I find it humourous that they're discussing how gregar can summon a b-rank summon for a c-rank cost, when my character has the possibility to throw an E-rank suiton jutsu for a d-rank cost and have it impact with an a-rank effect.

Yeah, but squirting a bit of water, even with A-rank power still isn't that powerful.

Cobra_X duckmasta I find it humourous that they're discussing how gregar can summon a b-rank summon for a c-rank cost, when my character has the possibility to throw an E-rank suiton jutsu for a d-rank cost and have it impact with an a-rank effect. How's that work?... that doesn't sound right. Well nowhere in the rulebook, chakra system, or any other area (To my knowledge, I don't have access to crew area)does it state that bonuses to jutsu rank (not learning bonuses) don't stack. My shinobi types are elemental affinity (Suiton Ninjutsu) and Offensive. right there is a bonus of +2 or +3 if near a large source of water. On top of that, My character is a Hoshigaki, thus gaining +1 rank to suiton jutsu. Essentially this equates to a +3 or +4 bonus in rank to my suiton techniques. Thus an E-rank which normally costs 2 chakra, costs 3 and is boosted to d-rank by the effect of Offensive type. further more because I use Suiton jutsu, My hoshigaki clan bonus makes it a c-rank. Finally Elemental affinity gives me +1 or +2 if near water. in the end I have either a B-rank or A-rank Suiton jutsu for the cost of a D-rank. You can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure my math is solid.

Actually, ther IS a rule against stacking ninja types, the same rule that does not allow you to stack tactical, support ninja, and the training grounds bonus to give -8 posts for training in any jutsu.

Well I'm telling you right now that those strength bonuses will not stack either.

Gregar828 Well I'm telling you right now that those strength bonuses will not stack either. The entire basis of my character was to be able to defeat his Elemental weakness in a war of Attrition. When I had submitted my character concept to Lance he had not informed me of that rule. If you will allow, I will change my character's shinobi skills to something else, as I'd rather not create an entirely new character.

I have no Idea who your talking about, seeing as a hoshigaki's elemental weakness certainly is not water, but come on. Did you HONESTLY believe we would EVER allow something so stupidly overpowered like a D rank jutsu having A ranked power? Seriously, think these things through.

Before you go and get on my case about it. I had considered that fact and informed Lance what I was planning on doing. I also told him to tell me not to do it and he told me to do whatever I wanted. Now, this is in no way an attempt to contradict what your ruling. I agree with you wholeheartedly that it shouldn't be allowed. I'm just asking whether or not I can change up my character's Shinobi types, since what I originally was going to do has now been nerfed. @fenrir: My character design originally allowed me to spend 3 chakra for a B-rank to A-rank Suiton technique, whereas a Doton user would've forced to spend 5 or 7 chakra (generally speaking, if he/she had no bonuses to rank or greater than average chakra control) in order to counter it.

Wait, when did I say this? I don't think I would have said yest to making E-ranked jutsus that powerful, maybe I mis-understood you, or you mis-understood me or something
