Zack & Aeris in America.
Zax & Aerith in Japan.
Both are correct.
From a gameplay viewpoint, Cloud is the main character and Zack is a bit part dug up through flashbacks. From a canonical storyline viewpoint, however, Cloud is nothing more than a Zack wannabe. Both characters were created at the same time by Squaresoft for the purposes of the storyline, however, so neither is a "recolor" of each other. They're both SOLDIERs, so they both wear the same uniform, and they're both Jenova clones (though "clone" isn't technically the proper term, scientifically speaking), so they have some shared physical attributes. That's about as carbon-copy as it gets though. Square didn't just change the hairstyle a bit on one and then slap a new name on the boi to get a new character.
It's never stated outright that Cloud and Tifa had sexual intercourse. In fact I find it hard to believe that the others would actually WATCH while the two got it on. They're better people than that, I would hope. I always assumed that Tifa was merely embarassed at being watched while she and Cloud were having their Great Relationship Revelation and perhaps cuddled a bit and at the most, kissed once.
I personally am drooling over Before Crisis. You can't go wrong with Turks. heart

Before Crisis seems to be a prequel to the game set in Midgar and focusing on Aeris and the Turks. Perhaps Crisis Core will run along the same timeline and be a look at Nibelheim and some of the later SOLDIER years of Cloud and Zack.
*wants a prequel-prequel game called FFVII: Crisis Catalyst where you play through the Vincent-Hojo-Lucrecia timeline at Nibelheim* whee
And I don't care if the name is limp. If it's got Vincent in it, I MUST HAVE IT. heart _ heart

I was just teasing on the Zax-Recolor part. I call Shadow the Hedgehog a Super Sonic Recolor too smile . And half of the Mario Characters...
If they're gonna do this whore-ffvii-for-all-its-worth thing, I wish they would do it over a gradual period of time instead of all at once. Its killing the spiffiness of Advent Children.
