-Heart jolts a little at Sil's words, instantly mentally punishing himself for it. Resists a groan, not wanting to give her the wrong idea. It's what he thought after hearing little Sil and it's what made him ignore her for a bit, but he finds the side of him he's supposed to suppress has been getting the upperhand inside his mind-
-Realizes he's been silent for a while, but doesn't really know what to say.- ..I.. thought you loved Cross? -Speaks quietly, looking around the room in case anyone is in hearing distance, not wanting to be overheard in fear of the conversation getting back to Bookman.-

-Lets her words wash over him and feels a slight twinge of annoyance at how she was always teasing him about girls, even though she felt that way, but shakes it off quickly. Much to his surprise, a laugh escapes his lips when she talks about Cross, because he had always thought it was the other way around.-
That's not your fault, I always assumed he was like that because he knew I... -Stops, and glances over at her when she mentions the Bookman beliefs, frowning- It's... already too late for that now. But... -Wishes it were any other way, that he didn't have these obligations, then he'd be the happiest guy in the world right now and he would have told her in an instant her love isn't unrequited.-

I told you it wasn't your fault. *Reaches a hand over and pats his knee lightly, hoping that at least made the situation better even if she is massively embarrassed at the admittance of one sided feelings.*

Of course it was his fault, he lied to her about being over her. All he had been trying to do the past couple of days was make her happy again after the thing with Cross, but apparently he had the opposite effect.-
