It took a couple hours, but finally they had looked for fingerprincts in every possible location, bagged the notes and taken close to a million pictures. finally the officers were heading out and Iroh came into the kitchen where Daren and Tim had been watching. "alright, let's get you guys packed and checked in. i got a double queen for you near the station, it's close your work, too,Tim, so that shouldn't be too hard on you. it's near where i live, so i'll be close by. that ok?"

Daren sighed and nodded, "that is ok with me, Tim, would you rather have your own room?"

Iroh nodded, "that would be best, take whatever books or the like you want." he smiled and felt a familiar rubbing against his legs, "i'll take Apple, since she probably won't be welcome at the hotel. she'll be safe with me, Daren, and she knows me, so it won't be too bad for her. if she doesn't seem happy i'll take her to Anna and Tatre, they'll look out for her."

Daren nodded and gave the cat a soft scratch before going to pack his things. "i'm going to keep working," he said, making sure that Tim and Iroh heard, "we both are. we aren't going to let this ruin our lives, he'll like that too much." he disappeared into his room to pack, just taking the bare essentials.

Iroh nodded, "Tim, we're going to have an officer undercover at your work, so you will be safe there, ok?"

Apple purred happily at the scratches, happy the human was ok with her now. she wanted to rub against him, but the human holding her wouldn't put her down. How rude!

Iroh smiled, "we'll work something out with your boss, i'm sure one of the boys wouldn't mind something easy like that for a while. we've had a rough year."

Daren finished shoving things into his duffel before he head back out to the living room, "ready when you are, Tim." he gave Apple a little scratch, "i'll put her things together for you, Iroh, while Tim packs." he moved away to do just that, needing to move, to do something, or he'd go mad.

Daren helped Iroh get a disgruntled Apple into her carrier as Tim walked up to them. he looked at the bags and felt bad, "sorry, Tim, want to borrow my suitcase? i wasn't thinking...as usual."

Iroh was holding his own sack of cat things, the bag of food under one arm, "we don't mind waiting for you to transfer your things, really."

"I'm driving you. i'm sorry Tim, just after you got your car back, but he might recodnize them. wee'll be getting you rentals for the next little while."

Daren nodded, it was standard procedure, so it came as no surprise to him. he picked up his bag and gave Tim a small smile as they head out. he locked up behind them and paused for a moment before following Iroh down the hall and to the elevator. he wasn't talking much, his mind busy with trying to figure out where his father might be hiding.

the elevator doors opened and Iroh held them until Tim and Daren were inside and hit the parklot button. "have you been settling into work well, Tim?" he asked, trying to make conversation.

Iroh chuckled, "beware that 'whore', she might think you a threat if she doesn't like you. it might be interesting to see how many 'clients' she looses if she says anything to you. the impression i got from your coworkers is that they are rather protective of you at the moment." the elevator stopped and he lead the way to his car, "i don't think you should tell them about this just yet, Tim. i'm going to have news of Aomine's escape all over the news, so they will keep an eye out for him, but you don't want to cause any unnecessary panic. that doesn't mean they won't recognize the name and-well," he glanced at Daren, the entire city is going to be talking about the connection between them, but keep out the break in, ok?"

Daren grunted softly, he hadn't thought of that. s**t-he was going to be tied to that man if only by name, and thanks to his damned new found fame, it was going to be everywhere. this was going to make his even more of a pain. "let's hope we get him before anything happens." he muttered as he got into the back seat of Iroh's car, "Tim, go ahead and take the front, if you want."

Daren's head snapped up at the question, his eyes locked on Tim. Iroh flinched a little, glancing back at Daren before focusing on the road as he pulled out. "why would you want to buy something like that? normally you can't really buy one, but it's not illegal to sell you one or to have one privately. still-i'd like to know why first."

Daren relaxed a little and Iroh let out a small laugh. "Sorry, Tim, but i don't think that's a very good idea. you should just learn your limits on your own, instead of relying on technology. besides, you'd look weird checking your breath after every drink."

Daren shook his head and looked out the window, "just take it one drink at a time. it helps to drink a glass of water between each drink, then you can assess if you can handle another drink or not."
