He hated it when his parents fought. Reminded him of when he was a lot younger and every fight could mean his mother was walking out and never coming back. Those days had sucked so badly and he'd always turned to his father for the love and support he knew he'd find. Sometimes he'd even cried on him, but only after 'stubbing his toe' or 'hitting his head' or some other malady that crying would be acceptable for him, not because his father had a problem with him crying but because if Dad knew the real reason, he might not let his mother come back. Very messed up relationships in the early days.

"Aside from the bruises I have criscrossing my back and nether regions, nothing's broken. Chaos has just been introduced into your household via my parents." A shake of his head. "They're fighting."

"That's different. You don't fight back and I just get frustrated." The appeasement she'd been about to offer him complete disintegrated and she got even more irritated and flung off his arm as though it were a snake about to bite. "That is not what I said and you damn well know it. I didn't say I was excused, you just didn't give me a chance to finish. I'm ******** sorry for being a little b***h, alright? And for the record, you were being an a** by refusing to listen to me when I had a damn good reason for wanting things my way." Spinning on her heel, she stalked outside and into the second set of stables which was now filled with her own babies and grabbing a brush, began to groom one of her horses.

"Alright, fair is fair. You can enjoy that. though.."

a glance at their position.

"there maybe some other things to enjoy if you want. after all the boys are in good hands, the toddlers and being babysat by the girls..."

before hearing the yelling.

"and the Inthara's are fighting again. just like old times."

A slight chuckle there.

"Again?" His parents fighting was nothing new to this place. If anyone was fighting it was those two...someone usually instiagated something or other and then out came the barbing and then blah ick happened all around. But he watched as Zahara reappeared outside one more and stalked to the stables. "Wow, she's pissed. So what happens now?"

"Sometimes there's no need to fight back and if you are going to start fights like this, then you would do well to remember what you say and how you say it before it ever leaves your mouth. And don't act like a child when it is used back against you because you put it on the field to begin with." Tone a tad clipped but he wasn't yelling at her. As far as he was concerned, she hadn't apologized. No because she had said it with spite and hadn't even been able to say it the first time she tried. He wasn't worht a sincere apology when she was knowingly wrong. Selfish pedestal behavior. But as she walked out, he ran a hand back through his hair and plopped in a nearby seat. Stress...

"Oh so now I get to be right do I? Well good, because I am right and you're wrong. Plain and simple, that's all there is to it." Giving a chuckle and then shaking her head. "What is that a proposition as you have my arm wrenched behind my back? My my Lord D'vinn, your methods are getting a take less intincing in your old ways, hm?" Poking fun at him just because she could before shaking her head. "Old time indeed...you still obsess over them." Giving another smirk to that. He was too easy at times.

"I'm betting Dad's moreso, which truly doesn't happen very often. She probably tried to apologize in her own way and only upset him more to which he responded angrily and pissed her off." A shake of his head and he sighed, "All we can do is wait. It depends on the way they act when they get around each other. If he's really upset with something she's done, he'll give her the silent treatment which in turn will make her miserable and she'll do whatever she can to make it up to him. You have to understand the dynamics, really. I'm used to it. Remembering that fighting is what put them together usually helps."

Yup, she was pissed. She'd caught his return comments and they just pissed her off even more. So much so that she brushed the nightmare a little too hard and got fangs. Hissing as the sharp teeth dug into her hand, she plopped down on a random barrel in the stables, cradling it, tears burning her eyes. She hated it when he refused to even consider things she was saying and the reasons behind why she wanted them done. Of course it had already occurred to her that if she'd approached it differently, the fight might not have happened at all. But she'd still been smarting from his earlier insinuation and only wanted to snipe back.

"I'm not obsessing. only paying attention. I'd prefer not to have our good plate thrown from one drow at another if they get into a particularly bad tiff."

though pulling her forward a bit and nuzzling her neck some and giving her another kiss.

"Hey, being in control in the bedroom is something you've always at least seemed to enjoy from me. or at the very least your hoarse voice often goes to prove that."

yes he could pick back too.

"Not to mention, you wearing yourself out with our youngest does give me a bit more of an advantage, now doesn't it, miss invincible?"

"You know, your mom always had a funny way of apologizing. Makes sense." Shrugging lightly before reaching over and patting his friend's shoulder. "You're brave, you know that? But yeah you're right. We all remember that story. You know we could always bodily break or hurt something to make her feel better, you know how she finds it amusing when we 'do stupid male things that get us mangled' as she puts it. Sure we shouldn't go check on her?"

