We are the swift... We are the strong...  Pepperpaw[Pepperpaw followed Spadepaw's gaze toward Eaglewind. Pepperpaw since his mentor had banned him from training, had resented him. Though Eaglewind was his mentor and he had to respect that.]
[Pepperpaw kneaded the ground for a moment, internally debating.] I can't chicken out! I need to be trained.
[Slowly he nodded his head a stood, giving his fur a quick shake.] "Thank you. Let's go then..."
[Pepperpaw waited for a heartbeat before padding to Eaglewind. He looked up at the large warrior and let out a deep breath.] "Hello Eaglewind." We are and always will be... Breezeclan...

We are the swift... We are the strong... Pepperpaw [Pepperpaw's ears drooped at the warrior's word. He hadn't even given them a chance to talk. He glanced at Spadepaw, hoping to gain strength from her.]
"Please, hear us out." [He pleaded with his mentor.] "I was not trying offend for make you angry. I was merely voicing my opinion."
[Pepperpaw looked at Eaglewind, hopeful. Praying to StarClan that he would understand.] We are and always will be... Breezeclan...

"I understand how you must be angered, and it is true that Pepperpaw should not have spoken back to you, but a true warrior..."
[Spadepaw felt energy rising up in her, and a her voice was full of confidence and strength now, and oddly, sounding like Doveflight's voice.]
"A true warrior wouldn't keep from training their apprentice over personal issues. And two moons is far too long of a postponement for a newly-made apprentice. It is true younger cats must learn from their mistakes, but that is too far a consequence, and if need be, i will consult Galestar about this, and there can be consequences for you as well, Eaglewind."
[She froze, realizing all she had said.]

We are the swift... We are the strong... Pepperpaw [Pepperpaw had drawn in a breath to retaliate, to blame Eaglewind for bringing up the topic of Jaywing in the first place. Just as he was about to speak, Spadepaw voiced her opinion.]
[He stared at her in a disbelieving manor. He wondered where that had come from. It sounded like an older she-cat, one full of honor and understanding. Just like Doveflight.]
[Pepperpaw turned to look back at Eaglewind, awaiting his reaction and response. No doubt he would just as surprised as Pepperpaw had.] We are and always will be... Breezeclan...

[She narrowed her eyes, and the calm of doveflight's memory left her in that instance.]
"It's not going to work!"
[She mewed, and let her pelt lie flat again.]

We are the swift... We are the strong... Pepperpaw "Let's just leave, he's not going to see reason." [Pepperpaw whispered, leaning over toward Spadepaw.] "Galestar can find me a new mentor."
[Pepperpaw stood and stretched, preparing himself to leave. He tried to act as if Eaglewind leaving didn't bother him even though it did. It made him shiver inside. He he did leave then it would be two cats in one day. What luck.] We are and always will be... Breezeclan...

[She mewed with a bit of a bitter sound. It was almost as if Joypaw had rallied up the rest of the clan against her, or something! Ghostkit surely hated Spadepaw, Eaglewind now, No doubt Joypaw despised her. Probably even Dicepaw! It was almost as if Breezeclan was against her choice in mate entirely.]

We are the swift... We are the strong... Pepperpaw [Pepperpaw took heavy steps as he left the warrior to his food, not bothering with a farewell or any sort of pleasantry. He waited until he was far from ear shot.]
"Stupid piece of fox dung!" [Pepperpaw swore, grinding his paws into the ground with a hiss.] "He's luck I didn't scratch his eyes out!" [He pace while muttering to himself. It seemed like everything in the forest was against him. Every time he tried to make a decision he believe to be right, something would come up and punish him for it.]
[Pepperpaw stopped pacing when he was sure he had worn a trench in the ground. Slowly he looked around the camp. So many warriors, mentor, and apprentices. How long would it be until they turned on him. There was only one cat he could trust. Spadepaw. Not even his sister, Saltpaw was trustworthy, not if she was learning from Jaywing.] We are and always will be... Breezeclan...

[She paused.]
"Pepperpaw, i never meant to wreck your friendship with Joypaw just to be with you, please remember that."
(Can i make an amv of the Joypaw-Pepperpaw-Spadepaw ordeal? I keep hearing this song play in my head every time i type up about Spadepaw's love with Pepperpaw and all.)

We are the swift... We are the strong... Pepperpaw [Pepperpaw looked at Spadepaw, highly surprised that she had brought up Joypaw. he looked at the ground, a wave of guilt washing over him.]
"It is not your fault. It's mine. I should have explained my feelings about you to her and explained that her and I could only be friends. Then maybe she would have taken time to think about it and maybe eventually be alright with it."
[Pepperpaw moved closer to Spadepaw, pressing up against her.]
"But instead I ignored her until the very last moment. I saved her from falling off a cliff the night Cometstream...became upset. And I did hadn't shown that I cared whether she had fallen or not. I abandoned her. But all that is in the past now. I have learned from my mistakes and hope and pray that I will get a chance to properly talk to her and explain myself and my behavior."
