Running to see that there was a young Totoma trapped in some ice and he quickly started to stomp the shattering ice it from around the Totoma where it wouldn’t be swallowed by the ice. To which all his stomping did free the Totoma from the ice.

And when a little one was being pushed about by three nameless older ones, she just couldn't watch. With thundering hooves, she burst in, her heart strong, rage in her eyes as she looked at the three, daring them to continue on the little one between her forelegs.
They pondered and turned tail, scared of the look she gave. "Thank you." The young kin spoke, a smile on his face. "Your eyes like burning, they scared them away!" With that, she felt she had earned her name, as the same look continued to aid many young ones before, this one was the only that stayed to speak to her.

She forgot long ago the concept of warmth. Frost dangled from her fur, even so far as the ice seeping beneath her plates. Frozen to the core, she sought refuge. Anything from the endless cold snow. A loud clap signaled the avalanche but it swallowed up her hunting group just as easily as their escape was futile. Day and night became cold and colder. Rationed food was gone and the skies were silent. No living thing braved this kind of weather. In complete solitude she dug her way out. Silence and frost her constant companions, they helped to quell silly desires like thirst and hunger. She held on for the hope of seeing that one totoma. An endless gray landscape, she was beginning to forget the totoma's face when she broke free, the cutting wind gladly welcomed.
Days had passed and she had survived they said. 8 days.

The young buck had gone a whole winter without even trying to earn himself a name, so he decided to hold an open challenge to any buck that would accept. Many showed up, mainly those already with a name that wanted to see another male earn theirs.
None of the young bucks immediately came out and said anything until, "I will accept your challenge." was heard from the back of the crowd. It was an elderly buck, which lead to small fits of laughter from various members of the crowd. The young buck just stared though, as the old male stared back.
And so they fought. It turned out that this elderly buck was quick-witted and agile. His smarts had even earned his name. He was truely a challenge for the young buck. The young buck fought his hardest, as did the old male, but on this day, victory was not for him it seemed. The elderly buck won the challenge, and while the others, both named and nameless, laughed at his losing, the older one did not. He walked up to the buck, "Thank you for that, young one. It's been awhile since anyone has actually fought hard and not mistaken me as weak. You do not discriminate in a fight, that's very good, since you don't know how strong the other fighter will be."
From that day forth, the young buck was known by the name, "Does Not Discriminate."
