I didn't know you were a Mexican. Your style of writing doesn't suggest being bilingual. But yeah, ther eare liek seven guys at my school named Jesus. But I live in a city with 50% Latin population, so since there are more males than females generally in the area, you're gonna get a lot.

Yet almost no one has the testicular fortitude to name their kid Muhammad Buddha O'Nazareth.

I'm not into the really heavy stuff. SOAD is just about my favorite band, and they're almost as hard as it gets with me. Sometimes I'll put on Disturbed or Demon Hunter, but I enjoy singing, especially in time with a song while it's playing, and I draw the line at songs that are more than half screaming.

Now, if there's a back melody or a harmony I can sing beneath the screaming, that's fine. Matter of fact, I sing harmony I make up myself for most of the songs I sing along with.

On a random note, I now own all of SOAD's albums. Yar.
You're into Demon Hunter? And you say you don't like really heavy stuff? All the s**t I've heard from Demon Hunter hits hard.

Draw the line....then I spose you wouldn't like Trivium or Lamb of God. LoG has alot of screams, but...mreh. They're this generation's Slayer, for all intents and purposes.

Trivium is like this generation's Metallica, blending thrash attitude with excellent melodies, whilst displaying some sick chops...for a bunch of kids.

As for the screamstyle of vocalizing....I find that yes, it's draining to do, but it's manageable to pull off even while playing guitar. It's just the matter of being able to switch from the growl/scream to melodic singing.

EDIT!! Diz...I'm Mexican by heritage...not by location.

I'm not a huge fan of DH, but every once in a while I want to combine my appreciation of Christian rock with a powerful voice. Ergo, Demon Hunter.

Did not realize that was Christian Metal. There's some other bands I've heard or had friends point out to me that were heavy as hell, but Christian as well. Not that it's a knock on them, but yea. Guess positive, uplifting messages don't suit me well.

Christian music isn't always positive or uplifting. In fact, my favorite CM is the type that makes you actually think about God and the sacrifice He made for us all (not trying to proselytize (sp?), I'm just words on a screen, I can't influence the beliefs of anyone here one way or another). Which is why I like Jonah33 so much. It's just one song on their eponymous album, but All For You conveys a number of things so very well:
-The anguish of Christ
-The idea that, though the Romans wielded the hammer, we all drove the nails
-The belief that nothing we can ever do is repayment-in-full for the gift of eternal life

Granted, I don't want my music to depress me, but I can hardly stand happy-sappy wimp-Christian music. News flash: the Bible is not all sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows. Many of God's followers die horrible deaths or live long, pained lives for the cause of Christ. One cannot defeat the armies of Satan by singing "Jesus Loves Me".

Jesus loves me, this I know
For the Bible tells me so

Red, orange, yellow
Green, purple, and blue

He loves us little faggots, too.

I can't say I don't like christian music, but I don't hear it. I can say I like every beautifull song, with a good music and a good lyric, but I don't hear that kind of music.

*sings*

Jesus loves me, this I know
For the Bible tells me so

I think I have heard that from the movie "The Bodyguard", it's sung by Whitney Houston and his sister (in the movie), but it's little different there, it says

"Jesus Love me, oh yes he does,
Jesus Love me, oh yes he does,
Jesus Love me, oh yes he does,
by the Bible tels me so"

Dizzy > She wasn't spying per say. She could just see what everybody was doing when she sat in the control tower smile

*twitch* I hate that song but for other reasons... mostly my Christian psychotic babysitter sang it over and over and over again as a child.
