Maven could see from her periphial vision a group of kids walking towards them they were giggling about something.
Maven looked into Blaines eyes and she saw something that scared her. He had a grin spread upon his face as he advanced closer to her. He had leaned in and she could feel his breath upon her skin. It made her shiver and get goosebumps on her skin.
"I just wanted you to know...you're nothing." Blaine whispered.
He stepped back and his grin was easily read as evil. He reached up and tore away her books from her tossing them behind him. Having no respect for them. He started to give off a low chuckle that turned into hideous laughter as he pushed Maven to the ground.
"Pathetic." He turned and put his hand up in a way to dismiss her as he walked away.
The group that was to the side started laughing harder and ran up to Blaine giving him high fives. Maven crawled over to gather her books and her sketch pad. Her tears were falling freely from her face staining the ground and her pad. She made it back to her corner and brought her legs up to her. She saw the group of them come closer and she cringed.
Maven rolled again whining, which caused Vixy to get up and move over a bit to lie back down. The pokeball that held Phyra was now full sized in her clutches.

The Geodude fell to the ground, fainted. Train jumped up. "Yeah! We did it, Ratata! Well, mostly you, but I guided ya!"
But Train noticed Ratata wasn't faring so well. She returned it to it's pokeball and started heading back to the entrance of the cave, or at least the one she'd come through.
Near the end, she ran into a Zubat. "Aw, man. I don't have time for this, Ratata needs to get to a pokemon center. But...aw, I can't turn down a challange! Pikachu, c'mon, buddy!" She said.
Pikachu ran out in front of her and stood in place. "Start things off with a bang! Thundershock!" Train called quickly. Pikachu jumped up and let loose a blast of electricity at the Zubat fluttering before them. "Pika-chuu!" Pikachu cried as it did so.
The Zubat coughed-if a Zubat can cough, that is, and flapped back up. It screeched, trying to confuse Pikachu, but to no avail.

I hadn't expected that to ever happen, Nina thought, walking through the night. We made up and we're not so viciously at eachother's throats anymore... Huh. The way things have been lately, I was expecting the both of us to stay like that forever.
Raimundo's body was illuminated by the streetlight he was standing under-- he had his arms crossed, and perked up a bit when he saw Nina advancing. "Are you okay?" he asked, almost instinctively. "Why didn't you let me come with you? I'd have backed you up in that argument in a second--" She chuckled. "It's not necessary," she replied, "we made up. I... don't really understand how, though. One minute we were screaming at eachother, and you probably heard me when I was yelling and running after him, and then the next minute... We were hugging and apologizing." She decided to omit the kiss, it'd probably only get Rai worked up, and she decided it wasn't important anyway. She was also silently hoping he hadn't heard her implying that Maorde was her father. Much to her surprise, he smiled. "Good-- I'm glad for you two. Life's too short to hate another person, and there's just..." A sigh. "No point in hating. There's already enough of it, so why add insult to injury? But, listen to me, I'm going on and on about this-- you need to get your Pokemon healed." He nodded toward the door, and the two walked inside together.
The same nurse was present behind the counter as always. "Goodness, Nina," it's awfully late! Shouldn't you be at home sleeping? It's bad for your skin if you don't sleep." She chuckled a little bit. "Ah, I don't think it'll affect me too badly," she replied. "Besides which, my friend here couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd keep him company." She nodded in Raimundo's direction, who responded with a little wave. "Hello, Nurse Joy. My name's Rai." Joy smiled and introduced herself, saying it was a pleasure to meet him. "So, what can I do for you two tonight?" Nina took out the three Pokeballs that she was carrying with her. "Well, these three Pokemon got banged up pretty badly in a Gym battle I had earlier, against one of my friends. She... wiped the floor with me." The girl giggled sheepishly. "Do you mind healing them for me?" Nurse Joy took the Pokeballs. "Not at all. As you can see, we're extremely busy right now, so you may have a bit of a wait." She jokingly nodded towards the center of the room, as if to indicate the place was swarming with people; Nina turned her head and saw that it was entirely desolate, though. Shifting to look back at Joy, she chuckled. "My goodness, I might just need to sleep here tonight, I've never seen so many people at once!" Nurse Joy let out a little laugh. "I'll be back in a few minutes. In the meantime, you two may make yourselves more comfortable." She turned and walked into the back room where the healing machine was kept, while Nina plopped down on her favorite couch in the room.

