"Oh, bless your heart, Arlen." 'Josh' beamed, ducking his head a bit before he took a seat at the bar. "Is it just you and your lady then?" he asked, winking again and making a nudging motion with his elbow. "Weren't exptectin' to be interrupted, was ya?" At that, he guffawed loudly before taking a sip of the drink, eyes on Arlen.
By now, Lily was blushing as well. Almost as if trying to hide from the outspoken man, she sank down onto the couch, only her ears visible.

Arlen wasn't quite sure what the man was getting at (wink wink nudge nudge say no more), but his cheeks redenned further. "At least for now," he said, putting the whiskey away. "Is there anything else I could get for you?"

Josh sighed and shook his head, sending droplets of water everywhere; a small puddle was collecting beneath the stool he was sitting on. "Well, sir, just some directions, if you think you could. I've gotten rather turned about, you see."

"South at the moment, sir." Josh answered, nodding quickly, eyes going wide with fright. "There's word of a mage 'round here, one that likes killins and dark spells. Ain't no place to be anymore. If you two had any sense, you'd get gone yourselfs. Word is..." his voice lowered theatrically, and he glanced around the room as if checking for listeners. "Word is, he's lookin' for a gal what looks like yours." Now of course, he'd have to start the rumors in town, but... he figured Tynan had to be good for something.

Arlen frowned. "That does sound serious," he said worried, and then his face grew very serious and a fierce light came to his eyes. "But nobody is going to harm Lily." he said with absolute certainty. "South is all? Well, I'm pretty sure that south is that way," he pointed southwards. "I thought you would need directions to a specific place."

Cursing inwardly, he blinked, then smiled. "Glad to hear that. I'd hate for harm to come to such a pretty little thing. And yes, sir, south. There is a place I'm headed to in specific. Name of Hawert. You know the way? How about you, miss?" he called, turning his eyes to Lily, wondering at her reaction.
Lily, who'd been listening rather half-heartedly since mention of a mage, looked up, blinking. "H-hawert? That's... that's... to the south alright." she murmured, appearing a bit startled. "You just take the main road from town for about ten leagues, then head southwest at the fork in the road.

"There you go sir," Arlen said, smiling a silent thanks to Lily. "I haven't been south of her myself so I haven't even heard of Hawert."

"Oh, it's only a little town, hardly nobody heard of it." Josh answered, nodding once and smiling at Lily. "Surprised the gal knows it. I got family there myself. A sister and her husband, and their little one, Anna. Haven't seen her now in 'bout three years... she'll be five, 'less I miss my mark." This time, though he was dying to see how she'd react, he kept his eyes on Arlen, beaming.
"A-anna?" Lily asked, paling considerably. She stood then, shaking, and walked over to Arlen, clinging to him tightly. "I... I hope you find your family in good health." she murmured, hiding her face in her boyfriend's chest.

Arlen suddenly understood Lily's actions and hugged her back. "Well I wish you a safe journey," he said to the man, forcing himself to not betray Lily by showing any undue emotions. "I hope your family is well and that you don't run into this wizard."

Keeping the smirk that wanted to escape in check, Josh nodded, then quaffed the rest of his whiskey before standing, tugging his forelock again. "Really, miss, sir, thank you ever so much. I'll be sure to remember you both in my evening prayers." With another beaming smile and a nod to Arlen, he stood up and departed, whistling. As soon as the door was closed behind him, he stuffed his hands in his pockets, humble exterior melting away as he followed his magic towards Tynan; to be thorough, he'd have the man start rumors, and they could discuss a plan he had.
When the man was gone, Lily let out a small, choked sob, trembling as she held tightly to Arlen. "Oh gods..."

Ukaia sighed gratefully seeing the muffin coming into sight. With an unconcious Bai in one arm.. a drenched Jake in the other. and Trina being guided by her tail. She was wet, cold and irratated at what was going on. But quite glad to have her little brother in her arms. She went to the door and kicked it lightly

Trina only nodded, letting herself be led. "Thank you...I really...should have stayed..." She murmured, dark eyes watching the ground with the slightest of frowns. Trina didn't appear to be thinking properly. But when Ukaia kicked the door, she took a stumble forward and opened it for her, leaning on it to keep from falling down. She was seeing funny too...odd..

*After seeing Trina to a seat inside the Muffin, Aitrus moved over to the fireplace, tossing a couple more logs in and driving one of his swords through them. In a flash they ignited all the way through with a blue flame and were quickly reduced to very hot cinders to better heat the room quickly. With that done he tossed another log on top of the cinders to keep the fire going longer after those cinders burned out.*