Plate are replaceable, and if you would try doing the activity, you would find exactly how much of a stress relief that was." Giving a chuckle to all his attempts of affection that were given to soothe and entice her into things. He was so full of himself sometimes. "Only because I don't have to do the majority of the work. But admittedly, I can still blame you for said being worn out, after all who created that boy? That's right, you." Setting him with another smirk, yes she was playing hard to get simply because she could. "Better watch yourself there, Lord D'vinn, or I may not scream for you anymore."

"She hates doing it because it means she was wrong and she hates being wrong." He chuckled and gestured to the jousting practice field, "Brave? Or stupid? But you don't think this is stupid and male enough for her? She even specifically told us to be careful." He glanced at the stables for a moment and then nodded, "Yes, we should. Usually when she's upset she does something stupid that causes her to get hurt and then Dad'll get even more irritated and things won't get any better. Come on."

Pushing open the stable doors, he heard the sound of muted crying and his stomach dropped to his feet. He hated seeing any of the women in his family cry, his little sister's included. Walking over, he knelt in front of her and took her hand. "Got a little rough with the Nightmares, hmm? You know better than that." Then a glance at Malikhai, "Go get me some bandages."

Zahara glanced up into her own eyes though their usual brightness was muted because of the tears gathered in hers. "Don't you lecture me too. I get enough of that from your father." Frowning for a moment, she glanced up at Malikhai and then over to Zykariel. "Aren't you two supposed to be babysitting?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 23, 2007 11:57 pm

"hey, we have metal dinnerware if you just want to throw something. I think you women just enjoy hearing the sound of it shatter more than the throwing."

but a 'hmph' sound at her blaming him still for exhaustion.

"So now our son's are 'extenuated malik fatigue' because I happen to have a streak going for boy production? and it's only exhausting becuase in that case you do all the work."

but a look of mock hurt at her last comment. hey they both knew there were having fun and enjoying some time to themselves with one toddler needing something or a teenager wanting something.

"not scream for me anymore? but I really, really like it when you scream for me.."

"Everyone hates being wrong. They just do." Shrugging lightly and setting down his makeshift jousting material, slipping down off his horse he followed after hsi friend to con comfort a woman he knew as aunt. A little frown at crying noises, crying was never a good thing. But a nod to his friend and he walked over to a medicine chest they had in the stables for such things, pullin out some salve and bandaging he walked back over to Zahara and took her hand, taking to doctoring it. "We got let off the babysitting hook, so now we're jousting." That should give her something to focus on.

"Yes, we do. And that's the exact point, to hear something break on the outside so we don't break on the inside. Believe dear, it's a nice way of therapy." Giving a little chuckle and a flick of gold from her eyes at him as he started into the little obstinate and pissy routine of his. Even if it was in play and they both knew it. Leaning in, despite the hold he still had on her, she nuzzled at him. "You can make up the exhaustion to me later when you're not in battle mode. You can stay up with him then, better?" Kissing him lightly then, "You don't really really like it when I scream. You love it. You also love the other things I do. Which makes the thought of me saying 'no' to you, all more fun. After all, you can't say you don't enjoy the hunt after me when I've been denying you a oh...week or two. That sharp look in your eyes, the tone to your voice as you try at first to woo me, before moving onto other tactics." An old game of theirs by now.

"I wasn't lecturing, just pointing something out. Doesn't look too bad." He let Malikhai take care of her hand and then leaned against one of the stalls. "So here's the main question of the hour, Mom. Why are you and Dad fighting this time?"

"Jousting?! Why? Don't you two do anything that doesn't put you in serious harm's way?" A shake of her head and she jerked lightly when her skin was rubbed with the bandages. Her gaze moved up to her son's and she shrugged, "Common subjects we don't see eye to eye on. He said something to upset me and I responded defensively and said something I shouldn't have. What it's about is none of your concern so don't even ask."

"You women are just strange sometimes."

A small grin at her affections, and a raise of the eyebrow.

"Is that a challenge? I could have you right now if I really wanted you know."

but he did let her arms go, and instead swept her up off the bed, and carried her downstairs.

