  Nikolai stared at the screen for what felt like ages. He stared at the picture of the lovely mattress cover and the large " Sold!" watermark on. He stared at the pop up of a comfortable mattress with the same mark on it. They were both gone. His precious items that he wanted for so long... gone... by a bidding rookie... When Leon asked him about dinner, Nikolai didn't respond. He slowly rose from his seat and walked up the steps, avoiding Aysun as he bounded down the stairs to help Leon with dinner, and slammed the bedroom door shut hard enough to make a few hanging pictures rattle.

Leon Court Leon watched his husband disappear in an angry flurry. He blinked, then shrugged and reached for Aysun's hand. " Okay, so do you remember when we made ziti last time?" he asked, leading him into the kitchen and handing him the little apron made just for him. ~~~ About a week and a half later, Leon sat in the living room, nonchalantly reading the newspaper. " So, what are your plans for tomorrow, babe?" he asked aloud, waiting for the Russian to answer.

Nikolai lay on the couch in fetal position, hugging his knees while staring at the table with haunted eyes. " Well, I was originally planning on napping. However, sadly that is no longer an option," he murmured. That was the only Luna mattress cover. Gone. Not a single other one showed up on Ebay after that. It was as if he were given a taste of Heaven then dragged back to reality. Of course Sloth's powers would make any mattress comfortable instantly, but even the Sin couldn't make a bed warm itself up to the perfect temperature.

Leon CourtLeon sighed as he set down his paper, folding it in half. " Okay, what is wrong with you? You've been like this for a week and a half!" He stood up, scooping Nikolai up in his arms and starting to carry him towards the stairs. " Why don't you take a nap in the guest room? The mattress hasn't been totally broken in yet, just like you like it."

" Have you ever heard of Luna, dearie?" Nikolai asked, arms crossed and a disgruntled expression on his face. " No, not a student's name, but a mattress cover. Brilliant work of art, really. You can control it with an app and - Oh! It'll learn my sleeping patterns and know when to warm up the bed or when to start the coffee maker! See, dearie? That would save you time too! Would. I was so close to getting it when some... monster took it from me! I'd love to sleep the pain away, I really would, but I don't want to be reminded of what some ungrateful fraud stole from me."

Leon Court" You know, you're acting a little bratty," Leon said as eh carried Nikolai up the stairs and towards the bedroom. " I just bought you a new mattress for our anniversary. I understand the mattress cover makes the best of any mattress, but you don't really need it, do you?" He opened the door to the guest room, bringing Nikolai inside and sitting him on the bed, hands on his hips.

Mayah Playah Do you like my avi? emotion_kirakira " Don't need it? I'll pretend I didn't hear that for your sake, dearie," Nikolai scoffed while crossing his legs along with his arms. " I am quite literally the laziest man on earth, darling! I simply must have the most comforting sleep ever! I appreciate the mattress, really I do, but imagine how much better it would be with a cover constantly changing the heat and softness of the mattress so you never feel even an ounce uncomfortable?" His eyes shined with stars at the very thought.

Leon CourtLeon rolled his eyes. " You always do this. What's the point of me buying you things if they are never good enough? Even if I got you this Luna thing, the moment the newer model comes out, you'd whine until you got it." He turned towards the door. " I have papers to grade. I'll see you in a couple hours." Walking out, Leon seriously considered returning the mattress cover he'd fought so hard to buy. Was it even worth it at this point?

Nikolai sighed and reluctantly got up, quickly catching up to his husband and clasping a hand over his shoulder. " Now, now, dearie. I didn't mean to upset you. I just lost an important bidding war to an amateur at the last minute the other day and I've always been one to keep a grudge, in case you haven't noticed." He made Leon face him and rubbed his arms comfortingly, grinning lazily. " I'm sorry I was acting badly. I was taking my bitterness out on you."

Leon CourtLeon allowed himself to be turned to face his husband, but he kept the frown on his face and crossed his arms. " Bitterness? More like brattiness. Nikolai, you can't keep acting like this when you don't get something you want. It's just like last month when we arrived at that sale too late to get the little costume you wanted me to wear." He shook his head, looking away. " Don't rub on me like that. I'm irritated with you."

" To be fair, darling, you look remarkable in that outfit," Nikolai defended. He grinned again and leaned in closer. " Come now, why don't we go to the bedroom and use that mattress you got, hmm? You can take out your irritation on me however you want~"

Leon CourtAs much as he wanted to give in to that lecherous grin and that sweet body, Leon knew he needed to hold firm. He cleared his throat, cheeks a bright red, and stepped back. " Sometimes, Nikolai, sex doesn't work," he stated firmly, then turned on his heel and walked back downstairs.

Nikolai stood in place, his hands still holding the spots where Leon's arms were momentarily as he stared into space. What was that? Sex doesn't work? He let out a small chuckle filled with disbelief. How adorable. Turning around, the Sin chased down Leon, snaking his arms around his waist from behind and resting his chin atop the right shoulder. " Yes, well, that was a nice line, darling, but that bed is rather close and all I can think about is what you'd look like on it~" he purred.

Leon CourtLeon winced as he was stopped, his resolve so strong until then. He bit his lip, struggling to stand firm, then cleared his throat and stared forward. " Get used to disappointment, Nikolai," he said, but didn't try to move away. He found, unfortunately, that he couldn't.

Seeing the weakened resolve, Nikolai's eyes glimmered, and his hands slowly trailed up to Leon's chest, rubbing it suggestively. " With you, darling, I wouldn't have to worry about that at all," he whispered into his husband's ear. Right before he could drag him off, however, Aysun came bounding towards them with a gleeful smile hidden behind dirt. " Uncle Leon! Uncle Leon! Look!" He held out his tiny arm, showing one of the carefully planted flowers yanked out of the ground with a green caterpillar atop its petals. " I found a worm!" Nikolai looked at the child's innocent joy before looking at Leon and smirking. " You got lucky, dearie," he whispered then let him go.
