i think Jedi are closer to Taoist monks, although Yoda is based on Bhudda.

Celestia Whitesword Cool. But, couldn't the Jedi also be compared to Knights and Samurai? Though, I've always likened Mandos to Vikings, meself. I once had a thought of a SW fan fiction, it's like SW but taken place in Fuedal Japan.

Well, thats the thing, there is a lot of things that are shared between the Mandalorians and the Jedi. I just prefer Mandalorians, because you forge yourself to become strong, while the Jedi are just born with it.

I think the way the Jedi act liken them to Taoist monks, but their fighting style is like samurais, as Jedi don't hack away with a broadsword like a knight. And I agree, Viking is as close as I can get to a mandalorian.

The Japanese word for Samurai is Samurai.
Jidaigeki is the word for a period Drama movie about Samurai.