"I think you need something to eat as well, with all your exhaustion you need to build up some of your strength."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 24, 2007 5:25 pm

"Mm, not really. We're teenage boys, it's what we do." Merely responding with the statement that was often said about these two. They always seemed to be getting into something that caused bodily harm. "But truthfully, I was told I could be in tournament this year, so it's all in good practice." Finishing up her hand and turning a smirk and a snicker to his friend. "You honestly expected a straight answer on that question? You know we're not told anything." A pondering look. "You know, in my house, it's always dad that says the wrong thing."

"You find it endearing." But her grin matched his own. "Oh is that what you think? You're sorely mistaken...I would be sure that you would find it to be the most unenjoyable experience you'd ever have with me. Some things, you can't just simply have from me...but you've known that for years, My Lord." Giving a melodic laugh as he let her go but instead of further pinning her down like she expected, he picked her up and she laced her arms around his neck. "Tease. Strength for what?" Still playing the ame and thus giving him a suggestive look before another light laugh. "You're forever trying to feed me, aren't you?"

"The tournament? Well, I daresay that will be interesting to say the least. You'll do just fine." Flexing her fingers lightly, she nodded to the job he'd done on her hand and then stood up and went back to brushing the nightmare, whispering her apology. "Will you be participating as well, Kariel?"

He shook his head, "Depends on who you talk to in my house. Dad always says the thing that sets her off and vice versa. Truthfully, they're usually both at fault and both to be blamed and I'm pretty sure it's not much different in most houses." Turning an amused look to his mother, he shrugged, "I can't help if I don't know. But no, I wasn't planning on it. I'm not really the show offy type with fighting skills. Not that you are either, Khai. I just don't think it would be fair. That's your time to shine, not mine."

He turned back to his mother and gently rested his hands on her shoulders. "How about this. You go in there adn talk to him and let him talk to you and work it all out before dinner when everything gets brought to the table and you both have to listen to Uncle Malik laugh and Aunt Piper mediate?"

She shook her head. "Nope. I already did apologize to him and he just got more pissy. If he wants it solved, he better come to me."

Zykariel rolled his eyes. "You know he won't. He leaves things alone and chooses not to pursue them. Something in his passive nature." That word was said with quite a bit of disgust before he glanced at Malikhai. "In other words, dinner is going to be an interesting affair."

Inside all hell had broken loose when Kelligrin had decided to practice his walking right in the middle of the game. Unfortunately the child was far too new at the walking thing and his boots had slipped on the pieces already laying down, causing him to fall back and bring all the other pieces that had been stood up down as well. He'd also poked himself with the shiny jewel his father had given him earlier since it had taken residence in his pocket. Thus Lyssthyren was now combing the halls, searching for her father. "DADDY! KELLIGRIN'S IN TROUBLE!!!!"

"Strength for something fun later. though whose fun is up for debate."

before setting her down at the table, though he did hear the shouting girl. but he'd let Sevilin deal with it. probably help his stress or anger levels right now.

"and yes, I am. you don't eat hardly at all, wether you get full or not. it's unhealthy."

A slight snicker.

"Maybe because I'm so full of energy, and you don't eat enough to match it, that we keep getting boys."

"I'm not personally competing with you anyway, I wouldn't mind if you entered at all. But you're lazy, so." Grinnin before he blinked and seemed to think for a moment. "Yeah...it does always happen that way doesn't it. Though I think dad more of gloats and sings 'I told you so' in his head, more so than just laughs." Shrugging lightly, it was amusing to say the least at times. "One of those dinners huh? Well, let's just try not to pissily shove food and stuff at each other, okay? Make the little ones want to throw it and I don't need food on me. It belongs in me not one me." Patting his stomach with a grin.

As per usual, when he couldn't clean when he was upset, he worked...and there was plenty to do around here now wasn't there? Muchly. Though it was easy enough to hear a screaming girl. Yup, that was one of his with something about one of his others. Had a whole pack and this is what happened. Sighing he turned and headed toward her screaming. "The angry trouble or the crying trouble?" Nothing serious he knew that much, his runes would of told him.

"I like debates, I usually win." Grinnign at him before she was plopped at the table, turning her head breifly to the yelling before back to Malik as he continued to pick. "Since you've known me, it's the way I've always eaten except when I'm pregnant. And I'm perfectly healthy." Narrowing her eyes some though in mock anger that was probably just playful annoyance. "Don't try to blame it on me now. And if I dare say I'm reading between the lines correctly, that's you saying 'Get fat so we can have a girl 'Chev'. Am I right?" Twistin words was fun, wasn't it? "Children on your mind again already?" Was it odd that he could be so casual when could be looming in dark corners? Perhaps.
