Multiple explosions could be seen as the starfighters laser fire raked across the Je'daii ship. Admiral Sodan sat in his command chair and smiled wryly.

"Commander. Target their shield generators with the aft turbolasers."

"Shield generators targeted Admiral!"

"Fire."

The aft turbolasers whirled around and opened a barrage of laser fire onto the enemy frigate, pounding against it's shield generators with impunity. Fire and debris covered the side of the ship as the lasers ripped directly through the generators and into the hull underneath.

"Direct hit Admiral. Their shields are down!."

"Press the attack commander. We can't let our guard down until they've been destroyed."

"Aye sir!"

Ardalux took a seat in the captain's chair finally. That last volley had come rather close.... luckily nothing had gotten past the shields yet.
"Photon missiles at the ready, lock on to their primary shield generators." she commanded. The ensign at the station gave a signal when he was ready.
"Fire."

Slowly, the Chimera's turbo-laser batteries came to bare on Ardalux's vessel. Darth Demonicus' eyes glowed an angry yellow as the Dark Side coursed through every fiber of his being. "I want that ship to be star dust! Fire!" He commanded.

Ardalux was concerned with her distressed ensign, who seemed to be taking the fact that he had missed to heart.
"Captain... request to be re-assigned to another post? P-perhaps someone else would be better suited to this job... it's only my first day, I've never been in a battle like this before -- only drills."
Ardalux was about to respond, to give him some encouraging words, when the ship was rocked by the next attack from the Chimera. The shields absorbed the entire attack, but Ardalux glared at the Ensign who had distracted her while all of this was transpiring.
"Ensign! Get yourself together! Re-calibrate the targeting array and aim for their shields again!" she commanded.
"Y-yes sir!"

Seeing that his bridge crew had missed once again, Darth Demonicus glared instantly at the gunner. "Next shot that misses is your last." He said in a blood-chilling voice, the Dark Side channeling through his words.

Voss - Planet Surface - Center of Gorma-Koss

Davth was trying not to smirk when he looked over at Master Stone, he was technically the most junior master but he was also one of the most skilled in the healing and defensive arts.

"There is no ignorance; there is knowledge,
There is no fear; there is power,
I am the heart of the force,
I am the revealing fire of light,
I am the mystery of darkness,
In balance with chaos and harmony,
Immortal in the Force.
I. AM. JE'DAII."

Dawson watched as the Grandmaster started to head out of the base alone. "You Corporal, take a platoon and follow him, we just got him back and damn it if we are about to loose him again."

There was something in his his eye when he turned back to face the two he had just defended, "Now then we need all the help we can get, so I'm going to need to know just what you are both capable of."

Voss

"Calm yourself Elyria, and think about this. Why would they bring back Master Endar only to place themselves on a sacrificial altar the second the imperial fleet entered the system?.

"Calm myself?...you Davth of all people..you who have had to piece our comrades back together...who has had to walk through pools of blood just to find a faint heartbeat...I thought you of all would understand.....you know how Rahl works....he finds them...the broken...the beaten...he promises them power...and vengeance...he tells them they're special..they're chosen.. looking over at the girl "isn't that right Zara? holding the girls eyes with her own and then he uses them as his pawns..or simply kills them for sport...

"I offer you a chance, Zara, Master Endar claims that you have in a way redeemed yourself in his eyes. Prove it to the rest of us, Dawson was it?" Elyria watched them carefully as Davth continued to speak...

Forgive me, Master Stone... she began, projecting this to her telepathically. Perhaps it is my fault... after I had smuggled Master Endar out of the prisons, a High Lord of the Sith confronted me, and I became very... defensive. An argument ensued, and I attracted much more attention to us than I should have. He may have recognized the grandmaster's face if he saw him in the prison, and I think... I think he was the one who followed us. You can ask Master Endar; he will tell you the same story. I will take responsibility for this, but please... I will help you defend Voss, if only you allow me.

Elyria moved towards the young girl, taking her hands in her own as she looked deeper into her eyes " I want to believe you child..your eyes tell what you have suffered....but these are my people..whatever part you have played..you have brought a great darkness upon us..can we trust you with our lives?...

"Stop acting like a youngling, Master Stone, you know the plan, as a temple master you know as well as I why I called the fleet here! This is the best chance we have at striking a major blow at the Empire and freeing the galaxy from their grasp.