The group surrounded her and laughed at her. They had started pulling at her hair and pushing her around. Maven tried to escape from their circle however they followed her. This was a regular occurence and was their fun. Maven despised herself that she was their play toy. She hated that this happened to her but she was powerless against it.
"Lookit poor Mavey lost her books again. Worthless you are." One of them had said. "She's so pathetic, you're nothing" Another one said and spit on her.
Maven couldn't tell who was saying what, everything was swimming around in her head. The circle of them was making her dizzy. She couldn't tell from one face to the others. Everything was blending and swirling. As they pushed her down upon the ground it would scratch her skin and blood had started to appear through her scrapes. She could feel their hands all over her and they made her feel dirty.
It had felt forever but finally they broke it up and walked away holding each other up from falling due to laughter. An older girl who had watched the entire thing ran over to Maven. She helped her up and gathered her things giving them to her gently. She had a slim figure, and black hair with dark eyes that barely held any light in them. They had chilled Maven to her bones. Maven tried to remember this girl but nothing came to mind. She looked her over and smiled slightly in thanks. She noticed she was wearing all black clothing, but on her shirt was a small r symbol that spiked Maven's curiosity. "T-t-t-thank y-y-you"
"You have no friends. Being the way you are...you never will." She said and walked away dismissing Maven.
Maven fell to the ground in tears. ************************************ She was sitting in a classroom writing down the notes the teacher had put on the board. They were learning about evolution today. He had left the classroom and like clockwork the rest of them turned throwing paper at her. The girl behind her was the same who helped her up earlier. She leaned back in her chair putting her feet up on the desk, ignoring the world.
Maven continued to take down her notes ignoring the papers hitting her. Knowing the walk home was going to be torture.
Maven whined again and all she could hear were the words that have haunted her for years. 'No friends, never will.'

Unfortunately the Iron Defense wasn't enough to save the Mawile from it's fate of being buried under all that sand. It was also lucky for Bahamut and Dante that this attack caused the steel pokemon to finally pass out. They didn't know that though since the Mawile was buried under all that sand. It was a good thing Missie figured it out, for some reason refs. were good at that sort of thing. Calling the match Missie and everyone else walked out into the arena with a frown on there face. "Well there, he beat you in a battle so stop calling him a thief. Beside's he returned the coin's that he said he found. They could have been a gift! Why would a thief split up all the money they earned and give it to a stranger?"
"Yes, after looking over our records yesterday I did indeed find someone who had purchased 2K worth of coin's." The manager said looking somewhat embarrassed. "So I guess these are indeed your's." He handed the bag back to Dante who took them back with a smile. "However if any of you hear anything about who took all those coin's then you must report it immediately to the authorities and whatever manager is on duty. Now that that is done I need to get everything ready for the tournament today. You will be joining right?" He cast a level gaze at Dante.
Nodding at the manager with a friendly smile on his face, coin's still in his hand, he watched as the whole group, except for Leon went back to there morning duties. Leon who was standing behind him had a slight grin on his face. "You know where the other 2K is don’t you."
A small smirk appeared on Dante's face. "Oh you know it." DANTE’S COIN’S 4,268/9,999

"Give it another Thundershock, Pikachu!" Train commaded simply. Pikachu did as was told, and the Zubat was soon lying on the ground, fainted.
Train and Pikachu ran out of Mt. Moon before anything else could try to battle them. They soon neared Pewter, and Train headed to the Pokemon Center.
Once there, Nurse Joy took Train's pokemon with a smile. Train sat in a vacant chair and waited.
"Miss, your pokemon are all healed." Nurse Joys voice came to Train, and she stook up and retrieved her pokemon. "Thanks." She said, and headed out the door, clipping Ratata's pokeball onto her belt and Pikachu climbing onto her shoulder.

