Lady Crystal shakes her head. "Royalty is the very top. Nobility is just below it. And we're not better but rather raised to lead rather than raised to farm or run an inn."

Lily shrugged again, running her hand through Arlen's hair. "Maybe that's the way you see it, but most of the time... well. I'm sure you know the way the world works. You're at the top of the chain, and I'm down towards the bottom. Well, fine... you're just below the top of the chain. Regardless, it means that you're better than me. That's the way things go."

Lady Crystal nodded. "That's the way many people need to see it. Most would not accept someone as their ruler if they were thought to be equal to them. They would believe themselves just as capable or rule and attempt a coup. Oh dear, now we've gotten into politics. I hear you're not supposed to discuss them in every day conversation."

"Some of them are just as capable, maybe even more so." Lily pointed out, shrugging. "They just never get the chance to prove it. And some people raised to rule make a mess out of it. It all has very little to do with birth, and a lot to do with character." Suddenly, she laughed softly, shaking her head. "No, I'm not opposed to discussing them at all. Cerri made a study of politics, when she wasn't running around doing the bidding of her clients."

Lady Crystal smiled, and then covered her mouth as she yawned. "I'm sorry, this is much later than I usually stay up."
"I want to give you something first though," she says hesitantly. "It was originally going to be an apology gift, but now I sincerely want to thank you for giving me a chance." Reaching into her purse which once again appears from nowhere, Lady Crystal pulls out a long, thin box and offers it to Lily.

Lily blinked, then bit her lower lip, hesitantly accepting the box. "Thank you, I... don't know what to say." Offering a shy smile, she opened the box, eyes curious.

Inside the box was a simple gold necklace with a bunny rabbit charm. "I hope you like it," Lady Crystal said nervously. "I really don't know what your taste in jewelry is so I got you soemthing that I thought would look nice if you wore it everyday."

Lily's eyes widened, and she ran her fingers lightly over the metal. Then, eyes rather teary, she jumped up and hugged Crystal, smiling. "Thank you... it's beautiful." she whispered, then pulled back, blushing. "Sorry... didn't mean to rumple you. Could you help me put it on?"

"You are quite welcome," Lady Crystal said, unused to such emotional physical contact. "Of course I will help you," she added, taking the necklace carefully from the box and undoing the clasp. She motioned for Lily to turn around.

Lily did as she was told, trilling softly in happiness. "Thank you again... this is my first gift, really." The teen was practically squirming in excitement as she lifted up her hair. "I'll have to get you something too."

"There is really no need," Lady Crystal said, blushing slightly again as she placed the necklace around Lily's neck and gently clasped it back together. "There we are," she said when she was finished, stepping back to have a look. "That was exactly what you needed."

Sapphire walks back into the Muffin, dragging a moosechilla behind her. She felt that her hunting was very successfull and she had only lost two arrows at wasted game.
