"Yes..." She said, shifting about uncomfortably as she mentally scolded herself for using such a tone, one hand moving up to push her mask up so that she could wipe her tears away with her finger, "She can't even remember Malodore and Jericho... It's the same as if a human were to die, and come back as a ghost or undead. They don't remember their past... I just..."
I just wished that she had stayed dead.
"Sorry," She muttered, and started walking away again, straight towards the bathrooms.

Mot shook his head a bit, processing this as fact as best he muster. He wanted to somehow ease her crying, but soon Lizzy headed somewhere Mot could not morally follow. Bathrooms. He would not follow here there. He gathered she needed time alone now. With a deep frown, Mot simply stood outside the gym in the hall. He rubbed his arm, eyes downcast to the floor.

Ah, simply delightful. She gave him an affectionate look when he mentioned how she liked them raw, and then served herself a plate of the sauteed kind. These will do. Ahh, a fork, yes, here we go..
She sounded like she was talking more to herself, than anyone else. In fact, she was still perusing the choices at the table, and picking out a few more sugary options, when she spoke again. Her voice sounded light, and simply curious.
Why do you allow the canine undead to touch you so familiarly? She murmured, sounding as if she'd just asked for the time.
The answer would have to wait, as another student came up to - well, to chirp at her. She stood up, giving Jericho a quick look, before her face lit up in a friendly expression.
Hello. You look lovely tonight.. She waited for Jericho to clue her in.

Jericho actually blinked when she picked up a fork. That was new. She never needed a fork before. And for a moment, he eyed her as if trying to find some hidden mouth the boogies might have cut for her. Yeah. No.
"She's a good friend, and I don't mind it really," he replied while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Is.. there a problem?"

The siren still trembled. It was her voice. It was her, in his head again. Fists curled in the dress as he tried to form something coherent. A jumble of emotions ran through him. She was alive. She was alive and not stone and she was talking to them and-
Shaking he got closer stopping to stand by her, lower lip trembling. He didn't want to cry. He didn't feel he should. He should be happy she was back. She was not a rock and didn't look like she was dead and-
Water welled up in his eyes and he sniffled. "I though-" Another sniffle. He was trying really hard not to cry. "I though died." He moved to hug her, bury his face in her chest like he used to. He was happy, but he was crying.
He'd always been an emotional one.

He didn't want to interrupt, or make her hate him before they'd even really begun to know one another. Thackery wasn't even sure that she liked hugs. And with tears in his eyes and a constant sniffling he couldn't stop...well. He didn't look very impressively strong, either. But all of the worries in the world couldn't stop him. He shuffled to the side of Riley not currently occupied by a distressed Israfel and reached out to hug her arm, tear-streaked face resting against it for a few quiet moments. Even after he pulled away, he still didn't speak--just looked up at her like a scareling might look at his hero.

Jericho was no help. And his answer was infuriating. But she couldn't focus on him, because the boil was coming up to her, tears in his eyes, and she knew it was going to be time for more hugs. So her arms opened willingly, collecting him up into her and holding him tight.
The poor thing was trembling.
I did. She answered, quite plainly, to his emotional words about her death. I got better.
And another hugger. She felt this one at her side, unexpectedly - one arm rose off Israfel to wrap around him.
She looked a little lost, holding the two in her arms - but her embrace was tight, and affectionate. She didn't know who they were - but whoever they were, they loved her. And that was too important of a string to cut.

"I twibed to sing to oob but you-you didbunt hur me." More sniffling and he snuggled up against her. "Donb die agun."
Points for trying at least.

The very last thing he ever would have expected her to do was hug him back. The simple little gesture brought a wave of simultaneous tears and comfort all at once, and Thackery didn't know what to say. What could he say? There were no words that would qualify as 'the right thing' right now.
When Israfel was finished, he tried to fight through all the sniffling, tried to push past the wave of what seemed like a thousand feelings all at once.
"Thank you," he finally tried, words broken with a little whimper. "Thank you...for getting better."
Such small words of gratitude still weren't enough. The Riley he'd admired from afar, mimicked in hopes of learning how to be as strong as she was one day, had managed to do something in the span of a minute that was more powerful than anything he ever might have imagined.
She'd given him courage again. She'd given him hope.

It was sad, that Riley would never know how powerful her few words had been for the two - or what they'd done for Thackery. All she knew was that they seemed happy, and that was her doing.
Mission accomplished.
I will do my best. She assured Israfel, as she'd only understood the last thing he'd said. Thackery's addition to the conversation was.. tender. Her eyes crescented as she looked down at him, and pressed the flat plane of her face against his forehead.
You're welcome. Thank you for wanting me to get better.

