Boy, don't talk to me about taste. talk2hand If I said that it was in error. But... However bad Red Steel's controls were, at least they made more sense than TP's random a**, nonsensical, tacted on Wii functionality. As far as GH goes if I shell out over 100 dollars for a game I want more than a Hasbro game that belongs in the toy isle of Wal-Mart. I want, you know, a full featured title with depth and playability beyond the confines of it's gimmicky peripheral. ...Long rant content following Instead of making a full featured rhythm game like comparable past offerings in the peripheral basted rhythm game space, Guitar Hero strives to do the bear minimum in terms of competitive play and various game modes. It's almost as if they drew up the control and then threw together a game so it can be used rather than make a game, then decided on the optimal interface.
The same, fortunately, can't be said for Rock Band. The title has some clear efforts and direction and achieves that very well, aiming at the more casual market and being strikingly addictive using a unique world tour mechanic, but the songlist leaves much to be desired as does the interface. Seriously, playing the same 7 songs for like 4 hours isn't my idea of fun. It's clearly a first effort and requires a lot of expansion and streamlining to justify my 180 dollars.

Seriously, playing the same 7 songs for like 4 hours isn't my idea of fun. It's clearly a first effort and requires a lot of expansion and streamlining to justify my 180 dollars. You compare GH to a Hasbro game? A Hasbro game would give you two buttons and a 1/16th beat, nothing more. Rock Band aims toward a more casual audience? GH caters to a more casual audience, wanna know why?
That pick up and play ability, you don't have to be some kind of guitar god to play it, you pick up the guitar, set your game up, and play. Why do you think it does so well? Because the casual gamer can play it with no problems, s'what makes DDR so successful.
Not to bash Rock Band or anything, but it appeals to a more hardcore audience, why else would every other instrument be added and cost a lot more than GH? Because it caters to a more hardcore audience than GH does.

And with that shower of blood and intestines over with, a revelation in the nonsensical evolution vs creationism "debate" courtesy of the SuicideGirls newswire: Quote: Seriously, though, I think a major problem is the way science is taught in American high schools. Students are taught the results of scientific research without much emphasis on scientific methodology (even mixing chemicals and cutting up frogs doesn't teach much about standards of scientific evidence), so what it amounts to is little more than the presentation of apparently arbitrary claims about the world, with no means of evaluating the validity of those claims against other, equally arbitrary-looking claims. So you end up with people who are happy enough to take the unverifiable word of cattle-sacrificing primitives over the unverifiable (to them) word of scientific researchers because they really can't see how the sources of information actually differ.

So. Katrina convinced me to get my tongue pierced (it took little convincing). She is turned on by the idea that I did it. Now the thing is that I don't get what girls find hot about guys with tongue piercings? I know very well what guys find hot about girls with them, but until she comes to visit next month, I have no idea what the attraction is. rofl

But if that's what turns them on, more power to them. I think the piercing would just get in the way. That sweet tang of metal when I kiss someone? Yuck.
