AzurePaleSky LOL friend drama makes me feel like I'm in high school again. In high school I was friends with these three girls (from freshman to senior years), but we didn't have much in common... they talked about American Idle when I wanted to talk about good music or literature or something (or even, just anything..). Anyway, they got mad when I dumped my boyfriend and got another one and just stopped talking to me while I was hospitalized for a week. Then they said that while I was in the hospital, I was spreading rumors about my ex and one of them being together. xd Oh yeah, while I get surgery I love to call up all the people I know at school and tell them rumors. Shouj remembers this time well... she had a little bout with one of them on livejournal. heart Bitches.

Agreed with everything said about PETA. I get pretty irritated when there are people out there degrade meat-eaters or think they're sub-human. It's one thing to not eat meat because of either living a healthier lifestyle or even as a personal stand against the inhumane treatment of farmed animals, but when they go out to say anyone who eats meat is a monster and obviously supports those inhumane treatments...ugh. Get a life. I love animals and I think it sucks the way they are kept and harvested but I still eat meats. It's like there is no middle ground or gray area for them. Maybe they should, instead of talking down about every meat-eater out there, try to reform the ways that they keep and slaughter animals into a more humane way. The whole world isn't going to stop and be like "hey, I'm gonna stop eating meat to bring down those businesses." That's just not going to happen. I think it is possible to have some level of reform and that really should be their goal. Pulling s**t like they are makes them look terrible.

I think it is possible to have some level of reform and that really should be their goal. Pulling s**t like they are makes them look terrible. Exactly. Instead of going out there bashing everyone that they consider monsters, why not try to do something about it and help your organization more by reforming the standards for many mistreatments of animals? Just because I eat chicken or red meat once and a while doesn't make me a monster. Hell, look in my bathroom. Everything in there I have to make sure has a label saying it's not tested on animals, I don't wear leather clothes or leather shoes, I've studied animal rights and endangered animals since I was ten. I was a vegetarian for four years, and all of their crazy s**t that's pulled does not make me want to go back to being a vegetarian or putting up posters featuring somebody wearing furs. There are other things going on that all this crazy effort could be put into. Why are they spending money putting together posters and videos to bash a couple of celebrities? What about, you know, putting that towards the betterment of some local animal shelters or fund raisers for endangered animals? I don't see anything about their reaction to that huge oil spill the other day. What do I see? Them bashing the Olsen Twins. ...sorry, I'm done with the topic. I just got a little irate. sweatdrop

Streamjumper I felt that yule was being under-represented in our holiday dress, so I took a shot at it. I wish we had sickles... I had to choose between a golden sword or the bloody machete. I think we have a scythe!

We do, but druids used golden sickles to cut the holly and mistletoe off sacred oaks... and they ritually used swords in the ritual fight between the holly king and oak king during the Yule celebrations. They really didn't use scythes.

Akimbo Streamjumper RaeRae Rave Akimbo Streamjumper Akimbo What the <********> PETA? What are those overreacting tools up to again? PETA vs The Olsen TwinsSeriously, what the ********? I'm as upset about the use of fur as the next person when it comes to killing harmless animals, but what the ******** PETA? They're just a bunch of radicals that make themselves look worse than help their cause, attacking the flippin Olsen Twins isn't going to make people stand up and be like "HEY YOU'RE RIGHT. WE NEED TO STOP KILLING THEM MINKS". That's why I don't go for PETA, I may be an activist on my own level but I'm not ready to go that far and come off as an idiot. Be sure to check out the myspace they made. ... That's pretty sick. They're acting pretty childish about it- it may be important to them, but there are WAY better ways to get things done than bullying. But that's more or less the standard modus operandi for PETA. I don't particularly agree much with fashion fur, due to the rampant conditions in fur farms... much for the same reason that I don't particularly like the idea of veal... but these ******** need to learn that one needs to accept that you can't win every battle just by upping the ante with childish name calling and temper tantrums. Once upon a time they were a respectable organization, but much like many other causes they were taken over by rabid extremists. You know, once upon a time I liked PETA and agreed with them. But now..man, all the stunts they pull like this just make me unhappy with them even more. I'm not a fashion of fur or cruelty towards animals at all, I'm rather against it actually and get weird about some of the products that I buy. I'm not sure I'd ever want to go along with PETA, though, with the way that they conduct most of their operations in the goal of animal rights. There has got to be better things that they could be doing than going after, now, the Olsen Twins. What happened to fundraising and trying to get people to join their cause with a valid, well spoken message? I could look at them bashing people all the time, but will I ever hate those people? No, I'll still focus on the animals. So what, they're celebrities and they wear fur, that's their choice and making some website about them along with posters and doing a whole campaign to assault isn't helping at all. The thing I hate the most is when the activists "liberate" animals ... and instead of seeing that they go to good homes, they just let them out in the wild... not that they can necessarily take care of themselves anymore or that the environment is right for them. It's too bad that the extremists make the entire cause look bad. Really if PETA wanted to shape up, they would publicly and actively disown any events and banish any members who pulled the crazy stuff or went a little too far in what they were saying. Of course, I also wish other organizations/religions would do this. If the moderates would stand up and say 'no!' immediately, we'd get more done. Of course, I suppose it's the crazies that have time to do these things. People with moderate views are too busy actually being productive. I don't eat mammals because they taste bad smile