Her head snapped toward Endars voice "yes, I didn't want to believe it...you who led our people like lambs to the slaughter on Mustafer..you call me a youngling..and yet you ran off half-cocked to Coruscant...I crossed the Galaxy to save you..and now this..is your heart so tainted with the need to spill Rahl's blood that you put us all at risk? This is NOT the Je'daii way...we fight to protect and defend..did you even consider the Gormaks as you plotted? They have sheltered us and now you bring this blight upon them.....

"Master Davth is right, I thought the sith might follow us here, and now that they have, let's not stand around chatting about it while they kill us."

she dropped Zara's hand and her body visibly drooped..the point was moot..it was too late..they were here..listening to Ka'all recite the Je'daii oath, she watched him turn and walk away...she had looked up to him most of her life...and now, she wondered if she even knew the man..he had dismissed her so easily..shaking her head she started towards her quarters...the die had been cast..now she must do as she was taught..to protect and defend..to fight in a war she didn't believe in for a man she wasn't sure she believed in any more...bitter tears welled in her eyes for what she had lost.....

she reached her rooms just as they were bringing her armor, the simple pirates sheath was not something she could fight in..as the young officer lay it on her bed, she grabbed his arm.. "What is this? This is not mine..this was to be cleaned and returned to the Temple on Mandalore.. I'm sorry Master Stone..this is what was sent..there is no other... She shook her head as he left the room Mesh'la's armor..memories flashed through her mind..the portrait..Vic's face as he looked at her with utter hatred..she traced the insignia, that of Vic's family..dropping her dress to the floor, she quickly donned Mesh'la's armor, not the armor of a Je'daii, but that of a Mandoin Warrior. beautiful, ornate of the finest bes'kar...looking in the mirror Mesh'la..Grandfather spoke of your prowess...fight with me now..If I am to die this day..it is fitting to have you by my side turning she noticed the light blinking on her holocom...quickly she ran to it...what could this possibly be?

as she switch it on the face of one of her newest students appeared...Wilca...a young Kiffar he spoke to her of his dream..his nightmare....
he had s sense of great darkness approaching. And then he saw it, a flash of fire and death innocence screaming, and then.... nothing.
she shook her hear and recorded a message back to him... youngling your vision portends of a great war we are to fight here on Voss..the Emperor has found our outpost and brings his hordes upon us..I cannot dally..I must join the fight..please meditate on your vision..send your Force to us that we may reached Victory this day..if we fail..you must protect the homeland at all costs...we fight for the Galaxy this day...for all the species that wish to dwell in peace rather than tyranny..it is the fight of our lives...I must go..stay strong young Wilca...stay brave..

Suddenly she gasped..he had made her realize the bond between Master and student..how one is interdependent on the other "Ka'all...what have I done... she jumped up suddenly and made for the door...she knew what she must do...she knew where she must be..she would fight by her Master's side...join her blade with his...and if the Force willed it..die there....she left the housing and made her way into the bright Voss sunlight..

Voss - Gormak Armory

"They call this an armory?" Corvin scoffed as he wrinkled his nose. "Looks like someone tried to breed a museum with a locker room... and smells like it, too!" The Gormak were never known for their own technical acuity, but they were expert scavengers and had been around more than their fair share of conflicts from which to reap the spoils. The result was a collection of cubbies, racks, shelves and rods from which hung all manner of gear, much of which had been spliced together haphazardly to form newer and more dangerous versions of their predecessors. It was lucky for Corvin that he was such an adept scavenger himself, and a mechanic besides... everything here would be useful given proper maintenance, but there simply wasn't time for that. What could he find that was useful now?

He avoided objects with the most obvious damage and faults, pushing hangars aside and moving racks. The locals obviously favored heavy gear, which was not ordinarily Corvin's style, but he had to admit that the land mines, particle blasters, and rocket launchers all certainly had their place on a battlefield. They even had several light sabers, all on display as though they feared no repercussions for scavenging from their Je'daii allies. Well, things do go missing, and a few backup blades certainly wouldn't hurt... wait! What's this?

Another benefit of being a smuggler was knowing the value of your wares... and that color! He pushed a few racks aside to reveal what was behind them, dropping several dangerous objects and leaping back in his surprise. When he was certain the room wasn't going to explode, he approached the object of his excitement... It was certainly a set of Mandalorian Wars era Battle Armor, but that wasn't what had gotten his attention. He called one of the lightsabers from the ground to his hand, and it lit up with a pleasing yellow glow that complimented the armor's brassy finish, one which should have long ago tarnished but hadn't. He touched the blade to the armor's forearm experimentally. It flickered. It shorted out. "A full set of Cortosis Weave Armor..." he breathed... He could retire on the sale of this one item, but it's value was much greater here. "Elyria, I could kiss you!"

