Nathan curled up into bed, arms wrapped around himself as his eyes closed. He thought he was going back to sleep, but instead he saw a face on the back of his eyelids. A face that resembled Mao's but that came with no name.
The features blurred as he opened his eyes and stared at the wall opposite with a frown.

Mao came back out a few minutes later dressed in a T-shirt and jeans. He didn't realize that Nathan seemed more upset now and he sat back on the bed. "Hey, I'm back."

"Come in here?" The Angel held out his arms, faking a shiver, "it's cold without you - unless you need to go to work right now?" Nathan blinked and tucked his arms back in with an apologetic smile.
"Of course you have work: don't be late, your patients need you right now!" he closed his eyes. "I'll see you when you get back."

Mao looked at Nathan for a moment and then shook his head. "You're right. I forgot all about work." He brought Nathan closer to him and held him in a hug for a bit. "I'll make it up to you when I get back." With that he stood again and got his things so he could leave. "If you need me for anything don't be afraid to call," he said as he walked out the door.

Nathan held him back, then waved before curling up in his bed again. He didn't want to sleep, so he stared at the wall opposite and tried to bring back that face... and succeeded in a mixture of Mao's face and the other one. A completely useless jumble.
He went to grab a pen and his notebook from the desk drawer, only to see a name scrawled several times on the cover. 'Yoru'.
Who was Yoru, and why did it matter so much? With a shrug, he hid the diary and forced himself to get dressed: Angelic Training would make him feel more in control. So he left the house, knowing he would come back just as Mao did...

Mao couldn't help but worry about the situation with Nathan. He feared that Yoru would still find a way to come back. If he managed to get close to Nathan then he would tell him everything that happened. Mao couldn't risk that. He wanted Nathan to stay with him and the thought of Nathan possibly haven fallen in love with his younger brother sickened him. He would never let that happen. At least that's what he told himself over and over again.

"You're unable to focus, more than usual. I demand you sort yourself out before you attempt to help others. With your mind in that much turmoil, you can be no help to anyone; might I suggest you use these techniques to solve your own problems? I can help you, but first I want you to meditate and then go home."
Dismissed, Nathan did as he was told. He arrived home at the usual time, sitting on the bed as he continued his meditation at home.

Mao was able to get off work about an hour earlier. There weren't too many patients so there was no need for half of the nurses to be there. He headed home immediately but took a momentary stop to get dinner for himself and Nathan. After that he headed home. He placed the bags on the kitchen counter and then headed to the bedroom where he assumed Nathan was. "Hey there. I'm home early tonight." He sat down on the bed with him and get him a peck on the cheek. He didn't notice himself, but there was another voice blended in with his own as his spoke.
"You want to come eat now?"
"I waited for you..."

"Hey there, but I can't eat for a few days - I'm meditating. But you make sure you both eat for me, alright?" Nathan smiled but didn't move or open his eyes as he continued to meditate. He knew he'd heard two voices, but he couldn't tell who the second one was. It was very familiar though...

Mao caught on quickly to Nathan's comment and felt confused. He had not heard anything nor would he be able to. "You two? Who are the two you're talking about?"
"They all lied to you. They wanted to drive us apart."

"I can't tell. Maybe I'm channelling someone nearby? I have no idea how these Angelic powers work at the moment, but since I'm busy meditating I can't go search them out for now... just take care, ok? I can't open my eyes..."

Mao calmed him mind by believing that it could just be the soul of some poor human that may have died nearby and was trying to seek a way up to heaven. "Yeah, that must be it," he said to reassure himself. He then nodded and left to go eat. He would leave Nathan alone to mediate without any more interruptions.

Nathan tried to concentrate on clearing his mind completely, but he found that the voice wouldn't go away. So he opened his mind to it, trying to feel where it was coming from. To hear what it wanted to say without moving.

Mao had eventually fallen asleep downstairs. He had grown tired with work and everything else that had happened recently. However he had not realized that by falling asleep he had left Nathan unguarded.
"They told me you had just grown tired of me. They said you had no use for me and that you wanted my heart crushed so the did."

He frowned, the words connecting to something in his mind before - they were cut off, followed by a pain in his head.
I think I know you somehow, or of someone like you. Could you tell me your name, tell me what I can do to help you? By instinct he sent the message telepathically, vaguely surprised at how swiftly he caught on and by how natural it seemed to him.
