That shut both his sisters up, which he was quite pleased about and he crossed his arms, standing over them. Blinking when his father popped up, he chuckled, "Obviously Malik said no." That sucked in and of itself but at least he might not have to be a babysitter anymore. Heading back into the living room, he started tossing the toys back into the playpen, aware of how a**l his father was about cleaning.

It didn't take them long to finish their food and both girls were fixing up the kitchen before turning to their brother who was making an absolute mess out of his spaghetti. At least Zykariel hadn't given him sauce or he'd have to have a bath and change of clothes before he went anywhere. Faate shook her head and lifted him out of his highchair and handed him to her father. "Gotta get my boots and cloak. You too, Lyssie."

Kelligrin gave a happy noise at seeing his father and then pushed the noodles in his hand at his father's mouth, his hands coated in butter and cheese. "Daddy eat too." Thus lifting his sippy cup to his mouth and finishing it out before throwing it in the sink with a crash. "Kelli all done."

Zahara blinked for a moment. Double picture game? Not that she had a clue of what that was but Dhairiss would clue her in soon enough. "Eat some chicken little one. It's good for you. Just a couple bites." At the very least he was willing to eat green beans which was a good vegetable for him. She finished off her omelette in record time and then frowned. Sevilin had just left. What was that man up to now?

And spaghetti shoved in the face, to which he merely craned his neck some to pull his head back away from the invasive hand insitent on feedin him. "No thank you, I'll eat dinner." Never mind that he hadn't had a meal yet today. Grasping the child's wrist lightly, he pulled the hand away and pulled the spahetti out of his fingers and duly wiped both of thier hands off. But he was impressed that the boy made the cup hit the sink. "Hm, you're too good at that Kel. But yes I see that you're done." But he waited for his other children before it was a matter of simple translocation for him. "And now I feel better." Tossing Kel once in the air before catching him again.

He frowned at his chicken, not sure that he wanted to indulge it, but for the sake of being the nonconfrontational child that he way, he took to eating a few more bites in that awkard fork handling skill. Gettin another quarter of the chicken down he looked to Zahara as he put his fork down and drank down his milk. "All done." And there would be no arguing of that...especially as he dropped down off his chair, falling back onto his bottom with a squeak of a noise of sorts.

Zahara's plate had already been taken and she was watching Dhairiss closely to see what he was willing to eat. Rather pleased he did in fact eat some of his chicken, she left the mashed potatoes alone and watched him hop on. Laughing, she reached down and grasped him by his armpits, pulling him back up. "Now, time to go play the double picture game? I'm not sure I know how to play. Do you think you can teach me?"

He pouted when his father didn't want any of his lunch but that was quickly forgotten in light of the sort of praise he got. He saw it as praise and gave a crooked little grin, reminiscent of his older brother and father's. He didn't like translocation because it made his tummy feel funny and he tugged on his father's hair for a moment ready to be fussy when he was tossed in the air instead. Giving a surprised sound, he laughed. " 'Gain!"

Zykariel tugged on his sisters' braids just to annoy them and gave a nod to his father. "Does this mean I'm off the babysitting hook or just that I get to go recruit Malikhai to help?" Either one would work for him at that moment in time but he'd really like to be done...although he figured the latter would probably take place.

Malik gave his son a long look at that last request. with an impassive expression that said nothing of the weighing options and countermeasures and dealings and such going on in his head.

"give me a reason other than because Zykariel wants you to, and point out at least one thing that can not be learned here, and I'll bring the subject up with your mother and defend your points and she what she says about it and then we'll make a joint decision on the matter."

Basically..convince me first to let you go, and then I'll work on convincing your mother to let you go.

"I can teach." Taking her hand and giving a tug, leading her off to the library in the house and then going to a small chest in the corner, pulling out a both that rattled when he did so and he brought it out to the floor, dumping the pices out. Flat thick rectangles that had a scap of color and line one side, and then a different scrap of color and line on the other teh same with both short ends "You gotta figure how to put them so they make a picture when you look down at them...then they fall and make another." Esspentially, picture dominos.

See, he knew to think up reasons and he had a good one already lined up. "Social interaction and skills that I can gain from access and exposure to people around me that won't merely accomodate me because I one, live here and two, you can come and hurt people in two seconds if I'm upset." Pausing a moment before adding to his argument on another level with his father. "And the girl exposure would be nice too."

And fussy things avoided from the child and he lightly tossed him again, much to the child's giggling and his relief at avoided tears and such. But a look to his older son and then a look between Malik and Malikhai before back to Zykariel. "I'll let you off the hook, you don't have to babysit." Getting what one could say was almost a wicked grin. "Besides, you'll be being babysat yourself anyway. No sense to add anymore burden to you."

She walked off with him, watching as he pulled down the chest and then glanced over the pieces. It connected relatively quickly what he was saying and she nodded. Picking up one domino she set it out and then glanced to him to find the match. "Which one, Dhairiss?" Putting another two matching ones together as she waited. Hm, Sevilin was back and now all the other children were as well. What in the hell was going on? And why wasn't she consulted?

