Singis 17 I was wondering if I could get some critiques for my new drop troops list Doctrines. - drop troops - close order drill - Allow: stormtroppers - Special equipment: Carapace amour -allow: special weapon squads HQ Senior Officer - Power weapon, bolt pistol (carapace amour and drop troops) Veteran - lasguns Medic - Laspistol and ccw. Standard Bearer - Laspistol and ccw. Guardsman – master vox remove the mastervox and the vetren. This squad needs at least a few warm bodies that can be sacrificed for less than 12 pts. And since you don't have anything else with a vox the mastervox is an albetros around your neck. Quote: Commissar (2) bolt pistol&power weapon &carapace amour (total) Give him or the officer a power fist to help crack high toughness enemies. Quote: Special weapon squad Guardsmen (3) lasguns frag Krak melta bombs Guardsmen (3) (2) flamers (1) plasma gun Ewww. no meat and no clearly defined purpose. They can focus their attacks if you need them too and with them split up they need at least 3 seperate squads firing at them. Overall you need to cut some fat out of your army. I suggest cutting the Vetrens, Special squads and some of the stormtroopers. Then use the pts to add some actual tank killing potential to your army since at 2000 pts enemy armies are definatly going to be bringing some armor to the field.

well i re-did my list the reason i kept the stormtroopers because the have melta bombs and theat lets them to take on tanks.

Singis 17 Yea after posting that I realized that problem and the new list has every squad in first platoon with heavy bolters and all of second platoon has lascannon Well that's a bit more anti-tank fire. Don't think it's enough but it's more than I thought you had. Quote: and after reading your comments I probably would re-equip one of the stormtrooper squads with plasma guns. I don't think that flamers or Plasm guns are really what your special squads need since first thing that happens after they drop down is the entire enemy army turns and wastes the squad with concentrated firepower. It's 6 T3 models with 4+ save in the middle of an enemy vanguard. They can't possibly survive the first round of fireing and even if they did the tanks that are their targets can move away faster then they can charge. Why not give them a Melta gun? They can use it as soon as they come down and it might hit and kill a tank.

Still in all honesty, you'll be having a hard time. All infantry armies can be done, but in large numbers, especially when in the range of 2.000 and higher.

Personally, if you can talk about the fluff here of the Imperial guard, and how it relates to the tabletop game, why can you not talk about the DoW fluff, and the how that relates to the Imperial Guard too?
I find the Guard overpowered, according to fluff. How can they easily beat Space Marines, who are more modified than a rapper's LowRider, and then beat the awesome powers of Chaos, who are Space Marines, only with the power of 4 great ******** Gods?
I didn't see any disrespect there. I actually think he was doing what you were doing. Telling people to stay on topic and stuff. Just what you and he consider on topic are different. Difference of opinion is not a bannable offence.
