Typhoon_Omi And, I'm slightly disappointed. I was expecting a fun match from Cleric Pei/"Number 66", and since the guy's been signed on.. every day, I figured he'd post. But, he'll be timing out soon if he doesn't get a post in. And while I'm definetely not above using the timeout as a means of victory, still bugs me a tad that I may miss out on what looked to be a potentially-decent match. --;
Ah well. He's got time yet. Did you look? At the ANNOUNCEMENT? Where I told everyone to send a PM so that he could know that he is supposed to post? And nobody is timing out until the fight starts. Just because they don't know Round 2 is up doesn't mean that you can post once and assume victory. It's not like they didn't take the time to post regularly, it's that they never knew they were supposed to.

Clash Kiddick I have to take back what I said about this being pointless, too, and how people only win in tournaments through technicalities and judge decisions. Didn't mean it. From the get-go I wanted to eliminate factors like that, but if something comes down to a dispute and a decision has to be made, or if someone times out, then that's just how it is. I tooooooooooooold you soooooooooo!

Clash Kiddick people only win in tournaments through technicalities and judge decisions. Technicalities only when they b***h about them. Judge decisions only when we're sick of people bitching. ...or when fights have been on hold for two months and I tell people to move on or I'll move them on. mad Clash I cleaned up some of the OOC in all of the boards except Commerce, and there are several fights in there that seem to have gone over the time limit. I'm obviously not on top of anything right now, so I don't know if there are disputes or decisions pending for those matches or what, but if there aren't, then I guess they can be closed. There should really only be 2 or 3 that are over the limit right now, and those I suppose I should attend to. I've been trying to be lenient with the time-limit thing and only really enforcing it when someone brings it up or when we're waiting on people to finish. Commerce still has a few running fights, so I was planning on waiting and hoping that people would find the time to post again. I think the last fight (last I checked) that needed an IC post was August 31st, which is just over a week now. Not horrible...

It's a shame there aren't more people taking bets in that thread down there. I didn't read the system thuroughly enough, but I assume they would show up on the list next to each match if they'd been placed.
I expect I'd get to see plenty of bets placed against me. I think it'd amuse me.

Well that was a bit of an annoyance. Went through all that just for the guy to just up and vanish.

themightyjello Did you look? At the ANNOUNCEMENT? Where I told everyone to send a PM so that he could know that he is supposed to post? By the time you finished writing that? You should've already had your answer. PARDON my horrid habbits of only checking this topic & the Barton Branch whenever I roll by here.
As for the second point: I could've sworn there was a timeout rule in this tournament, if the other postee doesn't make a post for a set amount of time. And considering I've dropped him a comment & a PM just to make sure he does know - and I'm assuming, he received the PM Tacticus sent.. everyone here a while back claiming that round 2 of Barton and such are starting up.. yeah. He knows. That, or he's even worse at obersvations than myself. XD
I'm fine with him not being disqualified; however, if the guy doesn't post for weeks and his lack of disqualification is still the reasons you gave, expect a lot of bitching. talk2hand
[Edit]: Oh, THAT announcement.
High five for assumptions, Jello. domokun I'll try to get ahold of him some more; I'm hoping he's still interested in GTB period. ._.; And.. dammit. For the record: whomever's matched against "Akako" may have a closed match soon. Just got a few PM's she went to her buddy list, she's pretty much quitting roleplaying as that character due to not having very much time on her.. hands?Quote: <~: Alright everyone... Akako is going to die pretty soon. I have grown tired with the character frankly AND I have ALOT to do. I have scholarships to sign up for. ACT and the SAT to study for... also school plus ALOT of work... at least 40 hours a week and I still have school from 8 till 4 so just add it all up... I do ALOT in a week and time is scarce... Tootles loves. I will miss all of you. Akako will die in a week or so... I just have to make a dramatic exit...... because I am amazing like that. ^_~ :~> Unsure if this applies to GTB or not, I'll try to.. ask her about 'at too. XD

Well, THAT announcement is new. razz The other one was in the 'getting this tournament back on track' thread.
As for your question: There is a timeout rule of 3 days from your last post for him to respond, unless you two agree to wave that rule. However, I'm not enforcing any time outs against people who haven't even showed up yet. The no-shows will be cleared out when I start closing matches for legitimate reasons.
At least that's my plan as of this point.
I've locked all the 'done' discussion threads here. The ones for fights that are over and such. The ones that still have a purpose (read: have a topic to discuss) are still open, and should be much easier to find now among the other ones thanks to not having the little black lock.

Ahh, I see now. XD Alright, good deal than.
And, I've PM'ed Akako, since I'm not 100% sure she knew about the tournament picking up again or not. Hopefully, she'll at least stick around and see her matches through. @_@; Also notified Shilon for his match, he shoud be posting relatively soon. Aaaaand, need to get ahold of Jigen..

Typhoon_Omi I'll try to get ahold of him some more; I'm hoping he's still interested in GTB period. ._.; I sent him a PM a while back because he hadn't shown up for our match in a month... he responded with something along the lines of 'If I don't post by Wednesday consider it a forfiet because I'm too busy'. It stayed open for like 3 weeks without a post, until I locked it the other day when cleaning up Commerce. xp But yeah, try to get a hold of him.

..Damn. @_@; Can do. And, oh shnap.. I think Barton Branch, Round II, shall have the greatest match in all of GTB History. Definitively.
Jack Schitt [Tacitus] vs. Jigen K. Dun [Jigen2.5].
Why, you may ask? Jack Schitt.. opened up his match in Round I by.. well, shitting a lot.
Jigen, outside of "serious roleplaying", does the exact same thing - except, on people's lawns.
Rival Match, I tell you.

Clearly, you've never seen Jigen relieve himself on someone's lawn. This match is going to be BRUTAL.

Sure you're not Asian, Jello? Dislike for alcohol, ridiculously efficient work habits, etc.?
Also, welcome back, Clash. If you want the keys back to your car, you're welcome to take 'em. xd
Edit: Wow, that sounded kind of belligerent. I actually mean that if Clash ever decides he wants to take the tournament over again, he's more than welcome to. xd
And in a nice, delayed response to Omi: yes, s**t-talk happens in competition of any and every kind. But competition is something that should still be done with courtesy to your fellow competitors, no matter what kind of competition it is. Even when there's bad blood involved, it's the mark of a good competitor to treat his or her opponents and comrades with respect. Does anybody take Dennis Rodman seriously, regardless of how good a player he is? At the end of the day, we'll all say "yeah, he's got amazing skill, but he's still a ******** asshat."
