Hiddochi wolf ((O.o *came back for a bit*)) [Liar! ... I'm going to time skip] It wasn't long, thanks to the Atlantis' upgrades, before the ship reached the Pyresian ship around the Empire's border. "What are they doing here? Jad can you talk to them and ask what they're doing on your ship?"

Aerclayr paused for a minute. If it had been happening to anybody else, and Aerclayr had just been watching, he would have laughed - two people were stopping to chat to each other in the middle of a wanna-be battle.
"Damien? Damien who? There's a Damien currently in the same party as my bounty."
Aerclayr threw his second throwing star at Layla, his attention still on Vexis. Getting close, Aerclayr drew a sword he had snagged somewhere inside the building at some time in the past.

((i forgot about that... sweatdrop maybe it missed? And lol that banner was based off a thread in CIF (main guild forum) that was made a while back...apparently Zphal had a dream about some guy in a green man-thong, so one of the other VCs made that as a joke... xd ))
Layla jumped to her feet immediately, only to be stuck through by a throwing star. Layla pulled out the little bladed weapon, almost no damage had been caused to her -it seemed to have hit one of the more metallic spots on her. "Pathetic! Not even strong enough to damage my under-skin!" Layla looked down at Vexis, thoroughly puzzling out something in her mind. "You're a Synith, aren't you? I wouldn't waste more time out here if I were you, after all, its your special day of the month don't you realize?" She said with a wicked grin on her face, waiting for Vexis' reaction.
Vexis' neon pink eyes widened at what Layla had said, how did she know this? Was it true? What day was it really? "How do you...? Why...? Wha-" Vexis felt her voice gradually become quieter with each word she said. She looked down at her arm, strange marks were already forming on her skin, it was true. "s**t!! I need to leave NOW!!!" Vexis shouted out at Aerclayr, clearly panicked about something. Vexis tried to run off towards the nearest ship (which was Judgment Primera), but Layla immediately jumped in front of her, preventing her leave. 'Dammit! I don't have much time left...I need to get inside an enclosed area quickly! Why do I always take on more than I can handle?!'

Aerclayr grinned, laughing even before the throwing star exploded with the force of futuristic cannon-fire.
Of course Layla was dead. This Aerclayr assumed, running quickly after Vexis. Hopefully the... whatever she was... had turned intangible for the duration of the explosion.
"You say we need to leave? Let's go!" He shouted into the smoke, assuming Vexis was still alive.

Vexis was thrown back several feet from the explosion, landing roughly near the edge of the rooftop. She got up sorely, her entire left side had been slightly scraped up by the landing. "You could have warned me about that, y'know!" She whined and complained, but time was running a bit short for that now. Vexis rushed off towards the ship, forcing her way through the mechanical door. The marks on her arms were expanding fast, all of which looked like a grid of some sort. 'Not much longer...I need to find a small and secure enough place...'

Aerclayr noted Vexis' peculiar condition as he boarded the ship behind her. "Is there anything I need to know about you - like what's happening right now - or are we good?"

Vexis glanced back at Aerclayr briefly, her pinkish eyes were now more of a faded purple color. "T-the worst that could happen is that my body might disintegrate into mere molecules and not re-solidify if I don't stay enclosed in a small, cold s-space..." She explained, her voice a bit shaky due to an intense pain pulsing throughout her body. Vexis shoved through the next door, her skin was turning a pale color, almost see-through, the markings completely covered her now. She slammed the door shut behind her, then sat down in the corner, waiting out this terrible time that all Syniths went through.

Aerclayr frowned. "That's... bad." Then he remembered his gauntlet.
"Hold on - I've got to get my gauntlet - it'll help you." The Aerclayr was off in a flash. He'd just found out on the ship's computer terminal where the armory inside Sentinel was kept. It wouldn't take him two minutes to get his gauntlet and whatever else he needed and to get back. Then its effects could be put into use....

Vexis stayed put in her corner, the cold metallic walls and floor of the room helped delay the effect of her metamorphosis slightly. No one really understands what causes this odd reaction in Syniths, it only happens on one certain day of the month. The majority of Synith deaths have been caused by this, only very few have survived past their 1,000th birthday, Vexis was one of them. Vexis pulled her knees in close to her chest, trying to make herself as small as she possibly could. 'I-I should have kept track of the day...I could've stayed home today and left tomorrow...why didn't I? Sometimes I can be such a moron...' She thought to herself, cringing slightly as the pain grew more severe.

Aerclayr came back with a gauntlet and a few other items in tow. The mercenary walked into the room, fitting the gauntlet on his arm securely.
"Hold on," he muttered, before activating the thing. Instead of electricity came a chill. After a moment, this chill grew so cold it would be unbearable to ordinary humans. The black gauntlet's color changed to blue-white as its surface froze over, seemingly changing into glass. This was just the special properties of the metal - it changed appearance based on temperature and other factors.
Aerclayr was not human - not completely human, anyway - so he felt no discomfort from the chill. He stood, and waited, determined to ride out this conundrum until it was over.
He could not explain why he felt so drawn to Vexis, and didn't think about it.
