Streamjumper Skizzors What I think's going to happen is, eventually, the 1st generation item will hit its final evolution. Then, it won't suddenly be open for ALL the stages, but the lower ones will be stuck where they are. For example, the Pora Ice 1st gen hits its final evolution. At the same time, the 2nd gen will be one stage before that. The 3rd gen will be one stage before the 2nd. And they'll all just stay like that, so if you want the item from the 4th stage, you have to buy the corresponding generation. I really don't think that is the case. I think they just found a way to cash into the "I had it first" mentality with an item that delivers that feeling at periodic stages. So, what? Eventually all the generations will turn into the final stage and be able to be equipped as any stage? That seems a little counterproductive to me.. I guess it would be fairest for users who didn't pounce on the cash shop first thing, but that doesn't seem to be how things work anymore. There'd be a much bigger demand for 1st gens if they remained the only item to have the final stage. Maybe they'll all have a spectrum of stages, but only up to a limit? 1st stage has all, 2nd has all but the final, 3rd has all but the final and the one before, etc. Just ideas. *shrug*

Maybe it was just me?It was only broken for a half hour for me. And it kept sporatically coming back just long enough for me to make a post... Kind of baffling. =/

I guess it would be fairest for users who didn't pounce on the cash shop first thing, but that doesn't seem to be how things work anymore. There'd be a much bigger demand for 1st gens if they remained the only item to have the final stage. And yet every single event item release (and others, as seen by the Kaya release) sees a massive initial price as people scramble to be one of the first to own an item that everyone knows will soon sell for way less as it inevitably floods the market. Gaians want to be in the first wave of everything, whether it be an item release, a feature preview, or an item getting a new evolution. Evolving items serve to deliver this euphoria over and over again. As for being able to equip at any stage, that seems to be pure conjecture on the part of the userbase. I'd like it to be so, but I'm not holding my breath either. Quote: Maybe they'll all have a spectrum of stages, but only up to a limit? 1st stage has all, 2nd has all but the final, 3rd has all but the final and the one before, etc. Just ideas. *shrug* They have already indicated that different generations may eventually have different forms at different stages. Whether this changes every generation or at certain breakpoints has yet to be seen... Where all Pora Ices might be the same, one might find that generations 1-3 of the Agate are totally different from 4-6 at the end stage. At the same point, the Doodad might not show any differences til generation 5 or 6, and remain the same til generation 11. I think the key is remembering that they have mentioned that later issues might differ from earlier ones. As for me, Gaia's been cutting in and out for the last hour or so... Hey Hila, how exactly do you want gifts sent to your mule... Sending em anon with the note saying who they need to go to, or non-anon with the note reading the intended message so you can rewrap and send em?

So, I know we have recently mentioned the possibility of adopting one or several noobs, as we have done in the past.
Any criteria anyone has for our pet selection process? Any preference for the number?

Stream, if you could send them in a trade to hilazilla without wrapping them, that would be best. If you want a message sent with them, please PM that to hilazilla and I will put that in when I giftwrap and send everything.

Like the first-gen Fausto may be blue and the second purple, stuff like that. The Pora Ice may very well share forms across generations since its evolution is fast. (At least, I hope. And I wouldn't be surprised if it did.) If they were trying to cash in on people wanting to be all, "I was there first!" they would have stated that when they were released. The evolving items, I should note, cannot be equipped at any stage. Once your Pora Ice turns into a bear, it stays a bear. (Hence, the wanking about "ZOMG THE ITEM THAT YOU SAID WOULD CHANGE ACTUALLY CHANGED FIX THIS FAGGOTRY NOW scream ") You can keep a first gen in its stage; however, due to the way the item works (its data is actually changed between generations), you can't just change your avatar and keep it. You're forced to re-equip the thing.

to pick a flower laaame. people who have ranma listed in their interest totals a little over 1k. naruto? over 97 thousand. There's something horribly wrong with a nearly 20 year old series that started its US release schedule something like 14-16 years ago being less popular than the new hotness that started its run in Japan about 4 years ago and its US run a year ago? Especially when most of Gaia was born right around when Ranma came to the US. Tell me, do you also find it rational to seriously lament the lack of Leave it to Beaver fans when compared to stuff like American Idol? Ranma is a great show, but you have to take into account that it is indeed dated in terms of animation, dub/translation conventions (both on the dub and sub), humor, and appeal. A lot of its fanbase (myself included) will openly admit that a large part of their persisting love for it has to do with the fact that when they first started watching it, it was one of the only titles coming out in the US, and probably the only long running title at its time.