Even in the silence, Ky could feel the tension rise. Little Guy was hidden, and that was a remarkable advantage. Even so, he knew he had to focus himself as a trainer. In order not to give away Little Guy's position, Ky stared blankly ahead, keeping an eye on the concentrating Scyther. "Little Guy, take your time! Once you see an opening, attack with Peck!" Ky shouted into the silence.
Meanwhile, Little Guy moved as carefully as he could while Ky spoke. With a little luck, Ky's loud voice would drown out any sound that Little Guy's talons would normally make as he shuffled into an attacking position, making sure his path was not hindered by any leaves or branches. Natu aren't known as birds of prey, so stealth was not quite his forte, though honestly it was hard to believe any bird could be insane enough to find a Scyther prey.
After lining up his target, Little Guy drew all of his power into his legs, leaning down to find the correct angle of attack. With one forward jolt, Little Guy rocketed off of the branch, wings tucked in as his body cut through the air like an arrow, his sharp beak aimed to penetrate on impact. Hoping that his sneak attack would connect, Little Guy watched carefully as he approached the bug. Even though its eyes were closed, he knew that if he wasn't careful, one wrong move could send himself straight into the dirt and leave him open for another attack.

“It’s so utterly simple, I can’t believe I haven’t thought of something like this before,” Mai chuckled, having heard the full content of Sheldon’s plan. It truly was very simple; if a Rocket member could switch places with one of the children, they’d be able to gain insight to what the brats were planning. However, it would take a lot of effort in order to maintain the illusion that nothing was different about them; a few careless words or actions could cause the others to become suspicious. “How soon can we begin?” Mai asked Cress sharply, staring at him through her cold eyes.
“Well Milady, it’s rather late – after midnight, in fact. I’m afraid Ivan did quite a number on you earlier. You’ve been unconscious for hours.”
“Is that so?” Mai asked again coldly, turning once more to glare at the large grunt, who in turn only blinked at her stupidly.
“Unfortunately, yes. But, if you wish, we can attempt a switch right now. That is, if you have a target in mind.” Cress fidgeted with the machine slowly, as now several cables and wires were hooked up to Alakazam. Although it appeared to be burdened, the Psychic-type remained calm and collected, looking almost pleased to be serving his master.
Mai smiled darkly, for she indeed had a target in mind. “Oh, I do, doctor. I do. However,” she struggled a bit under her restraints, and shook her head. “Now that you know you have my full cooperation, I’d appreciate it if you would undo these binds.”
“At once, Milady,” Cress nodded, stepping towards her. He paused for a moment, mulling something over in his mind. He gulped fearfully, and looked up at the beautiful woman before him. “On one condition, though.”
“Name it.”
“Once you are freed, I want you to promise that you will not harm either Ivan or myself. After all, without us, you would still be without a plan of action, and Giovanni would be breathing down your neck every second.”
Another dark grin flashed over the woman’s features, and she tilted her head slightly. “I promise,” she nodded slowly, “that I will not lay a finger on either of you.”
Cress grit his teeth and approached her, his hands trembling slightly as he fumbled to loosen the straps that bound Mai. He flexed his fingers awkwardly and backed up once she was freed, turning towards his beloved machine in order to begin preparations for the switch.
A resonating thunder rang out throughout the laboratory, and Cress tensed up, his eyes growing wide behind his horn-rimmed glasses. Realizing that he was unharmed, although shaking visibly, he stopped in mid-turn and turned back sharply, a horrified gasp escaping his throat at what he saw. Ivan had temporarily been rooted to the spot, a look of terror frozen on his face. A spot of red was visible on his forehead, and a thin trickle of blood seeped slowly down the bridge of his nose. The terrible silence that filled the lab was ended abruptly as the large man crashed to the floor, falling into a table and pulling a wide variety of things from its surface with him. He didn’t move in the slightest, for he was dead.

