Monks and Rangers are classes (kinda like jobs, but a lot more specialized) you can play in Dungeons and Dragons, or other roleplaying series with similar sets of rules. Each class is unique in itself and defines what your character can do. Monks are masters of martial arts and spiritual oneness, and they get a lot of abilities and skills based on that. Rangers are master hunters and woodsmen, trained to track and take down specific types of enemies and their skills are reflective of that. There are dozens of other classes too, depending on which rule set you're using. There are also Rogues (thieves, con artists, think sneaky-sneaky), Wizards and Sorcerers (who have spells and such at their disposal), Druids (one with nature and animals), Paladins (champions of justice!), Fighters (sword, shield and armor masters, as well as tons of different fighting skills) and also Clerics. Clerics rely on magic and skills given to them by devotion to a certain deity (god or goddess) and they are also fantastic healers in a pinch, though evil clerics are not so much with the healing and much more with the hurt...
...I'm rambling....sorry. I could go on for days about D&D. xP
Edit: I forgot about Bards....lol! They use songs and stories and such to their advantage and they are quite skillful... Jacks of all trades, masters of none!

Oh okay. I was really just wondering what games they were from. I only use to play Maplestory, so I recognize some of the names, but the others I know them but don't know their abilities

Mikallen Sir Upper Crust the 3rd I rolled a natural 20 and jackass is my favored enemy. What kind of loser plays Ranger? Monks all the way. Pfft, Monks are as full of lose as fire type pokemon. But hey, don't let me stop you from being a corn muffin.

Once your trolling loses its subtlety, it becomes ineffective. @Aire - Monks start to get a little cheap around seventh level, but before then they're really frail. The one you fought might have been like a super powered monster type encounter, or just really lucky. Then again, around seventh level every class starts getting really strong. Don't get me started on caster classes. But I do love my Monk/Drunken Master character. Mikallen kicked some serious a**.
