... its when he started using the pills to sleep, he kept mumbling about nightmares coming trough whenever i was here, he trained almost nonstop to help make sure he did not sleep. he was not even learning anything. it was just training."256 words