The girls wandered through the house, searching for Dhairiss and Piper but found their mother and Dhairiss instead. "Ooh, dominos. I wanna play too!" Thus plopping down and shooing their mother off. "We'll watch him and play with him. Daddy's in with Uncle Malik."

Zahara nodded and pushed herself to her feet. "If he gets upset or anything, come find me not Piper. Understood?" Catching their agreement, she moved back through the hallways until she located the boys, reaching out for her son who rather excitedly called to her and made the grabby hands. "You went to get the children?"

The celebration that was about to take place quickly died and Zykariel glanced at his father for a moment and frowned, "Are you serious? Come on. There's nothing that could possibly happen to us within Twilight." He wasn't really listening to Malik and Malikhai go back and forth because he knew that whatever decision was reached he would find out anyway.

"Acceptable reasons. Alright I'll consult your mother on it when she wakes up, and we'll see if it'll be arranged. however, you will be going with a bodyguard. I'll just make sure it's an out of the way one. agreed?"

He pickecd up the right piece, standing it up so the picture piece on the end matched to the one Zahara had stood up, smiling in that easy going and satisfied way as he usually did. And then a happier look at well as a happy giggle as the girls joined him in his game. They were always fun to play with, though sometimes they played girly things.

He held onto his squirming son a little more firmly when Zahara walked in, the boy instantly wanting the object of his seperation anxitey, or vice versa. "Yes, the boys were itching to get together to cause trouble, and right now is not a good time to let them handle such things on thier own. So I brought the kids here so the boys can have thier time." Turning a look to Zykariel. "Not my decree son, that's Malik's word on things right now."

See, he knew he had an actual argument this time...didn't take him too long to figure out that he better come prepared with one, or not to come at all. A slightly disgruntled look at being told about the whole bodyguard thing, but there were some things you just didn't fight your parents on. "Long as no one knows I'm being shadowed. And you know...she says yes better when you ask her things when she's half out of it." Giving one of those manipulator smiles of his.

Lyssie sat down and pulled Dhairiss right onto her lap, kissing the top of his head then went about playing as well. Dhairiss was so much more fun than a baby doll because his mama wasn't around him all the time and he'd pretty much let her do whatever she wanted to him, within reason of course. Kelligrin would just cry and then she'd get into trouble.

Her hands dropped when she realized Sevilin wasn't giving up their youngest and she remained right where she was, turning a glance to her oldest before nodding. "Too much going on right now with the thieves and I assume you're going to be investigating various things for a while. Just watch your runing levels and take a break every few hours, that's all I ask." Before turning a glance to Malik. "Did Piper move the records?"

He wasn't pleased to be denied what he wanted and he squirmed again and called out to his mother, then pouted and tugged on his father's hair in that 'didn't you hear me' way. "Mine." Said quite insistently.

Zykariel frowned but it smoothed out and he gave a nod. "Right, no leaving. At least we can be together instead of separate and bored out of our minds." Waiting to make sure the conversation between Malikhai and his father was done, he jerked his head. "Come on and I'll tell you everything you need to know about you-know-who."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 13, 2007 8:55 pm

"I'll wait until she's awake, thank you."

giving a slightly annoyed look at that advice. how many other things had his boy gotten away with by asking his mother when she was half in reverie. Before his attention turned to Zahara.

"No, I moved them just a little while ago, I needed to look at them."

Malik got up and walked over to teh area he and Piperhad been at with the book keeper, and he picked up her records out from under a pile of other books.

"Sorry about not putting it back. other things took precedence at the time."

Handing it over, before giving her a small grin.

"I take it Piper's absence was you sending her to bed?"

Malikhai wrinkled his nose. "You're no fun." And here he thought he could get an easy yes...well it had been worth a shot. Who knows maybe his father's wicked streak would kick in and he'd want something else she was likely to say no to too, and he'd go for it. He could always hope now couldn't he? But his attention turned to his friend without another word of fuss to his father and he nodded, heading off to his friend. "Oh what you're going to socially educate me before I get thrown to the wolves?"

He was quite happy to sit there and play with the girls, getting the whole of the pieces all standing, before knocking them down to get another picture and then it was back to sitting them up on opposing sides to get two other different pictures. But yes, quite happy to let the girls pretty much do whatever to him.

No, he wasn't giving up that baby. Piper had been a catalyst to a seperation process that both Zahara and Kelligrin needed to go through and he wasn't going to let that catalyst burn out. Instead he merely boucned the child lightly to distract him some. Wasn't too hard. Though he did give a chuckle and a look to his son despite the hair pulling. "Actually, she's mine. You just think you own her." Reaching into a pocket and pulling out a multi-colored stone, flashing it to the child. Nothing like pretty colors to keep a child distracted. "Yes Sweetheart, I'll be careful..." She worried.

Faatallon was playing the game with him but Lyssie had pulled out a brush and various colored ribbons and was fixing his shorter hair into an elaborate style that involved many little ponytail trees in the various spots where it was too short to actually lay down, held by multicolored ribbons.