Tython. Je'daii temple

Wilca rushed from the communications hall back to his room, his cloak flowing behind him. He did his best to calm his mind to keep fear from clouding his judgment he needed a strong connection with the force for what he was about to do. Wilca stepped through the still open doors of his chamber and closed his eyes using all his concentration he reached out with the force, reached out to a small wooden box on his book shelf. The box slowly floated up and towards him, with his eyes still closed he reached his hands out and released his hold on the box, and it fell into his waiting arms, and with a deep sigh he quietly muttered " May the force guide me" under his breath. Wilca took a moment to clear his mind concentrating on the force flowing through him, then focusing that feeling to find one of the most sacred places of the Je'daii the crystal caves.

Voss - Center of Gorma-Koss

The young Sith was taken aback when the Master took her hands in her own, though she maintained her usual deadpan, emotionless expression.
The things that Master Stone was saying... Zara didn't like it at all, she didn't like the way she spoke of Lord Rahl. She was promised power, yes, but hadn't she been given power tenfold? She was no pawn... what she was doing for the Emperor was but a trifle compared to all that he had done for her...
Unless that was what she was supposed to believe...
No! She was Sith! And the Sith did not take in the weak of heart! She was not some little girl, a weak, defenseless child! Anger coursed through her veins. She would not be pitied, not by her or by anyone!
Her eyes drifted to the side for half a second before focusing back on Master Stone's, as though she were considering all that she was saying. However, any shadow of a doubt of her standing with the Sith was forgotten as soon as Master Stone released her hands to berate the grandmaster yet again. Zara watched with interest. This was the second time she had expressed anger towards him. Was she disillusioned with the Order? Zara took careful note of this.
Since Master Endar had already revealed that this was not the true Je'daii home planet, Zara understood that this was the side she had to fight on, if ever she wanted to complete her task.
She was pleased when the Togruta asked what she was capable of -- finally, someone here who didn't see her as a little girl. Wordlessly, she brought out the handle of her double-bladed lightsaber and activated the red crystal, one end at a time. The humming of the blade was calming to her - she had been longing to hear that sound for a while now. Lengthwise, the saberstaff was actually taller than she, though a strong connection to the Force allowed one with a small frame as her's deftly wield such a weapon. Indeed, her movements with the saberstaff were fluid, as though it truly were an extension of her body. She locked eyes onto the Togruta, now directing her thoughts to him.
I am not the sad, broken child your Master Stone makes me out to be. I am silent, deliberate, and I fear nothing.
A flicker of a smile could be seen on her face, but it was gone in an instant.
Many of those we will face were fellow acolytes that I trained with myself. I know their strengths, their weaknesses. This I can exploit. I would have preferred not to strike at those I had at some point called my friends, but if this is what I must do to prove myself... I am yours to command.

Voss

The black cloak billowed in the breeze as the Emperor stood a top a hill, overlooking the advance of the Je'daii forces. Just then, white hair caught his eye as he focused on the old man in the fore. Pointing his lightsaber, Rahl addressed his own men, "That one is mine!" Rushing down the hill at the head of his men as they all charged, the Dark Lord called out to the Je'daii Grandmaster as he ran, "Come on old man! Let's finish this once and for all!"

Voss - planet's surface

Ka'all couldn't help but feel a sadness as he rushed off to war. It was painfully obvious that the masters no longer held any respect for him and all he had done in his lifetime for the Order. He'd heard the whispers in the halls of the temples on Tython, maybe that was why he'd run off to Coruscant after the Emperor. Was he trying to prove that he could still make a difference or was he truly hoping, deep down, that he'd be killed in one last desperate act to help the Order survive? Maybe if he couldn't find a way to get himself killed here, he'd just move on and retire to some distant planet and live out whatever time he had left in peace and not bother anyone anymore.

"Come on old man! Let's finish this once and for all!"

Ka'all looked up to see the Emperor himself, rushing headlong down the hill towards him. Setting his jaw, and narrowing his eyes, Je'daii Master Endar ignited his lightsaber with a snap-hiss and rushed to meet the enemy.
