hilaroma Streamjumper Ash, you and Kin should submit your addies to the list. You guys might also consider adding your thoughts to the Secret Santa thread if you plan to participate. It would help me out a lot! sweatdrop I've been pretty lazy as of late with my free time. After work I just want to go home and veg ... reading what you guys say and then watching some animu before playing a few VGs and going to bed. Remind me to try and think of something if you see me on AIM this weekend.

I'm a bit too excited about this so I'd better let it out here:
Hiro's mojo is ******** fierce. So since about last April, he's gotten to know and has become pretty good friends with this one fairly famous Hip Hop upperclassman fellow from Japan who's a big yo-yo fan. When Hiro's in his area, they'll meet up at special club events and hang out/drink together, then have breakfast at a family restaurant afterward.
Anyway, they hadn't seen eachother in a while since Hiro doesn't live in Tokyo anymore, so today Hiro called him up to see if the guy'd ever be down south sometime so they could hang out. Long story short, he ended up inviting Hiro to a special concert whose tickets are pretty highly sought-after right now...for FREE, and then afterwards they'll hit the club and waste the night away.
I'm seriously so happy for him right now!! whee heart
Anyway, back to my schoolwork. sweatdrop

Peppermint Elf I'm wondering if I should hold a drawing or something for real life prizes to be sent out with the christmas cards. I have a bunch of stuff knitted up that is just sitting around waiting to be loved. wink
Free Swag: 3 white scarves (f) 1 red hat 1 pair of black and white mittens 1 pair of slippers 1 brown scarf (m)
Everything is machine washable. Slippers can easily be dyed to any color (gotta love kool-aid dying!). 3nodding
Maybe a grand prize of 1 pair of hand knitted socks in the winner's choice of colors? Would anyone be interested in this? Of course, it would have to be limited to the people who signed up for xmas cards (since I have their addresses). Or should I just... randomly gift these babies and play favorites? twisted
(Oh... and Mala would be excluded from this contest. I've already bought her a gift. domokun ) 4laugh heart Bwee.

Streamjumper Mala, I have absolutely nothing to say about your post whatsoever, but rather I feel the need to mention that I had to try reading what you wrote no less than six or seven times because I kept laughing hard enough at your avvie to totally lose my the little concentration reading a post requires. *waggles eyebrows*
Seriously, googly-eyes and sharky-mouth are the best combination of items on Gaia. Ever.

So I'm ******** back for real, kids. Here's my triumphant return review for BC of the Beowulf movie:Quote: There's a great, depressing scene in Trainspotting (okay so the whole movie is made up of great, depressing scenes) where Sick Boy is talking about the inevitable decay that old age brings, using Sean Connery's career as his thesis. It's one of those scenes that just goes on to haunt you because you want to prove the sickly little heroin addicted ******** wrong, but there's just too much evidence to the contrary popping up all over the place to get that smug satisfaction. Like Neil Gaiman. The man was a genius. He helped blow the entire comic book industry open in that golden age of the late eighties to early nineties with the seminal, affecting, goth girl baiting Sandman. He then went on to become a New York Times Bestselling Author three times over or something like that, and even turned in a stellar collaboration with the venerable Terry Pratchett. I used to look to him as a kind of guardian of storytelling and folklore, because until recently that's really what he was. He brought it to all his projects from the Vertigo Tarot deck he helped design to his most recent (and fairly decent if a bit tattered around the edges) novel Anansi Boys. I say used to because he co-wrote the script to Beowulf, which is the biggest atrocity committed against literature since the burning of the library at Alexandria. If you want a picture of exactly what was done to the Beowulf epic, imagine if the Lord of the Rings trilogy was compressed into a single movie and sloppily animated. Oh right, that's been done too. Look, I could write a lot of fiery invective about how disappointing and overall shitty the movie was. I've done it before and I could do it again. But I won't. I can't bring myself to waste the words to chastise someone who knows better. Angelina Jolie's tits look great rendered in 3d using current technology, but I'm pretty sure that you see her real breasts in that movie where she played the model. I know she at least kisses a couple girls. So you can be the judge of what's more worth your time; Angelina Jolie's tits animated and gold, or real while she's kissing another girl. I'm not being shallow here, I'm being realistic about what this movie has to offer, and that's just about it. I guess it takes some kind of skill to turn Beowulf's fight with Grendel into an extended sight gag eerily reminiscent of the naked wrestling scene in Borat, but that's a very twisted, blackened, hollowed out kind of skill. ******** it, I give up. If you actually watch the movie, you get what you deserve. Nothing, a*****e.

I love paying bills online. In 5 minutes, I paid my cable/internet bill, my auto insurance, AND my phone bill (cell and land line).
And now I have the rest of the day free!