Kelligrin chuckled and flopped on Malikhai's bed, watching the guard take his place at the door. "Close that. I don't like the thought of him watching me..." But he flipped onto his side and nodded, "I'd never send you in there without something to use. And I'll be there the whole time if you wish. Gotta have a buddy when making a foray like that. Packs of girls are damn near impossible to break, but I got you covered. So, what do you want to know? I don't know how you flirt or garner attention so I'm usually too busy doing my own."

"Mine first?" he asked though quickly forgot about it and reached for the pretty stone. Mommy was completely forgotten in light of all the pretty colors and he giggled as the light threw some of the colors onto the wall. "Mine!" Then a pause and he took the stone into his hand. "Show sissy?"

Making sure her son was indeed distracted, she turned to Malik. "Damn straight. Poor thing looked completely worn out. Had trouble with Dhairiss last night?" She was very happy to see the records because for a moment she'd thought teh thieves had taken them as well, which would make sense for breeding and pricing purposes, if in fact they were planning to resell them. Flipping one of the biggest books open in her hands, she traced down the lineage to the one she wanted and nodded. "So, Sevilin's going to be investigating various things. Does that mean we're all on house arrest here until this is solved?"

A small nod.

"Sevilin can confirm certain accusations by my book keeper...who is undergoing his own punishment for his part in this. However, he said he felt or found a magical or runic anomaly. something he couldn't identify. which has me as you might expect, very concerned. We have agreed though that we'll do as we noramlly do. so not a real lockdown, but I am having extra guards watch Piper and the children. If Sevilin opts not to stay here, I can send some of my droag to your home if you want."

Malik glanced at her record searching.

"I thought the same thing, particularly after my son and I noticed that crate at the last camp we cleared out. none of the ones they were trying for were champions..inf fact, the bloodlines seemed to be partiuclarly non champions. they were looking for mounts of thier own, and targeted the lesser bloodlines to try and avoid protective measures. Apparently they didn't consider that all of the bloodlines are equally important to Piper and you...and especially to Ramoth."

He seemed oblivious to the happenings of his hair, or he didn't mind and was letting Lyssie have her fun. After all, she wasn't hurting him or restricting him from his own play and thus why cause a fuss at all. Even if his 'cousin' in a sense was more or less girling him up.

Malikhai kicked the door closed, at least he was indeed allowed to do such a thing. Have some privacy but still technically being watched. Leaning against the now closed door, he propped up a foot on it and crossed his arms as he watched Zykariel occupy his bed. "Foray? I don't think it's that serious..." Shaking his head lightly, "So then, I get to be the leader and you get to be the wing man this time? There's a change. And well...I don't know how to flirt. I just sort of talk about the things we seemed to have in common. And people usually come to me." Art of flirting not his fortay at the moment. "Anyone I need to just avoid?"

He chuckled again. "No, mine first. But good for you in being determined." Patting the child on the back in good natured fashion as he was duly distracted with his new plaything. "Yes, that can be yours." Going about lowering the child to the floor and standing him up on his feet, holding him upright for a moment so he could get his balance rather than let him drop straight to his hands and knees to crawl. Trying to get the child to start walking. "Sure, go show them." Not afraid to let the child wander off, mostly because he could see the library door from where he stood.

Gods that was creepy...watching some guy watch them. "This is all about you, man, not me. I already have my social exposure and such. You need your own and there's only one way to get that." He grinned, "And that's by doing it yourself." He quirked one eyebrow and chuckled, "Hopefully they won't eat you alive." He paused and thought it over, "Anyone who is allergic to blue? Or just doesn't like the color..." Yes, he was screwing with his best friend, but this was a big deal and he needed to keep his lighthearted side going.

Runic anomaly? That meant more work for Sevilin, more worry for her, and far more protective measures with her children. She snapped the book closed and shook her head. "Stealing is stealing, it doesn't matter what bloodlines they took. My guess is not only did they not want to take champions but they probably wanted work horses and most believe that horses bred for speed do not pull and strain. Of course when it comes to Nightmares, Zephmares and variations of both, they can do either and kick any normal horses a** while doing it." She made a face thinking about droag in her house and shook her head. "We'll stay here. Sevilin, do you want to come fetch things with me or remain here?"

All he heard was the good and felt the pat on the back which meant he had done something right. Yay for him! He celebrated with his own clapping and then flailed as Daddy was setting him down funny. He stood there, unsteadily, holding onto his father's pant leg for balance and tilted his head back to look up at him. Giving him an upside down crooked grin, he dropped to his hands and knees and took off, moving into the library in no time at all. Crawling over by his older sister who was playing the game, he held up the stone that had been clutched in his tight little fist and grinned. "Mine." Then glancing at the game and knocking a few down. "Boom!"

Faatallon rolled her eyes at her sister's need to dress things up. Uncle Malik was probably not going to be too pleased with his son looking like a girl. Kelligrin's arrival distracted her for a moment and she glanced at the stone. "I don't think that's yours, Kel..." But she watched, rather amused, as he took an interest in the game and reached out, knocking some of them down.