“B-but…b-but you said!” Cress sputtered, taking a step back and swallowing hard. “You said you wouldn’t hurt us!”
The gorgeous woman held a small pistol in her steady right hand, a thin trail of smoke wafting up from the barrel. She let out a content sigh, admiring the firearm in her hand. “Perhaps you misheard me, doctor,” she said, her voice sultry and low. “I know I said I wouldn’t lay a finger on either of you,” she chuckled, flipping her blonde hair from her face. “And in case you didn’t see it, I upheld my promise. I didn’t touch Ivan, the bullet did.” With a fluid motion, the still-smoking weapon was suddenly trained on Cress, following his every movement. “And I could very easily do the same to you, although I’m certain you’re aware of that. After all, the two of you did kidnap me, and I have the gash on the back of my head to prove it. These are very serious crimes, and I could just as easily kill you as turn you over to Giovanni. And if you’ve been labeled a traitor, well,” she laughed, “then you’d be facing things much worse than death.” Cress said nothing, only nodded as the admin spoke. “Now, I suggest we carry on with the plan, otherwise you’ll be joining your ruffian friend in the afterlife, understand?” Her eyes were still fixed on the quivering little man, who nodded meekly and began to ready the machine for the process. Mai lifted her leg and steadied her foot against the very table that had held her prisoner mere moments ago, and slid her pant leg up a ways so she could replace the pistol in its cleverly disguised holster. However, what she wouldn’t tell Cress was that the pistol had held but one bullet, having been mostly emptied earlier at the targeting range. But, she reasoned, the twitchy doctor didn’t need to know that.
“So then, shall we continue?” she asked, smiling sweetly at Cress, who looked like a Stantler caught in the headlights of an oncoming car.
“Of course,” he said, a quiver in his voice present as he did an once-over of his fallen comrade. Not wanting to meet the same fate, he sat down at his computer, and without delay, got to work. “There’s just one last thing, Milady,” he said timidly. “Who have you chosen as your target?”
“That answer is elementary, dear Doctor,” Mai grinned deviously. “Why, I’m targeting my sister, of course.”

Rai wore a moderately pensive expression on his face as he sat down next to the girl. "Hm. Nina, I need an opinion," he said. "Sure, what's up?" She leaned forward a bit and turned to look at him, resting her hands on her knees. "Well, I've been thinking this over for awhile, but I can't make a desicion... I want to get a new Pokemon, but I'm not sure what I'd like to capture." She tapped her index finger on her chin once or twice. "Well, what's your favorite Pokemon type? We could go from there." He shrugged. "I don't think I've got a favorite type, actually," he admitted. "It's hard to limit yourself to just one group of Pokemon because, more or less, they can all learn similar moves and become too predictable to battle against."
Hm. He had a point. "Well, okay. Then, let's take a look at the types of Pokemon you've got with you now-- Fire, Grass, Water, Flying, and Steel. That's a pretty well-balanced team in my opinion; your first three compliment eachothers' weaknesses pretty well, and Fearow and Lulu do the same for eachother. They're also the ones that use physical attacks, but your other three use special attacks, so why not balance things out and get another physical Pokemon?" He thought this over for a moment. "What, you mean like... a Fighting or Normal-type?"
Nina cringed a little bit at the mention of Fighting-types. She never really held them in a high regard. "Yeah, like a Normal-type. Whitney's the expert on that-- she can give you tips on the ones to pick from and to avoid and all that stuff. Unless, you already had one in mind?" Rai replied he didn't. "Not really, anyway. Norman from over in Hoenn uses a Slaking, and they're supposed to be pretty powerful. But, they're lazy from what I hear." She shrugged. "Eh, Normal-types aren't so much my specialty," she confessed. "Hell, even Psychic-types aren't, and I'm supposed to be the Gym Leader." She chuckled embarrassedly. "You had said earlier though that you wanted to breed a team you'd be using in the Gym though, right?" he asked. "Well, that'd be awesome, yeah," she replied. "I'd be with Pokemon that I would have raised from birth, so we'd naturally be a lot closer and know eachother better, as opposed to the relationship I've got with the other ones now. They-- heh, we barely know eachother. That's probably part of the reason I keep losing."
"Well, that's not your fault," Raimundo said. "Maybe you could do what Whitney suggested, and switch out one of the Pokemon you've got with you now and take one of the Gym Pokemon with you. That way, you'd travel together and get to learn more about eachother, because in my opinion it's just as important for a Pokemon to know a trainer as it is the converse." She debated this for a moment. "Well... they're mostly near Anna's and Krystal's levels as it is, so it wouldn't make a radical difference if I did that." A pause. "Yeah. I think I will. First thing in the morning, I'll switch out Sakura and take one of the Gym Pokemon with me. Sakura never sees the light of day anymore anyway, so I doubt she'll mind."
Ding. Nurse Joy came walking out with Nina's three Pokeballs on a small metallic purple tray, and set it down on the counter. "Nina? Your Pokemon are all healed, hon." Getting up, she headed towards the counter before picking up the Pokeballs and clipping them back onto her belt. "Ah, thanks a ton, Joy." She smiled a bit as the good nurse said, "It's not a problem. Now, I don't want you to be staying up much longer-- like I said, it's bad for your skin. And, for me, I get these awful headaches in the morning if I don't get enough sleep. That's always a fun time." She nodded towards the door after bidding both teens goodbye; and they stepped back outside once again, into the warm summer night.

