"That would be a wonderful idea," Lin smiled brightly.
It was also overall a very good sign for Haldia to suggest she talk to Alena. It would be cutting it close, Lin didn't know how long it would take to build a wall (for she would assume it was easier to expand build the wall and then construct the buildings behind it).
"This could be the plan, and it would ease at least one worry."

"I'll do that then," Haldia decided, "the next time she comes to the ship."
Unless of course they saw her in the city or something before then. But the following day, they would have to start with their work of mapping the island. It was the best time for them to do so: the gnomes would be in hiding from the cold, and it would be the safest for them.

"Hmm... there's a good chance we'll be going to the castle before she comes to the ship," Lin murmured.
There wasn't a real good reason for Alena to go to the ship and she was probably busy helping and learning from Shiro since the whole archive had to be renewed.

Haldia thought about that for a moment as the roc landed on the ship's deck and they began to slide off her back. Once the roc had been unsummoned, she turned back to Lin.
"Then the next time that I see her," she said. "Wherever and whenever that may be."

Lin nodded, "That sounds like a plan."
She hoped it would be soon, as in that Haldia would come with them on their trip to map the island.

For the rest of the day, Earendil prepared his things for mapping the island. Alena and Aurin came to the ship later in the afternoon, to ask when they would begin mapping, and Earendil sent Alena to Haldia's quarters so that Haldia could tell her the idea she'd had about the expansion of the city.
When the two left, Aurin promised to be back early the following morning, and Alena left with them a flask of malek - just in case, even though Earendil was hoping to fly with Haldia instead of Aurin.

"Coming or staying?" Lin asked as she picked up her bag.
It was early morning, and Lin was already ready to leave for the mapping trip. She wasn't quite sure why she bothered asking Senka whether or not she wanted to come along, but she did anywas.
"Staying," Senka sniffed haughilty before she proceeded to clean herself.
Her cat of course didn't like flying and wasn't interested in mapping anyways. She stayed on the last mapping trip as well. Though at least she was useful having pushed down the rope ladder last time.
"Just stay out of trouble."
Again, Lin didn't know why she bothered, Senka for the most part would stay out of trouble, though might annoy someone while she was at it. Waving good bye to her pet, she made her way up deck to see who else would be coming. Earendil of course and Rhea, but she wasn't sure if anyone had apporached Haldia with the idea of joining on this trip.

Surprisingly, Earendil was the only one not already on deck, who was going to be going on the mapping expedition. Rhea was there, warmly wrapped, chatting amiably with Aurin, who had already arrived; Haldia, standing to one side and glaring at the roc as if she was comparing Skyel with Rhiel and not finding much to approve of; Celeb, who refused to let Haldia go anywhere without him again; and Kelirahc and Leyenda, who just wanted the experience of riding Skyel at least once.
"Good morning, Lin!" Leyenda waved to Lin as she came up on deck. "Ready to go?"

"I'm ready but where's Earendil?" Lin asked curious.
She was also looking at Celeb, Kelirahc and Leyenda. Well, with Celeb she shouldn't have been so surprised, after all he was almost stuck to Haldia like glue. Even though she didn't know how to feel about him coming along.

Leyenda shrugged. "He hasn't been up on deck yet, so I don't know," she explained. "Celeb might know, he's the one sharing his bunk ..."
Celeb looked up at Leyenda. "He's still in our room," he told her. "He said he would be up but that was a long time ago already, so I don't know what's taking him so long ..."

Now that was weird, normally Earendil would be one of the first people up.
"Should I go down and see if he needs help? It's not like him to be thel ast one up."
Maybe he misplaced something?

Leyenda nodded. "May as well. Even if you only find out how long he's going to be. Not that I think the others are in a hurry to leave, but it is a bit strange."
"Tell him to hurry up!" Celeb said impatiently. "We're waiting for him so we can go!"

Lin resisted the urge to roll her eyes at Celeb, but he was a typical kid what could she say or do?
"I'll go get him."
With that she turned on her heel and went back below deck to where Earendil and Celeb's room was. This was certainly odd she thought to herself as she knocked on his door.

Earendil had emptied his runed bag and had all of his things spread over his bed. He was startled by the knock on the door, but without glancing up he called out, "Come in."
He knew he was late, and that he should have been up on deck a while ago, but he couldn't help it.

Lin peeked into Earendil's room and stared, stared... and then stared some more.
"Earendil... why does it look like your bag just exploded in here?"
Stepping in she wondered what in the heck he was doing.
