Nelowulf Cale Darksun Nelowulf Cale Darksun So where would energy deflection fall? external or internal? Depends on how much you used it. Guardians tend to reflect attacks with their saber more than with the force. Take Mace for example. Instead of deflection, he channeled the force through his saber to produce the same effect. So some attacks are actually altered for the different fighting styles employed. What I mean is when I deflected a blaster bolt with a gloved hand back on Skull Base. Is that beyond my capabilities? Not beyond, if you learned it. considering Hiko trained you specifically to fight Ferno, I wouldn't be surprized either. I never said you couldn't focus on a specific power to makee yourself better at using it. But this is all a balance of time and training. Consolars learn to fight with mostly the force, so they pick up skills easily because they have already learned how to channel the force at any point for any reason. Guardians are more interested in modifying themselves to fight with the force as an ally, but as a second partner to their own initiative. I never stated that you can't use the attack. Nor did I say you need to concentrate on the skill to use it. however, if you learned that skill, chances are another part of your fighting skills suffered. Most likely you could easily have learned deflection. But if you want to really be concerned with balance (you handle skills very well anyway) then pick a skill to stink at. I wouldn't be worrying about it. Overt skills are harder for you, but not necessarily banned... Its like any other skill. You don't use it, it decays. Gotcha.

I wouldn't be worried about skills in terms of you cale.
Of all the jedi, you are the least likely to godmod. In fact, I would say you have room to smudge some skills as conservative as you are.
Plus, the way you're training, when in doubt, just evade or use your saber. Force play is for the wizards. You're the paladin. Let the wizards duke out what powers they have or dont have.
If anything, I'd suggest a little investment on Mace Windu, as that's basically the character model you have. See how he balances the saber and powers.

Sorry about that Nelo. I took that too far. I just wanted to point out how unlikely it was that he could do it. I obviously don't want them to go back because I want to get started.
Once again, I'm sorry that I went overboard on that everyone.

Regardless, I might give Mace a look, but I'll stick to my other sources. I'm not terribly fond of Mace.

Inventing styles, battlemaster... etc... @ Ral: Overboard? how?

I think I probably kept going with my arguments longer than they need to be. Oh well, we're done with that so it's no big deal. Now all we need is for the next RP to start.

Right now, we just want it over, we're not caring about how shitty it is done. It'd help if everyone wasn't going for last minute dramatics..