As Spinarak panted and tried to recover from the attack, Haunter came back with another flaming fist. "Spinarak, dodge it now!" Despite her injuries, Spinarak put her all into it and managed to leap into the trees, avoiding the Fire Punch for a second time. This battle would have to end soon, Spinarak wasn't going to last much longer. "Alright Spinarak, Night Shade now! Let's finish this with an iron grip!" This was going to have to end now, no questions asked. Leaping out of the tree Spinarak landed on Haunter's back and held on tight with her jaws. Concentrating her energy, Spinarak's night shade slowly becan to flood out directly from her and into Haunter. Try as he might, Haunter could not get free and was slowly being eaten away by the shadow that now consumed him. In a last ditch effort, he tried another Fire Punch, but the shade covered his hand and extinguished the flames. There was nothing Haunter could do now but suffer until he finally fell, Spinarak stood the victor. "Heh, that'a girl. Rest up for now." He called Spinarak back into her pokeball and Let out Larvitar for his final round. Not surprising at all, the final opponent to step forth from the ghost team was a Gengar. "Tch. Let's go."

Train yawned. She felt like exploring some. She'd never been out of Kanto, but she knew the other regions very well.
She headed for Mt. Moon again. Since she'd been in it several times now, she was good at avoiding the wild pokemon she saw. A Zubat came after her once, but she lost it after going down a ladder.
Train came out the other side, and ran quickly to Cerulean. On her way there, she ran into a Pidgey. "Ah, what the heck. Pikachu, Thundershock!"
The Pidgey was low leveled, and didn't stand a chance. It fainted easily, and Train walked on, soon at Cerulean

Immediately Gengar jumped into battle with a glowing blue fist aimed directly at Larvitar. "Move!" As Larvitar dodged the punch, Crenu's eyes widened then he saw the Gengar make contact with a tree and freeze it instantly. "Ice punch huh, these ghosts don't mess around. No problem, Use Bite!" Larvitar charged forward with his jaws opened wide directly at Gengar. Gengar did not move, for some reaso nhe stood there and took the bite, wincing from the pain as the teeth sank into his ghostly body and dark energy surged through him. But as soon as the wincing began, it stopped as Gengar grinned evily and his hands glew blue. "Get outta there Larvitar!" it was to late, Gengar had let himself be struck to that he could get Larvitar point black with an Ice punch, Sending Lavitar skidding backwards into the ground. Larvitar stood wincing, but still strong. Gengar was also in pain, because just like the ice punch the bite was very effective against him and he suffered from it. Despite this, Gengar was ready to keep fighting, puttin ghis hands up above his head.

Kilik's bike halted in front of the Game Corner, his eyes set on the door. The lights flickered in his eyes. Cheers were heard from inside the arena. "And they're all for me!" he laughed, getting off his bike and starting to fold it up. He wasn't sure whether or not he just walked on in, then asked for a challenge. Kilik'd only been to the Game Corner once before. It filled him with such horrible memories and flashbacks, he wondered why the idea of being in a big arena would change anything.
Kilik tucked his bike back into his bag and stared at his reflection in the arena's doors. Could he do this? Was he really skilled enough to take on someone in a giant arena? "Yeah! If I can fight Gym Leaders and Team Rocket members, I can certainly take trainers down in an arena!" The boy clenched his fists tightly, "And the entire region will see me do it!" He entered the building with his head held up high and a smirk on his lips.

"Sand Storm quick!" Larvitar planted his feet firmly and unleashed his devastating attack on Gengar. Gengar was not unprepared however, as he was also attacking at this very moment. He brought his hands down and shot forth a powerful Shadow Ball that collided with the Sand Storm and slowly began to push it back. Sand spilled everywhere as the sand vortex groaned for control over this power battle. "heh, now Larvitar, Brick Break! Use one concentrated punch after you stop it!" larvitar nodded and let the sand storm die as his hands began to glow white. The shadow ball pushed forward and directly at lrvitar, who swung his left fist at the ball and knocked it back. However, before the ball left his proximity, right after he stuck it with his left first, Larvitar jumped forward and spun in the air, slamming his fist into the ball and sending it back at Gengar with even more force than before. Gengar did not expect this and took the full hit of the super charged Shadowball, getting knocked back several feet into the forest.