The horsewoman's way of describing how they would search for her date only made Mitzi's grin widen; she had to struggle a bit, in fact, not to snicker, but she didn't want to offend her new... friend? It was just so out of place for the situation, although that led the ghoul to remembering why the horsemen were even there, which sobered her back up. Just in time, apparently, as Shaheen's attention suddenly turned back to her, and the horsewoman surprised the ghoul with her question. Mitzi had been so distracted by Shaheen shanghaiing her to look for Shik that the ghoul had forgotten entirely about the fact that she was supposed to find her own date, at some point. "Oh, right... I don't actually know, I haven't found him yet. Er, rather, a friend set me up with someone, and he's supposed to find me..." All she knew about the boil was that he was a demon, so it wasn't even like she could do anything about finding him. Speak of the devildemon, as just then she heard a voice off to her side speak her name. She turned, quirking an eyebrow, but given that she was sure she had never met him before, she suspected that the boil before her was her date. At first glance she was... well, she wasn't impressed, but she wasn't unimpressed either. He certainly was wearing a very nice suit, even if his demeanor seemed to indicate he was less than enthused to be there. "Yeah, I'm Mitzi," she replied. "You wouldn't happen to be Chryses, would you?" She flashed him a smile, just on principle. Besides, she was determined to have fun tonight, and she did rather hope this boil would too.

Astra had been distracted for some time, deciding to dissapear to the ghouls toilets in order to salvage what remained of her dress. When she came back, she could see a few students had gathered around another... ....Was she seeing things? Could this be true? She saw the purple tentacles that were her trademark, although marked by insanity in a way that enhanced her beauty more then marred it. The red gown she wore reminded her so heavily of a rose, one that was tempted with thorns to show that it was not only beautiful, but dangerous as well. She panicked when her vision blued, afraid she would lose her, but quickly realized she was already crying her eyes out. No surprise there. But perhaps even more so was that it was Her. Standing there, hugging others, just being there and not being dead. Slowly the fae approached, moving so slowly in fear the mindflayer would vanish from her sight. Go back to being dead and gone. "..R-riley?" Her voice ended in a choked sob hardly above a whisper. She looked up towards her, hoping she would respond and confirm her thoughts, that she was there, really, really, truly there...

"Yup, Jericho isn't brooding for once and Shehk's a lot happier for it. I don't always approve of the two of them because I think he'll break her heart into two again, buuuut they seem to be having a go-"
Eeeeeeeek!
The shriek quickly tore Sammy's attention away from the phone and a wicked grin danced across her lips. "Siddie, Siddie, Siddie, I told you that would happen with a top like that." Looking around to make sure no one was looking too hard before she did, she would reach up and slip a hand into Siddie's top plucking the mask out and then some with an innocent whistle.
Yay boobies!

Although terribly late, even by her own standards, Hadiyya had eventually arrived at prom. It was a wonder she'd even bothered to show up at all, considering her nergal was currently home visiting his mother and aunts, but she had eventually given into the mixed desire to attend and spent the better portion of her evening getting dressed and arranging her hair so there would be little chance of it getting trod on by her fellow students. Considering how very much hair she had, it hadn't been an easy task. A thin braid cut across her forehead, the end buried within a nest even more narrow braids, all of them twisted and looped around into an intricate knot at the back of her head. What hadn't been braided was left loose to cascade down her back, but the length ended at the back of her calves, rather then trailing the floor as it usually did. Her dress was her usual skin baring attire, though she'd gone a little more traditional, and as it was, more festive. All black and gold, satin, feathers, and pressed metal coins. She'd paired the outfit with a mask in matching blacks and golds. It even had a lovely little plume of feathers. Altogether, the ghoul felt she looked quite nice considering she hadn't intended on showing up at all only hours before. As she entered the gymnasium the ghoul paused within the double doors to gather her barrings and take note of who was around. Then further hesitating as the sight of so many happy couples emphasized the emptiness beside her where Sharra should be. She missed him, it was obvious in the press of her lips and the slight sadness reflecting in glowing blue eyes. The point of attending tonight's event was to help take her mind of his absence, and although she knew she'd be aware of his void at the prom, she surely would have felt it more had she stayed in her room. Forcing dark features into her usual serenity, the ghoul left the safety of the door and entered the throng of moving body, searching for familiar faces, and spotting one she didn't expect to ever see again, let alone at a school dance. It made her freeze, breath catching in her throat as she stared wide eyed at the knot of students surrounding what had to be a mirage. Riley was dead, she'd heard the rumors, seen the statue being taken away. She'd felt the lose of losing a dear friend, not only her own, but everyone around her as well. But there she was. Swallowing a sudden lump in her throat, Yaya found herself unsure what to do. There were already so many people milling about the mindflayer, she didn't want to intrude, and yet.. and yet she'd missed Riley. They might have begun to grow apart as their school lives had went on, but they'd been good friends, and Hadiyya still considered her special. Not even sure if it would work, the djinn focused all her attention on the other demon. Throwing a single thought, for Riley alone. I'm happy you're alive.Nio Love I know you're swamped, but Yaya sends some mental love! <3

He shrugged. "The horseman, I dunno, he was a strange one--he's from famine. He said he lost a lot, so he wanted to see what he's got now, y'know? I'm gonna take him on a trip, show him around, keep him from takin' important stuff apart. And most important, get away from here a bit, myself." Which he did all too often, and he knew it. Danny was gonna be pissed, and Amphi--he frowned, Amphi lost her rights to give him crap over bein' gone when she used the jackin' "friend" line on him. "And yeah, once," he said. "First time. Why?"
