Thats what everyone who was consious when the building collapsed thinks. Kazu didn't grab on to Granlocomon as it made it's exit and the factory collapsed around him gonk So yes, everyone currently thinks he's dead xd

Kazu Matsumoto Hey guys, for all intents and purposes you all think Kazu was crushed and killed back in factorial town if that's ok?
